Omg this song brings back a lot of memories when i was a college student in Arizona in the early 2000s and this song and "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling where 2 of my favourite songs during that time
I really love Kason's cool raspy voice. He has that classic rock voice that would really do well on some great hits. There's no doubt though that Walker's voice stood out the most.
OMG, Chance said what everyone was thinking. I rewatched both of their blind auditions again, and they both even did the point when Blake turned around. Excited to see where Blake goes with Walker in the competition. Loved the initial idea of some Highwaymen and old school countrymen, but could also see him rocking some more contemporary alt rock like Fuel. If it wasnt a family show, his voice was pretty much made for "She Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd.
I am not a Blake fan per se but he chose an EXCELLENT song for them. That being said, I don't think they delivered. I was so energized during the other performances....here....I just wanted it to end so I could hear other people. Which is crazy given I ABSOLUTELY love this song.
Walker done an amazing job glad he gets to go on . His vocals are awesome. He done a very nice job with his performance. Kason done a very nice job to . Hope he keeps his Journey of music going for he is a good singer !
I love both of their voices and vibe so much! 💓💘💓 I wish Kason was up to steal I would love to see more voice performances from him as well. I became a fan of them both the moment I saw their auditions. Love them both equally very talented artists!
I absolutely love this song, but I felt this was an average performance from both of these guys. Walker did have the edge on this; however, I didn't feel emotionally connected to the way they interpreted the song - and this song means a whole damn lot to me.
Wow they did amazing Job Bravo 👏🏻 I was 13 years old when this song came out. At a school dance, a boy my age, fell In love with me ( at 13 lmao), and later found the courage to tell me where he saw me first, what song was playing and how he knew I was the one! Now I'm 33 and this song brought me to those innocent days 😅
Kasen's voice is beautiful it needs strengthening sounded like it was giving out on him at times knocking his pitch off. The same thing happens to smokers. At this level and high stakes the voice has to be strong without cracking up.
The battle was quite underwhelming. I feel Kason had more potential but struggled through the performance. Walker only won because he was more composed and in tune, if not I’d have picked Kason because of potential.
Exactly! It felt like a struggle and I kept waiting for this song to take off. I’m a little disappointed. I really prefer the deeper rasp of Kason’s voice to the higher buzz of walker (at least on this song), but Walker seemed more in control today, so I understand why he won.
I agree expensive Kason was just overwhelmed do to singing with another person which I'm the same way which is why I wish battle rounds was cut as far as rounds go and have something different like part 1 knockouts for battles instead and then part 2 knockouts after all the artist completes part 1 knockouts
I agree on that Kason disappointed me here I was more of a fan Kason then walker in blinds but here walker stood out this is why the battle rounds are my least favorite part of the show not everyone sings very well under pressure around another person
I agree Kason was pitchy in the beginning of the song, but he certainly improved as the song progressed. Walker, on the other hand, had a tone that cut through me from the onset. Admittedly, I know this song well, and Walker's voice matched better to the original artist - like a hand in a glove..
@@amyelizabeth529 and that is why I wish the battle rounds WASN'T a thing not everyone Is going shine in a group performance this is by far the stupidest round unless they add 3 way knockouts again which was also trash last yr
Just because their voices sound like the song doesn’t mean they should sing the song. This song is too classic if it’s being performed it needs to be spectacular
this is a great song, and very difficult technically to sing, and they did great. it's back when bands were real and 'discovered' by record labels, with songs that suit their singers' voice. like 'like a stone'.
I love this band a lot they are never really sung on these shows and stuff I liked kason a lot I'm sad he's gone but keep rocking dude the Dexter Roberts version had me shook it was beautiful but this was good to
Kason starting us out with all that gruff, so comfortable on stage. Walker was a bit less gravelly but represented well. They're vocally very similar. They had good chemistry. Kason simply stole all the focus for me, vocally and visually.
I felt like Walker was more consistent, and Kason didn't exhibit enough range, and was more all over the place. I liked Walker better this time around, just my opinion though!
