Squarebodies Invade Moab! Blazer Bash 2019, CK5.com Club Run - Hells Revenge, Flat Iron, and More!

- Moab is best enjoyed with friends. This time, I head back with my buddies Kurt and Kris, and join up with the good folks from the CK5.com message forum. I’ve been a longtime member there, and have learned a ton from that group of contributors. We get together each year for a reunion trail run out on the slickrock - not necessarily hardcore trail action, but more of a friendly get together and hootenanny. Come with us as we enjoy some of our finest public lands with great friends from the squarebody community.
Be sure to check out the Blazer Bash event sponsors listed below, and support those businesses.
This is the last major trip the suburban will run in its current rock crawling setup. Everything has to evolve, and its time to move on to its next iteration. Forward.
Thanks for watching - let’s roll,
David

This video was worth the wait. Pacing of the footage was great... often times large group trail run footage can feel repetitive as each truck hits the same obstacles. Good variety here, with a nice selection of music, engine/tire noises, monologues and impromptu interviews mixed in. Solid. #BAREMETALBLAZERBASH2021
Really appreciate the detailed feedback, Greg. This was a difficult edit, and I learned a lot from the process.
I’m excited to hear your big block fire up, and look forward to seeing your project progress on the new space.
What a great video beats anything on the mainstream.Squarebodys for the win.
Thank you for those kind words. Glad you're here.
Had to come back and watch without distractions. Thanks for the work David
Lots of fun to relive the trip, and I’m glad you liked the edit. You’ve captured some great shots.
Dam perfect video. Stunning story telling, views, and of course square bodies . Thank you for this
Glad you enjoyed it. It was a great adventure, and I'm really excited to get back.
I keep watching your adventure episodes to see how a square burb looks dominating the trails...and no matter how many times I watch, your burb always looks killer! Can't wait to finish my burb build and hopefully join you guys for the fun! MERICA! 🤘🇺🇲
Time on the trail is time well spent. Hope to see you out there.
Very well made video. The sights, the scenic views, the music, the narration, the obstacles, the vehicles, the people, the vibe, the attitudes of the people in the video, etc. Everything gets an A. You are ready for your own TV show. Keep up.the good work and keep us giving us more of these cool adventures. Thank you and congratulations.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! More adventure stuff is coming once I get the Rev5 update done.
AS A NEWER MEMBER OF CK5.COM, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME HANG WITH YOU GUYS. RIGHT NOW MY 77 K5 IS PRETTY MUCH STOCK, BUT I'M SLOWLY WORKING ON IT AND THIS REMINDS ME THAT EVEN A STOCK RIG CAN COME HANG OUT WITH EVERYONE!!!
There’s room for us all. CK5 is the best spot to enjoy some good truck folks. Welcome.
What a great video! I love that you took the time to create a longer length video with stories built in about the vehicles and the drivers. I look forward to more to come!
Thanks dude. So much good content from the group.
Yes it's a cool video y'all doing a good job and I appreciate the video I'm down here in Georgia watching
Wow, you got this down. Great video. You caught the feeling of Blazer Bash for sure. It's family whether you've known people for years or just over the web. We had a blast for a first time there. Thanks for the shout out to the #crawlabagos. Keep up the awesome work Dave!
Thanks Rob. It’s a top notch group of folks, and I think that’s uncommon for the internet. It was great wheeling with you, and I look forward to BB20.
Great video! Good storytelling and creative shots. I think you really captured a special trip. Subscribed and excited for more!
Thanks, Peter. I’m glad you’re here.
Its really cool that Chris hansen got into off roading😂 love the burb
That blue and white blazer with the white steelies!!! All of theses square bodies are beautiful but that one has the look! Beautiful example of a 70’s square
Yeah, Jesse built a good one.
Awesome vid love that suburban and that green army truck I wish I Could come to Moab deff on the bucket list
There’s no place like it. The KOA cabins are the best way to go - inexpensive and clean. Spend money on fuel and tires!
Hi David, just wanna say: "perfect video", nothing to add, say or remove about !! Greetings from France !! so I really in love with Sub': the StationWagon moving and roaring in Moab is just... no words !

Awesome video. Enjoyed it even though I'm a Jeep guy. I can't say enough about how good it was. Thank you.
Thanks man. Plenty of space for jeep folk on this channel. Cool is cool, wherever you find it.

Great video. I use to own an 81 blazer but I am building an 96 burb overland now. Thank u again and take care.

You'll really enjoy wheeling it, and Moab is a great place to spend time.

Fantastic video brother!
Much appreciated!

Good wheeling with great people. That’s Moab.
Good wheeling with great people. That’s Moab.
Man! I wish you were at BB20. It was my first time, and it was absolutely a life changing experience. I got to wheel briefly with Kurt, I’m sure he filled you in on “no left turn” then Brandon in the K30 going in for the rescue. I didn’t get to participate in that fun, but I’m sure it was wild! I hope to see you at BB21!
Count on it. The truck will be ready, and so will I.
Awsome video!
🙌🙌🙌
Found this video looking for flat iron trails, I'm definitely going to try and put my truck up the chute.
Have a blast man.
Glad the off-road design crew was OK!!
Same here!
Great video and Suburban!
What type lift and tire size would be a good starting point for a K-10?
I know it’s a loaded question, thanks
Heya thanks for joining. It’s hard to argue with the utility of 37s. Keep it low and stable with 4” and get to trimming.
Cool video. Would’ve been fun to have video taken on pritchett canyon.
While we didn’t run Pritchett on this trip, go back and check out Trail to SEMA 2018 when we took the suburban down there.
Willomet Motor & Fab I joined a few of the blazer bash guys on it this year. It was rowdy.
Hey -- what seats do you have in your burb? I've got the bench and looking to swap it with something
Corbeau sport seats are my jam
What you’re looking at WAS a 95 Toyota.
Ha! True!
Hope to go here one day
It's worth the drive, and you'll quickly be hooked.
Yeah I bet I run a 1981 j-20 Jeep pickup I have a 355 small block 400 Turbo Chevy. np205 out of a 79 Ford I run a front High pinion reverse cut Dana 60 out of a 79 Ford Dana 60 rear and lots of other goodies I've had my Jeep for about 19 years now love hitting the trails.😎
Think a stock axle with front locker k5 will cut it ?
I think you could cover several trails in Moab in that truck.
Top top top is the dream
👍
man! i had 86 k5, dang rig was my love! my question where'd they all go? hard to come across one , well for less than $30000 :(
They're out there, with plenty of builder-ready desert cars just waiting.
9 months away! What’s up
Do you have a build thread on the Diesel Burb?
I do on CK5
@@WillometMotorFab Build Name?
I see tons of GMs around me and on YouToob running the Hummer wheels. I'm wondering why this is? Are they exceptionally strong?? Also, I suspect....the Hummer bros all put 26 inch on their trucks so the stockers are cheap as on the secondary market...?
H2 wheels are the cheapest way to get into a forged 17. They're a great value if you can handle the 5-5/8" backspacing.
Wonder if my little 89 S10 Blazer could manage anything at Moab. 🤔
There are some easy, scenic trails - go and try!
@@WillometMotorFab thanks! I will have to someday its so beautiful there.
Link suspension and Cummins swap in the works🤔?
There are plenty of Cummins swapped squares already, but links are a next logical step.
@@WillometMotorFab can't wait to see what comes next
New to four Wheeling weres this place at
Moab
Kurt if your gonna wear that shirt you need to have a bike with you.
His Toyota tractor does the occasional BRAP. Does that count?
I think there was room for a couple of bikes on that trailer.
