I have mainly used mine everyday during the winter to open up from padlocks on the gates at my work when it’s below freezing. Just shine the light next to them and down the key hole and it seems to work faster than a small butane torch
Thanks HarleyWood! You have been my go to no BS flashlight review channel for the last year or so, really honest and very thorough reviews! Thanks brother, God bless!👍🙏🇺🇸🤙
That's an insane amount of light and they did a great job with that reflector in order to get some good throw out of it. Also really impressive how long that turbo mode lasts - they obviously did some good work with the heat sinking!
I'm thinking about buying this light but the thing that holds me back is the non instant power button, I hate this half second delay . I want to have turbo instantly.. any recommendations would be nice.
Great review on a great little light . I just got this torch yesterday and what I’ve seen so far everything you said in your review stands up. I have a bunch of lights some of them heavy hitters like the AceBeam X75/K75 and a bunch of other heavy hitters. I have to admit for its size this little guy is a lot of fun to play with.
Its getting near the time of the year where I'll be getting poachers sneaking and hunting the deer on my land, the last straw was when they had hunted down a roe deer with dogs and it had its hind leg torn. They left the deer intact, didn't take the meat and took only its antlers so I've declared war on the poachers. Anyways, to get to the point, thank you for your thorough review and comparisons, I'll definitely will be ordering a fenix and can't wait to make the poachers shit themselves when I light em up.
I'm wondering how all those 3 flashlights will do against the Strealight HL5-X 3500 LUMENS, WHILE MUCH LARGER ONLY 85 BUCKS, and a monster on all aspects.

I would love to see more reviews on flashlights with a longer stem. With Usb- C ...charging ports. With a magnetic tip, and a lanyards.. These are the things that makes a great flashlight. Wow‼️I’m impressed and am thinking that this would really work when searching for my black cat at night outside. When he gets out. My neighbors would think it was the cops 👮🏻 I bet! 😂🐈⬛
the 3000 lumens mode run time is poor for dual 21700 and i bet it quickly steps down from 10K lumens mode due to heat. they look good and paper and reviews get all excited but there not as good as they first seem
The lumen war makes most manufacturers raising the maximum brightness level, even for just a minute or less. In practise pretty useless but it's fun for showing off the light. So it's actually heavily overpowered. The real usefulness of such a light is at mid and high mode.
That’s why I won’t bother with this light, the run times are poor running on two 21700 batteries. Even in the lower settings 1200 lumens with only 3.15 hours of run time. My Fenix B30 bike light has similar run times on two 18650 batteries. Even my little PD36R will run for 6 hours at 800 lumens with only one 21700 battery.
@@goforbroke2 Check out Thrunite and Acebeam. Yes, they also have turbo levels only available for only some minute. But the user interface is much better than Fenix in my opinion. Turbo is directly achieved by a double click and is therefore not included in the memory. This means you can not by mistake put on turbo and you don't need to wonder if you left it on turbo last time you used it, or not. They also have firefly mode only achieved by a long click from off. I really like this interface. With Fenix you need to turn off the light at a low level to not undesirably have turbo next time you put it on. Whatever mode you used last time you can always get firefly mode if you need next time you use the light.
@@reahs4815 Even with (2) 5000 mAh batteries the runtime is not impressive for running such big cell batteries. My Fenix B30 bike runs on (2) 18650 3500 mAh batteries at 1500 lumens for 2.3 hours. I like Fenix products but wouldn’t bother with this light.
Realistically, both the fenix L35R and nitecore concept lights are around 1800 lumen lights with a quick 1 minute burst turbo. Neither light holds more than 2000 lumens for long. Nothing to sniff at, but nothing to be amazed about either, there are smaller more compact lights that can sustain more. These days flashlight marketing is very deceptive, 1 minute turbo and actual sustained output are 2 different things, the latter IMO is the true potential of a flashlight, although it's nice to have a quick burst of lumens.
@@whokilledjr3719 if it had some way to cool itself it could stay on longer, I notice mine kicks itself off turbo way faster in the summer when it’s already warm vs winter
Fenix's turbo modes often last up to 15 minutes compared to under 5 minutes for most other flashlight manufacturers. I do agree that marketing a flashlight as 6000 lumen when it can do that for under 1 minute is bad and its mostly useless. But you should be impressed with these small flashlights being able to supply all the current needed for the LED's to emit this much light.
@@reahs4815 really depends on which flashlight you're referring to. I have the fenix tk75 which has a 20 turbo, although it's a much larger host . This flashlight in the review is around 2 minutes, it's been tested. Just to be clear and I've stated this already, it's not bad and better than what's offered by others such as olight or nitecore. I won't buy it however as for my uses I'm interested in what happens after turbo, and there simply are smaller flashlights on the market that do outperform this flashlight. Several thrunite lights for example sustain 2000 lumens upwards of 30 minutes in smaller hosts. I'd like fenix to have similar performance. That being said, your eyes will barely perceive the difference between 1000-2000 lumens anyway regarding the actual hotspot, spill in floodier lights however is more perceivable
I got a Nitecore I4000R, 4000 lum from a single 21700 battery so it actually fits comfortably in any pocket and the greater the light head circumference is the easier it will break...... but god damn that Fenix beam is impressive!

