That's not something that someone that's still in the development stage would even be thinking about. Of course there's always room for learning more, but that goes for everyone.
Jwda thefax What you’re referring to is his wisdom obtained from experience which does not necessarily mean he isn’t still developing. I personally believe that Cole will drop a classic album. A part of me knows that that if he still had that raw hunger from his FNL and mixtape days and incorporated that with the experience and artistic growth through numerous albums he developed over the years, he would easily drop a classic. To this day my favorite project from Cole is FNL.

This song released 4 years ago and yet it still hit me with something.
The original sample of the guitar loop is from a song by Edu Lobo titled “Zum Zum”. The lyrics of it were originally written by Edu’s father. The song is a tribute to a friend of Edu’s father, who was a pilot who died in a plane crash. In the chorus of the song, one of the lines translates to “oh, one is missing” (or something along those lines). There’s also a line that references the community impact of loss, in a beautifully written bar reading “the block is sadder without him”.
Bas opens the song with the line “This one’s for you”. It is in tribute to the ones that couldn’t make it with him to the top, or maybe turned their backs on him. It’s a remembrance of good times by telling them in the hook how they finally “made it”, yet still acknowledging the disbelief of it with an “I think” before confirming “I made it”.
But it’s not a diss. It’s an uplift. There’s no flex to be had in the manner of what he’s happy about. Almost as if it’s a call to action; an “I made it! Come meet me here!!” If you will.
If you flip the narrative, it can also be interpreted as he is the one that’s missing. But we can be content that he is well.
