They make really good knives yes
Yep. Liked this one
Absolutely stunning! I can't wait until they're back in production!
Yep. They slowly working through this mess. They'll be back
@@2ndchancegeorge they do work now! They help Ukraine's armed Forces alot. BPS production is working, but no exclusive options so far unfortunately.
Yep. Happy they back
@@2ndchancegeorge Thanks for the heads-up my friend, but they're sold out :(
Argh......bummer.
Thank you for your review. I was this close to buying it, but I don't buy knives than t aren't full tang. You saved me some money and buyers remorse
Glad I could help. I am a fuff tang guy aswell...to be honest I bought it because I liked the look. I don't think I will use it . Appriciate the support.
That's how I been building knives and sheaths for over 40 years to
I used to know how to do that stitching, I was taught back in the day when I was in 4H. The material used is a flat leather lace. And its very well stitched. It is called an "Over Molded" full tang, like Buck knives uses on the 100 series of sheath knives. I suspect the lanyard hole goes through the tang. If you want to be sure, get a high powered magnet and check it out.
Thank-you Iwill do that.stay safe
thats a dandy George,bless n keep mate.
Yes it sure I'd. Thanks for watching
Cool blade George really good boy buy your self sumpins good old buddy you deserve it great guy
Some times you gotta spoil yourself 😆
That is an awesome knife. It looks awesome and it seems like it would last if you actually used it but it looks too nice to strike a ferro rod. Lol. I think you pronounced the name right. Lol Great review George
Thankyou big guy. Much appriciated as usual
I’m hooked on bps knives now. My woodlore arrived yesterday. I even did a vid on it if your interested. That’s a lovely looking blade. I’m not sure If I’d get one. I think it should be full tang being a heavy knife and all.
Love them great knives.I will check the vid out thanks
This guy is almost as interesting as watching grass grow!
Sorry to dissapoint you. But thanks for watching. You be safe.
Nice hat
Lol thanks for watching. Appreciate it
Not something I'd go for myself - I'm more budget than that! It is stunningly beautiful though, and I think the fact it doesn't have a 90 degree spine shows good finish an comfort if you choke up which is likely as it's such a big blade.
Most ferro rods come with a scraper anyway, and I start fires with a lighter, but take a ferro rod as a back up.
I am with you there. I would not normally spend that money on a knife. My usual limit is 1/2 that. I use the b1 normally. And yes...lighter first then Ferro rod. Thanks for watching. Be safe out there
I wouldn't worry about the rat tang. All of my Scandinavian knives have rat tangs and they take whatever task I throw at them....even batoning. Although they are normally made from 80CrV2.
Yes I agree. I dontbabyse my knives so the chance of breaking the tang us slim.
I wish bps made a different version of the adventurer but with this blade design, atleast this thickness and grind i think high scandi
That woyld be nice. But uts just price. Thanks for watching
I feel you must have been really loving your new knife.
And I also want to have that knife but have a question and concern about the Tang.
It's not a full tang but a rat tail tang, so does it have any pros and cons for that tang type?
i think the blade is very thick and heavy, so rat tail will be good enough, but I wonder it should be full tang for the more strongness or not?
Do you have any opinion on that?
I prefere full tang. It's just stronger. But I don't think it's a rats tail, but maybe a 1/2 Tang. I think it will be just fine. Thankyou for watching
Beautiful knife! Now lets start smashing it with a log to see how it batons. Lord I hope not. Should be great around the camp. Take care of it!
Lol...I get nervous when doing that....its my budget on the line....lol. thanks for watching and vommenting
Ummmm. That was meant to say commenting.....lol. auto correct...the horror
I have 2 BPS knives. Excellent! They do have a 90° spine which I really like. Maybe you could use a strong magnet to check how far the tang goes. Great review!
Thanks for the support. May just try the magnet idea. Thankyou.
Where can I get a SPAM hat?
Google spam museum mn. The website has a store. They have a couple different ones. Thanks again for watching
Hey George, just discovered your channel around a month ago.....which part of SA are you originally from ? By the accent Im going to guess KZN ?
Lol....nope born in (Rhodesia) Zimbabwe. But my Parents came from Pretoria.they moved up before I was born to small mining town. ....Asbestos of all things. Glad to have you along. The support is appriciated.
@@2ndchancegeorge Ah.....Rhodesia was my 2nd choice on the list. All good, im checking some of the older videos out too, very well done .
Thankyou
You know the old saying lol buy once cry once.
I'm still crying...my budget is still recovering...lol
nice knife. if you have old knife can you share it to me 😂🗡️🔪
Lol.....I have lots.....I would send you one, but I don't think I can send to Phillipines.
i almost boght it, but then realized it was 6mm thick with a partial tang in D2.. these bps partial tangs have a bad reputation of breaking at the handle ( i have 12 of thier full tangs, but the only one that broke was the rat tail carbon blade that is very similar to that) i just dont really think a relatively brittle steel like d2 is a good match for a 6mm blade that people are going to think is strong enough to thwack on and pry ... its a very contradictive blade
I agree. But to be honest I cannot see me using it for buttoning etc. For me it's just a thing of Beauty. The non full tang is an issue I am well aware of. But hey, it's pretty cool looking you gotta admit. Lol.....thanks for watching. And of course the very true comment.
That's not hand forged, it's hand faked.
It's not a full tang, it's D2 steel which is OK, but not a good High Carbon steel.. It cost $102.80 and only has $10 worth of steel & $5 worth of leather, & $5 worth of wood.
Get a 1095 High Carbon steel or s30v and make your own for a third of the price and twice the quality...
You are probably right. But I like the look and personally I dont have the skill to make one. Appriciate the comment and support thank you
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇦💪
Yep. Very good for sure. Be safe
