In working for The Philadelphia Spectrum for so many years. The biggest pay day and publicity Bobby Heehnan ever got was when he was hired by the WWF and came to our Building once a month. Bobby was just opposite in real life from what you see here. Bobby and I became friends and he was one of the greatest people I have met. Bobby use to always be to please not tell people that we was nice and when he was alive I never told Anyone that Bobby nice but what a gem he was. Jack Lands who Bobby introduced me to really was not a real nice person in real life but Bobby was maybe it was just to me but what a good guy. When Bobby developed Cancer of the Mouth and could not talk because of the surgeons cutting half his face off to try and save his life I would see Bobby at some signing shows and he still was so comedic to me even if he had to just use his hands to give gestures. God Bless Bobby up in Heaven and Thanks for being so nice to me and being a great friend to me.

Less was more, no spectacular ring entrances, no pyro, no wacky storylines, no models just interesting old school wrestling.

It’s would have happened in the next decade regardless. Keep in mind pro wrestling is 100% billed as a shoot when this was recorded.

some truely CLASSIC wrestling from the old days of local promotion wrestling. WWA was the first wrestling I ever remember watching as a 4 year old kid back in the early 80s, seeing some of this early footage of WWA is awesome, especially seeing a very young Bobby Heenan in the promotion at this early time period.

MR. BOB LUCE AND HIS WIFE SHARON were the best. I went to the shows at the amphitheater in chicago and had a blast. Whatever happened to the luxe hall of fame? It was great to walk thru and having a steak dinner with moose and pepper Gomez was great.

Lou Thez was an extraordinary wrestler he held his UWA championship for the longest time and lost it against the outstanding
Heavyweight Canek from 🇲🇽 Mexico who defended this title several times in Mexico and Japan against Inoki & Hulk Hogan.
From one great champion to another 👍👍

Those cats-eye shades were bad-ass. There was a real style shift happening at this time, from the 50s crew cuts of the Bruiser and Crusher to the shaggy dudes at the end, with that Mad Men slicked down look that would've been considered current. My man looked like he stepped out of an Italian spy movie.

This commentator reminds me of the late Ed Capral who called matches in Atlanta Georgia from 1955-1974.
With Ed he kept you concentrating on what was going on in the ring and not some scripted clown show outside the ring. I mean it’s a work in the ring but at least back then you watched the wrestling instead of a bunch of wrestlers showing up and match breaks out time and time again or ten people rushing to the ring to interfere and it’s like watching a battle royal instead of a match.