How long does the Turbo mode last before it steps down? Great deals on them now. I've been eyeing up this one for a while. Thanks for the thorough review.

Yes, you can replace the two 4000 mAh cells with 5000 mAh cells, for a nice 25% increase in battery capacity. There are no 21700 cells larger than 5000 mAh. It'll cost you around $50 for the two larger cells of decent quality.
@@alexsisk sweet. Thank you
This video just sold me a Javelot lol..
Except, he’s claiming 2000, when they’re only 1300 lumen
@@D3X1M3REMIXED perfectly fine. I had the original 2 Javelots. Both of them were damn near lasers you could land small aircraft with. I will be getting this new one.
Just ordered mine hopefully it won't take 2 long 4 delivery
Looks like that’s better than a olight, is it?
Build quality is the same. Aesthetics is very subjective but I really like the Fenix designs. Olight just has a more diverse product lineup.
It really depends on what your looking for. I personally don’t like the operation on the fenix lights, but I really love the operation of olights.
Fenix is perfect Mama
Mate Just seen your Video, Bought it right away.. i have been looking for a good flashlight for a while now cheers
Push and hold is deal killer for me, nice review though.
Its good as you wont activate the light by accident, with 10000 lumens you can start fires
its not that bad at all; i was skeptic in the beginning too, but i actually like it after few years of use. no worries about switch it on in backpack unintentionally. also like the way fenix dealt with battery level indicator.
thanks bought one...love it
its not too hot to hold this thing im hand without gloves on turbo or high mode?
If you keep bumping it back up to the 10k, it will get too hot to hold. My PD40R was too hot at 3K lumens so I sold it. I just never liked that light lol. I love this one, though
it's not a flashlight, that's collapses sun!
I'm thinking about using it for self defense. What are your thoughts on such usage?
olight maruder2 more suits for you,Because it has an attack head that can break the window of the car, it also has 14,000 lumens.
You could try the Nitecore TM10K or TM9K...
Great review!! Thank you.
I just bought the 10k with 2 extra 5k batteries
Pppp
Great video. Amazing tool the Fenix.
That's wat she said😂😂
Horror movie characters desperately need this.
A big flashlight and a 1911 .45 with 4 or 5 10 rounder magazines. And a good Tops knife.
I cant believe noone does accent on the TURN ON scenario, for me important point is if you choose a setting of medium power and shut the light off, the next time you turn the light on which setting it will turn on from????
Wow, noone can explain this to me...
From the website...
Intelligent Memory Circuit
The light memorizes the last selected output of general mode. When turned on again the previously used output of general mode will be recalled
Whats the mat on her work station?
Great video but what is making that noise🤔
That's the sweet sound of cicadas, it's really cool once they come out. It can definitely bother some people but I love them
@@Spunion95 ...gotta love the cicadas. I love that time of year (in PA, that's now) when you hear them.
Hi bro , is it use a unprotected battery ?
It uses a protected battery. Only use fenix batteries with it for best result
Amazing, but I don't want to go to yet another, different battery. I already feel like I am running a Radio Shack. 18650 and lower for me.
Price please
I bought at the Fenix website for $159.00 with a 20% coupon they are offering/ plus no taxes.
Saved 60.00 bucks/ regular price 200.00 plus 10% taxes/ would have paid $220.00 in Amazon or wherever.
Sweet review and comparison
just purchased
