Originally teased as the Ford Mach 1 during development, the name was retracted due to public opposition. But that's just the beginning of the Mach-E's unique features.
Gone are the conventional door handles - the Mach-E instead features buttons that pop open the doors and a small handle on the front doors. And forget keys - owners can use their smartphones as a key, as well as a keypad built into the B-pillar.
The Mach-E's interior is equally impressive, with a wide dashboard, built-in soundbar, and a 15.5-inch vertically mounted touchscreen infotainment system with a rotary dial fixed onto it. The SYNC 4 operating system allows for wireless updates and control over most of the car's systems. And for the driver, a 10.2-inch digital cluster is featured, while the steering wheel retains physical buttons.
Built on the Global Electrified 1 (GE1) platform, a heavily reworked version of the C2 platform used on the fourth-generation Focus and third-generation Kuga/fourth-generation Escape, the Mustang Mach-E is ready to charge up with AC home charging or DC fast chargers at up to 150 kW.
