The Whole Santos Dummont and Wright Brothers argument will never end! Can we SHUT UP ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE! We come here to watch a damn video and not listen to people complain about who invented the airplane first.
The Brazilians will always say Santos Dummont and the Americans will always say the Wright Brothers! WHO CARES?! We have been gifted with the ability to fly! so stop arguing!

I wasn't expecting the writing: DAYTON AIR SHOW. I only saw the squadron 2 or 3 times, including the old days with the Texans.

best planes of the squadron of the smoke slow to watch a presentation full of effects, than super jet planes that you can barely see. only if you hear an annoying noise that hurts the ears. :)

I agree dude im brazillian and i think BLUE ANGELS are awesome too!! but our smoke squad has a new equipment and whit this equipment its possible draw thing like "DAYTON AIR SHOW 2007"

Those guys made us very proud (I´m a brazilian too). This airshow was in the 50th aniversary of the USAF (1947-2007), right ?

@rodfran Errr..all sites and wiki says he pioneered the balloon travel and provided new stuff for aviation tech as well as made first public european flight. But he didn't invent planes. ALSO wright brothers didn't invent planes. They were the first to successfully fly a heavier object w/ man in it using machine power (ie. engine). They got their ideas from Otto Lilienthal

@rodfran I saw the Smoke Squadron at Dayton, and when it was their turn to do their show, most everyone got up to get food or check out the static display of planes, most did not watch the Smoke Squadron show because after watching the high speed, extremely loud, fast moving and exciting Jet display team it was like watching a B&W silent movie made in the 1920's compared to watching the Transformers in full 3D High Definition.

@zaphr89 The 14 Bis could take off fly and land on it's own. The Wright brother's flying machine could not.

@rodfran he Wright Brothers did not invent the plane just as you said and Santos Dummont did not either, because that was not the Wright brother claim to fame, it was that they were first to fly! Wake up
Wow!! Are you using that magic clock that hermione in harry potter uses to slow up time? Must be hard to fly 24/7 in 120 years without it.... There goes your credibility...
@rodfran A head on pass with closing speeds of nearly 1100mph about 10 feet apart is something the "Smoke Squadron" will never do. Have you ever seen a T-Bird show or an Angel show? and had the jets sneak up on you from behind at over 500mph to where it scares the shit out of you? That will never happen in a T-27 because they are to slow.
@rodfran It's much easier to fly a slow plane in a multi plane display team than a fast one, because everything is happening 10, 20 times faster in the Jet, there's no comparison. The jet pilot will always be the superior pilot for what he has to accomplish during his routine.
They are also jet pilots!!
But some of them are jet pilots too tho
@rodfran The problem with the Smoke Squadron is they are boring to watch, everything seems like it's in slow motion because the planes are slow , have terrible excelleration, climb rate is horrible it's just not fun to watch especially after you just saw the Thunderbirds fly 20 minutes before them.
@rodfran Most people have never even heard of the Smoke Squadron outside of Brazil, everyone know's the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds around the world for a reason, they are the best without argument.

Ya mean I can't comment on a subject that someone else started the bad mouthing of the oither countries demo teams? That's not the American way ya know with free speach and all ;-) I'm sure the Smoke Squadron is a fine prop based demo team, just not in the same league with the Thunbderbirds or Blue Angels. Sorry
@rodfran You have no clue what it takes to fly wing to wing in high performance jets like F-16's (USAF Thunderbirds) or F-18's (USN Blue Angels). The T-27 Is basically a trainer and has no where near the power, speed or complexity of a high performance jet. Your comments have no basis and make you look the fool.
