Ooh, I grew up in Redditch and must admit, I haven't seen the statue! The best reference in town was the Black Sabbath album called Headless Cross, which is a district within Redditch.
Bro you seriously have me inspired to do this. I always joked growing up I wanted to make my own pinball machine. But watching your videos is showing me the reality that it can be done! I can’t wait to see your further ideas on your staircase and upper play field.
Yes!!!! Do it!!! There’s a lot of people willing to help you too! With the circuit boards and open source software platforms the hardest parts are already taken care of for you - we get to focus on the fun parts 😃
Oh yeah? Nice!! Do you have anything up on the web we can check out? I’d love to see what you’re working on- always love following other homebrew builds 😃
Thanks Alex! Hoping to have it ready with some actual metal ball guides before too long! Not sure how crazy I’ll get with the back box for this first project but maybe in the next?
I know this video is a year old but as you’re explaining ideas here I had a thought. If you take 2 guitar strings and run them parallel to one another; stretched from 2 posts; then you’d have a guitar themed ramp or guide rail which the ball can roll on; like pinball train tracks.
Yes! That's an awesome idea for guiding the ball! I might have to use that in my next music themed machine 😉 - or maybe after I've got everything else finished on this one I could try going back and replacing the metal rods in my habitrail with some strings
Man I wish the cost to enter wasn't so high. It's around 400 - 600 dollars to get all the basic parts stuff ordered. Flippers and sling shots. Pop bumpers for the fun people and that doesn't include drop/standing targets or logic boards.
Your LZ has will be better than the official one anyway. FYI, in case you're not aware, Gottlieb's Wipe Out has an escalator (ski lift) that you could take a look at.
Yeah I had already started on mine before Stern released theirs, 🤷 mine will be very different- have you played Led Zeppelin yet? I’m curious what you think of it
@@thepinballroom i playyed it and its so bad so i hope yours will be nice. The gameplay was hard to start and borging when you started it. Also when you started there was a high chance the ball drains before it even touches your flipper
horseshoe with a diverter is a cool idea
Thanks I’m excited to try it out with a working diverter, hoping to get to that point fairly soon
Even though your speed of talking gets me tired, I LOVE your showing how to do this. Gives me so many ideas. thank you very much
Thank you, I’ll try to slow down a bit! 👍
Really coming together!!
Really enjoying this series!

Homebrews I love em
Kind of looks fun, some games went right through with ramps the p/f backplate so that could extend those shots
Yeah I’m planning on having the right ramp go behind the backplate so hopefully that will work out ok
Looks cool. Like the left orbit shot. Felt good just watching you shoot it. Nice job. Got a follow.
Very interesting to see your project arise;-). Im in a similar project at the moment ;-)

Steve this so far looks really fun to play. Can't wait to see it when it's done. Also it would be good if you did a unique thing with the backbox.

Oh yeah I would love ❤️ too get my Own pinball machine
This is awesome!
I recommend using corrugated plastic sheeting in the future for prototyping. It's super strong and about the same cost as cardboard.

Yeah I hear ya it definitely adds up as you keep going - I’ve got a google sheet listed in the description that shows what I’ve spent so far 😬

Thanks for the encouragement!! I’m not familiar with wipeout but I’ll check it out, thanks!!
Why? Cause subways are cool. Heck yeah they are!
Uhm in on vacation right now and on this camping there is actually a led zeppelin pinball machine
Yeah I had already started on mine before Stern released theirs, 🤷 mine will be very different- have you played Led Zeppelin yet? I’m curious what you think of it