@@robertantonnyc Lol, I appreciate the reply! You obviously know more about music than I do, so there's no question that your opinion is more credible than mine, I just like stating my opinion 😂
I feel like walker can hit higher notes and was holding back. His stage presence needs some work though. This performance overall lacked energy and presence. At times it kind of felt like Walker would sing his part and look at kason like "ok your turn" almost as if he didn't want to sing that song. Felt like Kason struggled a bit to take it up higher at one point but their voice tones are pretty similar just walker sounds a bit more clear without feeling like there would be any straining.
I love their voices for this song, especially Kason's with that raspiness that he has to it. That being said I would have to say I prefer Samuel Harness' version of it, from 2 seasons ago I believe it was, better tbh
Walker Wilson singing this song was a great surprise. Sad because Kason Lester has a great voice but it seemed a little bit strange. Hoping he comes back next season!
It's like the Coke-Pepsi taste tests. Put them next to each other and the sweeter (brighter sounding) one always wins. Kason to me has sort of an Eddy Vedder tone, really classic.
Great performance! I just kinda missed the passion. It should've been more heartfelt/ quiet. Being here without someone you love, makes you kinda sad and thoughtful. One of my fav songs. Thx
This was a no-brainer, Walker was more consistent, and better, so there really was no chance for Kason! Kason should've showcased more range, then it might've given him the edge; he didn't go very high.
I felt bad for Jason he has tried this before ie: American Idol but he has not yet figured out a way to make himself unique while be battled against his best friend Walker who won because Walker has a unique distinctive voice like Willy Nelson, may not be perfect pitch, but you know it is him singing, stands out like a fire engine.. just a gift from God.
Very solid modern rock track from a great album. However in my opinion, they should have sang Blurry by Puddle of Mudd or Higher by Creed to showcase the singers to the max...both singers were solid.
Think the song was better suited to Walker’s voice (yes, the brightness of the tone and grit), which I think means Walker may have the ability to sing more genres, do more with his voice. I’d choose Walker.
This wasn't one of my favourite battles of the night, but I still think they both delivered a solid vocal performance. I think Blake made the right choice by choosing Walker though. I actually preferred Kason over Walker in the blinds, but I feel during this performance, Walker's voice definitely stood out more, and I feel he also has more of a voice that fans of this show typically gravitate towards.
These two really under delivered on this song for sure.
Under?
Omg this song brings back a lot of memories when i was a college student in Arizona in the early 2000s and this song and "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling where 2 of my favourite songs during that time
they should form a band. they blend so well.
I thought the same thing!
They do
I’m so glad that Chance said something about the two of them looking alike. If Walker did not wear a hat, I would have missed who was singing what
Yeah....they be twins.
Voice is kinda diff na😂. One is sharper and one is raspier
Kelly dying when he said that xD if a white person said that about two people of color, wouldn't fly too well
😂
I still don't know Who won this battle 😂
I really love Kason's cool raspy voice. He has that classic rock voice that would really do well on some great hits. There's no doubt though that Walker's voice stood out the most.
two hard rockers looking at each other in the eyes and singing Im here without you baby ...
😂
Ikr.😂
Chance said what we were all thinking lmfao 🤣🤣🤣
Kelly and Blake both have a great sense of humor and that’s part of why I watch The Voice
They would be so good as a duo
OMG, Chance said what everyone was thinking. I rewatched both of their blind auditions again, and they both even did the point when Blake turned around.

Loved the initial idea of some Highwaymen and old school countrymen, but could also see him rocking some more contemporary alt rock like Fuel. Fun fact !!! I live in Panama City Florida and my good friend is FRIENDS WITH KASON !!! Said he’s always striving to be better !!!!
Kason and Walker sound amazing together
I am not a Blake fan per se but he chose an EXCELLENT song for them. That being said, I don't think they delivered. I was so energized during the other performances....here....I just wanted it to end so I could hear other people. Which is crazy given I ABSOLUTELY love this song.
You said my mind totally… I expected more.
I thought it was just me feeling that it sounded flat.
