@ergob3907 i think there is an Theorie that termina is just an parallel world or dream of link which should explain why he sees there people looking similar like his people in hyrule, but with different names. The majoras mask was there for link to overcome his trauma from his events in OOT

People is getting the Majora's Mask thing wrong, killing the Skull Kid here doesn't affect the sequel plot because that's during the kid Link's timeline and this is the adult Link one.
