SSD technology has developed to the point where endurance is much less of a concern(although mostly due to increased capacity so you overwrite the same cells fewer times). Lots of tests show that a lot of ssds can outlast their claimed TBW by a long long margin.
It is not possible. Apple locks every SSD board with serial or some kind of encryption. Any other board from another machine will not work. That’s why he has to replace the NAND flash using the hard way.
Dosdude1 on YT demonstrated this same mod, narrating and explaining the whole time as he was implementing the mod, he makes it look easy even for people that consider themselves technologically challenged when it comes to attempting a mod like this

@@rjScubaSki I think that was true with the studio but the base mini is selling in much larger numbers. Apple might just react to snub it before it gets out of control.

there's so many people want to upgrade thier mac storage. this is the proof that 256gb is not relevant anymore on 2024
Я бы сказал что память на компьютере не особо нужна сейчас. Программы многие в облаке или вообще в веб версии.
Read/ Write speed can be up to 3K after upgrade, it is worth.
From what I’ve seen this is just as fast as the stock memory, I’m thinking it’s not the nand’s fault (likely whatever controller it’s using)
Where do you source the NAND chip from?
Apple ‘ we ALWAYS own your device, even after you paid through the nose for it’
In few years, when I need more than 256GB internal, thing like this might be possible and cheap by either pre-made card or some good repair shop.
