    Summary:
1.) if you set low goals, you only reach low goals, if you want to change as a person you need to challenge yourself by discarding your previous self,
2.) you need to put yourself first sometimes,
3.) change will take a lengthy time through consistent action
4.) other people will seem better than you, however you can surpass them by emulating them because we all are the same and nobody’s special
5.) most people have the same thought process,
6.) whenever a goal seems too hard, you need to stay aware of your potential by looking at your previous accomplishments for inspiration

Its interesting. When discussing about game dev, among the ideas widely adopted by professional gamedevs are: If your game is taking too much time, cut out somethinh and make it simpler. Btw, I like how you list down more than 3 points, disregarding the video and make it your own unique thoughts. Thats some high level studying technique u got there.

Sorry, there is a limit to your body set at birth. You can go all the way to your potential, but not more (most people stop way before reaching it).
For example, very few will ever have the mass of muscle that Lou Ferigno reached. No matter how hard they train.
And the current fiasco with males pretending to be women in sports, demostrate that women can't reach the same potential. Just as men would never birth.
At the end. You will never know your potential until you tried, Trying does not mean you will win. But not trying does mean you will lose. And no, you won't know until you have done it. Only after mastering something (which anyone can indeed do) you can know what your potential was. But mastering A, means you will not be masterind B, C, D... And you may had a better potential at those. So choose wisely.
I like anime. But sometimes the messages given are just plain false.

One thing I love about Isagi as a characeter is how stronger he gets as the series goes on.
You never see that he suddenly gets a huge power boost and becomes one of the best in Blue Lock, instead his development is slow, he goes from relying on his teammates to score goals to now making entire strategies centered around him scoring. Just compare the team Y match to the 4v4 against Rin, you'll see how much Isagi has evolved, and he definetly keeps up with all of his crazy strong teammates instead of relying on them.

I’m a soccer player with the same problem Isagi had in episode one. I’m a VERY unselfish player and often try to pass the ball as soon as I can (which I’m very good at). But it wasn’t until a recent game where I got the ball and drove up the field and through like 3 players that I realized I was good enough to do more. Basically what happened is that I drove passed the three players and saw another coming at me. I knew I could’ve gotten passed them too and I would’ve had an open goal but instead I passed the ball to my teammate and she lost the ball. I have great spatial awareness and I was open to receive another pass but my teammates can’t keep the ball and we got countered immediately after I passed it.
After the game I was beating myself up about it bc we would’ve won 2-1 instead of tying 1-1 if only I didn’t pass. Because I realized this, I’ve started working on keeping the ball more and I realize I have an *awesome* right foot shot and my left foot shot is pretty accurate as well. I also became confident in my footwork, knowing it was already good but never using it bc of my lack of confidence.
I will use this video to also better myself in soccer, even though I don’t plan on going pro or anything.
On a side note, my confidence in my skills is probably really low bc my coach during Covid put me, and the rest of my team down quite a bit, and he not only refused to play me in my position (midfield) but put me as a wing even though I’m really slow. And when I went in, I played like 10 minutes max. Then, he abandoned us and another coach took over, but he did the same thing the other coach did. And in high school, the coach played favorites, and I wasn’t one. So, I quit high school soccer and just play club, now with a better team (we don’t win but the coach is fair).

I had the same exact problem but I i realized was not getting any credit for assists and passes and blocking shots (I was a defender back then). I slowly started practicing alone with the walls and I realized I was not only good at defending but I am also one of the fastest players. I started playing CM in a few matches with my friends and then on the first day of school next year I scored a banger. I focused more on my shooting and dribbling which I have greatly improved. I already had the best physique out of all the footballers so I didn't pay much attention and practiced touch and volleys. I've now become much better at touch and learned a few tricks for volleys but I still have yet to master it. 2 weeks ago my friends decided to rent a field and invited other schools team to play against us since they couldnt while we had school, I ended up winning and scored from quarter of the court and assisted 2 goals.

I've always loved sports anime for how motivating they are, but Blue Lock is really extra special with it's focus on individual growth. I love how you consciously project yourself into the lessons this anime has to teach, so that we can all learn how it's connected to real life and not just something entirely fictional.
I'm a tutor of high school students who are usually on the verge of dropping out when they start seeking out help (or rather their parents) and I am used to telling them how important it is to reflect, improve and overcome. I get to somewhat frequently witness these kids realize the value of their effort and beat the odds.
In my own life however, I now realize I'm also still on this journey of battling insecurity, negative self thoughts, and minimizing my own progress relative to seemingly unattainable goals. It's the easy way out to just become complacent, and in my case my environment encourages it.
I'm definitely going to do a bit of personal review of where I stand exactly and what action I can take right now.

