I could see combo attacks for Archers, moreso than Cavalry troops. Though I have a hunch that it will be used for any newer "Musketeer" commander that specialize in these "Tier 6" units. Considering how they said the new units are not an upgrade, but rather an additional unit type, this could be something to think about to appeal the new unit type to all players.

I think that on most things you are correct, like always but i think that Lilith is bringing out new formations in advance to give players the option to " prepare " for upcoming commanders. Like the testudo formation. It is good for healing and from what i have seen/heard about the new archers they are based on some crazy healing talents which is combined with also dealing dmg while getting healed. So i guess that there are some more commanders are on the edge were the combo attack thing will defintily play a role like you mentioned at the end of your video. How good these future commanders will be, we will see in some weeks but i strongly think that lilith is bringing new formations etc already out in advance before the new commanders who will use/designed for these formations are showing up. If we see it in a positive way then Lilith finally is doing something for the community by giving us the chance to " prepare " for the future new things step by step instead of bringing in new mechanics, new commanders and new formation stuff all at the same time which will overwhelm the majority of players with gh, gem costs etc especially the f2p/low/mid spenders. I get your point about circle and testudo formations. However, I do use both...albeit very limited. I use Testudo for Richard/Hera in LK for barb chaining and circle for Lohar/Zhuge in HK for the same function. But other than that, yes, I can't see other uses for them. Regarding the new Delta formation, based on your clarifications, if Lilith really wants to go meta with this formation I could see them apply LC-type combo attack buffs to Conquering commanders of ANY troop type. So the trees might be (troop type/Conquering/Combo Attack). City and structure rallies will get truly broken. 😀

my prediction is that the damage types for some of commanders skills will change, like for instance, williams third skill will be a combo attack and no longer boosted by skill damage, this means all damage factors which arent in an active skill will be a combo attack IF its triggered by your commanders troop launching a basic attack, so for example, william and alex launch basic attacks to trigger their instant proc, which may now be a combo attack but zhuge triggers his instant proc damage by removing control effects which would not be a combo attack
I’ve been thinking it’ll end up being my part of a cav rally commander to make Cavs relevant at something again. It could be a super anti swarm rally with Attila that launches extra combos for x amount of seconds with active and then can proc combo’s based on being hit by basic attacks. Maybe the new archer garrison to make it anti swarm since archers are so swarmable, but to make the formation any sort of relevant combo’s would have to proc on counter attacks.

I think cavalry makes sense for combo attacks in real world perspective. First you run over the enemy with horses and then attack them with weapon so 2 attack in 1 turn.
I would have preferred they just made “Combo Attack” apart of the relic of some commanders rather than putting it on the strongest commander in the game.

Nice. This clearly parses out the different type of damage and the intent of the new formation. Unfortunately it also highlights a bunch of loose ends that the devs have left hanging. Healing and Shielding commanders just aren't sexy tho. Maybe they will roll out some new commanders once they implement the new graphics, since that will be enough "Wow" factor to make up for more foundational commander introductions

Here's a comment (primarily for the algorithm 👍) tbh,I reckon this is another bolt on formation that no-one will use and no-one will ever hear of again. I feel for the dev team on armaments and formations, but I will always hate it. It's just unnecessary faff and objectionable gambling. Personally, I hope they keep tacking on bits and bobs until the whole thing collapses, not to put too fine a point on it and so this is a move in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.