Same here!!!
exactly what I thought, very smart choice for song to really see who could eat this song and challenge themselves
This is an amazing song and they sang it beautifully really good job to y’all.
Walker done an amazing job glad he gets to go on . His vocals are awesome. He done a very nice job with his performance. Kason done a very nice job to . Hope he keeps his Journey of music going for he is a good singer !
The twang in Walker's voice on this song is really interesting, it threw me off at first but I ended up loving it.
Same.
When I heard the song they would be singing, I figured Kason would win it... Walker killed it! I hope Blake gives him some rock songs.
Am I seeing double? They look like twins! Even their voices are very similar! They both have a husky, raspy texture and tone to their voices.
I love both of their voices and vibe so much! 💓💘💓 I wish Kason was up to steal I would love to see more voice performances from him as well. I became a fan of them both the moment I saw their auditions. Love them both equally very talented artists!
Kason ,and walker did an incredible job tonight great performance vocally wise walker stood out more.
I can't choose. Both are awesome!
I absolutely love this song, but I felt this was an average performance from both of these guys. Walker did have the edge on this; however, I didn't feel emotionally connected to the way they interpreted the song - and this song means a whole damn lot to me.
I knew they were gonna be paired together. Their voices is🔥😍
@3:05 the start of Kelly almost losing it laughing 😂
as the voice rocks out the stage...a song from my playlist...nice job guys!
They were stumped in looking for differences between the two 😂
PS: loving what Chance says at the end. Such a sober viewpoint. 💖🙌
Both great! I preferred Kason’s laid back unique voice and style that oozes gratitude.
Que bom ver esse sucesso dos anos 90 no the voice em 2023, essa musica é linda... como fez sucesso aqui no Brasil
Wow they did amazing Job Bravo 👏🏻
I was 13 years old when this song came out. At a school dance, a boy my age, fell In love with me ( at 13 lmao), and later found the courage to tell me where he saw me first, what song was playing and how he knew I was the one! Now I'm 33 and this song brought me to those innocent days 😅

Kason and walker did incredible jobs tonight and I thought Kason deserved the battle round win tonight
The battle was quite underwhelming. I feel Kason had more potential but struggled through the performance. Walker only won because he was more composed and in tune, if not I’d have picked Kason because of potential.

100% Walker was in-tune and consistent. Kason has more rasp but was very flat most of the song and was really underwhelming.
@@mynameisabe905 So sadly true.
I agree expensive Kason was just overwhelmed do to singing with another person which I'm the same way which is why I wish battle rounds was cut as far as rounds go and have something different like part 1 knockouts for battles instead and then part 2 knockouts after all the artist completes part 1 knockouts
To me battle rounds don't show the singers TRUE potential solo I in fact get confused in battle rounds as to who tf is singing
Walker had this all the way!
Wow!!! Great job 😮
Both did awesome vocally, but Walker looked more comfortable working that stage, performing.
Choosing Walker was a no-brainer here❤ The humble boy stood out.
90s ❤song is the best.
Their voices are so matched. Reminds of some Samuel from previous seasons. Season 21 I think.
These guys has perfect chemistry , whether win or lose these guys needs to start a dynamic band together....
Again both perfect together, how do you choose
I would have voted for Kason in a NY minute. He has a real rock voice and I pray he goes far!😊
Tonally, I prefer Kason’s voice.
I like Kason's voice! But I think He could have done so much more with that voice!
Kason seemed out of tune the whole time. But Walker's sound is incredible
Shut up no one cares.
I agree on that Kason disappointed me here I was more of a fan Kason then walker in blinds but here walker stood out this is why the battle rounds are my least favorite part of the show not everyone sings very well under pressure around another person
I agree as well

I like both of them but I think the right person won and that was Walker, just love that growl in his voice!
One my favorite songs
There both so good ❤❤
This song reminds me of when I was 3 years old and my mom and dad when they were young parents 😢
Just because their voices sound like the song doesn’t mean they should sing the song. This song is too classic if it’s being performed it needs to be spectacular
Brokeback Mountain Feels❤❤❤
Die Kombination aus den beiden ist krass
Blake always did good choices, i'll miss him in the voice 😢
Finally, some good music on the show.