Found your channel via the Vinland Saga video and I was delighted to see Blue Lock here. I unironically think Blue Lock is one of the most insightful anime. Anime teaches about different concepts such as comfort zone, challenge-growth relation, impostor syndrome, adaptability, luck, self-esteem and most importantly egoism. They are represented so well, both metaphorically and directly. And I am not even talking in the context of football or sports. I am a programmer and everything is so relatable from start to end even in the perspective of my field.

Small note on the second point: in addition to realizing he is not so special that he can’t glean from what someone else is doing, he also realizes his personal limits. Like you said, He knows he can’t do Nagi traps or get Barou physicality but he recognizes he can try Naruhaya’s step work. It’s feasible challenge for his skill set. But all of that comes from Isagi first knowing his skill set and playing to his own unique strengths, which as it turns out are his adaptability, iq, and awareness, and are the very things he drew on to win.

Instead of "you're not special," I often say "you're not broken."
This works WAY better than the former, for it always registers as a degradation no matter how much I explain it.
To most people, "special" has positive connotation; it *doesn't* mean that you're worse off. So I don't tell people they aren't.
Instead, most people think others are better than they are, because they think they're busted, not "special," and usually it's because theu have some kind of inhibitive condition.
I say that "sure, it's probably going to be harder for you to do the same things; you might need to be inventive, but yes, you can still do it, or at least die trying."

Then because of this new mindset, I seemed to flow through work better today and trained at the gym for a couple hours without a single* complaint or doubt. Absolutely phenomenal video. You’ve completely changed my perspective on what it means to chase growth.
The whole video had me in intense thought with my hand on my chin just like Isagi, especially with what you said at 6:52. For some reason, that really got me. I’ve been a huge Shonen fan since childhood, and I’ve always loved when characters monologue about “breaking past their limits”, but I’ve never really sat down and considered what phrases like that actually mean.
The way you explained Nagi’s growth here, in the context of this video, finally got it thru to me. I’ve always intrinsically assumed it meant just “pushing yourself thru the pain and steeling your resolve” or whatever, but that’s not what it means. “Breaking thru your limits” means “removing the “subconscious cap you’ve placed on your ability”. It’s about figuring out what’s holding you back and discarding it. It’s not about finding a magical burst in energy and strength; it’s about figuring out what mental chains you’ve placed on yourself that have been restricting you from accomplishing what you’re actually capable of, and removing them.
Growth, I now know, is only achievable by picking a challenge greater than what you think you’re capable of, and forcing yourself to adapt until you’ve reached it, because the reality is that you’re more capable than you think you are, and if your mindset is holding you back from realizing that, you cannot grow.
Thank you so much for this. I’m gonna take the points from this video and seriously start thinking about the different ways I can use them to facilitate growth in my life. Needless to say, you’ve earned a subscriber 🙏

  • @0EnterTheDarkside0
    @0EnterTheDarkside0 Рік тому +1

Step 1: Challenge = Change. If you want to change something about yourself, you have to take on challenges to the thing you want to change.
Step 2: You’re not special. Those people you put above or below you are just every bit as human as you are. If you see them doing something, you likely can learn to do it, too.
Step 3: Give yourself some credit. If you’ve made progress, recognize it. You probably still have further to go, but you came a little further, too.
I’m gonna remember these. Thanks for this video.

    Stage 2:
You're not special but so is Michael Jordan, Steve Jobs, etc, the people you see as special are just as normal as you.
    Stage 3:
Give yourself some credit and stop doubting yourself

2:57 this is SUPER IMPORTANT! YOU need too understand that being kind isn't about stomping on / forgetting your own goals, time or efforts so that you can help others grow, it is about leaving PLANNED room in your life that you can then give away to the important people in your life.
also side note, this is not only about simple everyday things like being kind to the random people you meet, that takes practically no time or effort at all. I am talking about helping someone with a task, like moving, cleaning, driving someone, going out for a drink etc etc.
Take care of yourself first and you'll see that your life will change for the better.
