  • I was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and have been going through chemotherapy, so I know first hand the toll that cancer takes on your appearance. Thanks to my eyebrows falling out and my eyelashes jumping ship, I've had to tweak the way I do my makeup. I wanted to share how I've been doing my makeup to compesate for the hair loss. Hopefully this helps some of my fellow cancer warriors.
I apologize for how insanely long this video is, but I didn't want to leave anything out! Especially the brow details.

Thank you so much for making this video, Erin. I was diagnosed with with stage 3 breast cancer, chemo starts next week, and I didn't know what to do about the hair loss. Your video taught me so much, I feel confident now that I can look normal and feel good about venturing outside my house when I have the strength to do the simple things like grocery shopping and not worrying about how people look at me. It's not about vanity, it's about not getting the stares, or the looks of pity or, as I put it, upsetting the little kiddies (and adults). BTW, you are a beautiful woman, inside and outside, and I hope you are in remission and will be well and whole again SOON! You have an amazing attitude. You have given me hope.

I have had stage IV breast cancer over 6 years now and have been on chemo quite awhile. I was very lucky that in my treatments I was able to keep my hair until about a year ago when I was put on Taxotere and then I lost it all 11 days after the first infusion!
I was so not prepared, I would have loved to have seen this back then to help cover my ghoulish grey skin, lol. The new chemo regimen I am on turns my skin dark in certain areas which makes me feel like I look like i haven't had a shower in months! Very frustrating trying to not look like the walking dead!
I REALLY appreciate these types of videos. They really help give me tips and ideas for ways to perk up my appearance and not look and feel like I crawled of of a grave.
My hardest part is my eyebrows, I'll be trying some of your tips soon though and maybe it won't be such a struggle.
Anyways, thank you for doing videos like this, they are helpful and I can't thank you enough!

My Mum went through radiation and chemo therapy 14 years ago for breast cancer, and her eyebrows never really grew back and she is still a bit self conscious about it. For Mother's Day I'm going to get her some Anastasia products (I already use it myself), so thank you for this video. She's blonde as well and it is was a very good guide for me (being a dark haired girl).
And it's amazing what you're doing. Helping people while going through something as tough as what you're going through is inspiring, even if it's just to help them see they are still beautiful. I know it was tough on my Mum.
    I've subscribed. :)

Erin, thank you so much for posting this. I usually dont wear a ton of makeup and have always been an amateur. Ever since chemo has been kicking in more and more, I 've had to wear more makeup and your video has been SO helpful. I love your easy to follow instructions and the list you provided at the end. You are inspiring and courageous. Thank you again and I hope this video finds you well. ❤

Thank you for this. I'm on my sixth round of chemo and been doing it for 8.5 years. It's depressing when you lose your hair and your eyebrows and your eyelashes. It's great to see a natural looking tute on how to look 'normal' while going through this.

Thank you so much for this video. I was diagnosed with Sarcoma at the end of December (merry christmas). I’ve been on chemo since February and the last of my eyebrows and my left eyelashes gave up the ghost over the weekend. That was the final straw for me in looking sick. I’ve been watching other makeup vloggers for months, but you helped me get off my butt and actually do something about how I was feeling about my looks. Thanks again, have an awesome week.

Dear Erin, I am not typically a "commenter", but I watched your video back in January before beginning treatment for Hodgkin's and felt so grateful to you. I cried the whole time I watched. Just felt so reassured to know I could put on a "normal" face and hair when I didn't want to advertise to the world that I was sick. I immediately got myself a Jon Renau wig! It's a struggle everyday, but I do find that when I look healthy and beautiful on the outside, it's easier to get myself going so I can get out and do the things I love, that make me feel the same inwardly. Thank you for sharing yourself. Hope you are doing well, two years later!

Hi my name is Emily and I am 17 years old I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in late November! So far I've been doing pretty well. I was petrified when I learned I was going to lose my hair and it happened very fast I have two wigs but I'd rather wear hats right now since it is cold. I plan on giving them to someone who can't afford to buy a wig. Anyway I love makeup as well and luckily my eyelashes and eyebrows haven't fallin out yet and hopefully they won't. I have a PET scan on Wednesday so hopefully that will show that the chemo is working and I will only have to do two more cycles!

This helped me to regrow some lost eyelashes and eyebrows. Some did fall out, but this did helped me get through this time. I love the natural look and the wig. Where did you get your wig. Again, thanks for the video. It has been hard feeling like a person when you lose your hair. Blessings.

As many of the comments below..I have stage 3 breast cancer and had my first chemo last week... Week one has been terrible and would not wish chemo on my worst enemy...during the week I have watched your videos several times and you have motivated me.. I may be sick, loose my hair , plus everything else chemo throws my way. But on my good days, when I feel almost normal I can also look that way which does wonders to the ego and body.Look Good...Feel Good .❤️
Also waiting for my wig to come as my hair, was very similar. I hope your battle is being fought well and wish you all the best.

I lost my hair, lashes and brows during chemo, and I also used the Anastasia brow pomade! It looked really natural, and many people did not realize I’d fully lost my brows. I walked into an Ulta store and asked the makeup ladies what to buy and asked them to teach me how to use it. I found that I relished makeup (and jewelry and clothes) during treatment, because I didn’t want to look sickly.

you are beautiful. I am a breast cancer survivor of 10 years and my hair never grew back like it used to be. its now very thin. I have ugly black circles around my eyes and no eye brows or lashes. I'm finally experimenting with make up and clip in hair extensions. good luck on your journey

I'm new to this - as I had my first chemo treatment 2 weeks ago, head shaved yesterday. This will help me with my make up. You did a fantastic job. One question- where did you get your wig? Love it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your video. Drink plenty of water, avoid tea, coffee, cola which can dehydrate your skin. Also vitamin E is good for your skin and hair. I am soooooo tired of looking cancer, I want me back

I totally appreciate your courage and bravery to make this video. I just underwent a full mastectomy surgery and will undergo chemo soon. I’m a bit scared of being bold. Your wig seems so natural and looks like my own hair. Can u share with me the details of this wig pls? I like to order it as well online if possible. Thx a million. Tina😊