The winner I could listen to him all night.
this is a great song, and very difficult technically to sing, and they did great. it's back when bands were real and 'discovered' by record labels, with songs that suit their singers' voice. like 'like a stone'.
Like a rock?
Walker voice has something that stands out.
I love this band a lot they are never really sung on these shows and stuff I liked kason a lot I'm sad he's gone but keep rocking dude the Dexter Roberts version had me shook it was beautiful but this was good to
I knew it. My intuition never falls
Kason starting us out with all that gruff, so comfortable on stage. Walker was a bit less gravelly but represented well. They're vocally very similar. They had good chemistry. Kason simply stole all the focus for me, vocally and visually.

Expected more from this battle given the song.
I feel like walker can hit higher notes and was holding back. His stage presence needs some work though. This performance overall lacked energy and presence. Walker is like a baby i love him
Sad kason go hope he keep his journey of music going forward he is such a great singer.
Love ❤️
Chance's sense of humor keeps sending kelly into fits of giggles is my favorite. Love these judges together.
Best preference
Hands down it goes to Walker
Kason sounds awesome in this song. He won this battle IMO.
Walker Wilson singing this song was a great surprise. Sad because Kason Lester has a great voice but it seemed a little bit strange. Hoping he comes back next season!
I still love Samuel Harris version of this!!!
they look the same and have a very similar tone. both great
I gave a thumbs up because it’s my favorite song leave the comments to the judges I just 😍 ❤
It's like the Coke-Pepsi taste tests. Put them next to each other and the sweeter (brighter sounding) one always wins. Kason to me has sort of an Eddy Vedder tone, really classic.
OMG Angela! Walker Wilson won the first round!! #Rude Men#MS🐊♥️🙏
Great performance! I just kinda missed the passion. It should've been more heartfelt/ quiet. Being here without someone you love, makes you kinda sad and thoughtful. One of my fav songs. Thx
I'd like to hear them more of what they could really do, the song fits their looks 😍💙💛❤️
This was a no-brainer, Walker was more consistent, and better, so there really was no chance for Kason! Kason should've showcased more range, then it might've given him the edge; he didn't go very high.
😊😊😊
Kason should have won this and I'm from Knoxville but love his voice alittle more
I honestly think the song didn't showcase their voices.
Not sure why, but Kason's performances always seem a bit off to me...
@chance, we don't care why you didn't steal a said artists! I don't think anyone was expecting Kason to be stolen!!!
Kelly's face said it all 😂 same Kelly same
I felt bad for Jason he has tried this before ie: American Idol but he has not yet figured out a way to make himself unique while be battled against his best friend Walker who won because Walker has a unique distinctive voice like Willy Nelson, may not be perfect pitch, but you know it is him singing, stands out like a fire engine.. just a gift from God.
they sound so similar i couldnt decide
“But he kinda plays with it” 🤣
Walker 1 all the way ❤
Controversial take: Samuel Harness is not shook
Very solid modern rock track from a great album. However in my opinion, they should have sang Blurry by Puddle of Mudd or Higher by Creed to showcase the singers to the max...both singers were solid.
Creed song would have been perfect for them to hash it out
Kelly’s laugh>>>
I feel like they're both pitchy, but I think it's because they're nervous.
Walker had def more control. Kason has space to grow. They are both great but Walker has a bit more power vocally
I liked them both! 🔥 I think I prefer Kason though only bc his tone seems to be true rock where Walker seems to have more of a country twang.
Seriously..... walker hands down man!!!
Kelly face showed she was just not into it. And honestly, same
Think the song was better suited to Walker’s voice (yes, the brightness of the tone and grit), which I think means Walker may have the ability to sing more genres, do more with his voice. I’d choose Walker.
Kelly 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg Chance is a character!
Walker definitely
This wasn't one of my favourite battles of the night, but I still think they both delivered a solid vocal performance. I think Blake made the right choice by choosing Walker though.
