Ontario is simply jam-packed and very capitalist in nature thus ultra-competitive..they can charge cuz the population needs to eat. Elsewhere there is not nearly such demand.

      @Dstinct 27 днів тому +1

      @@georgeluongo2051 HST is a harmonized sales tax that is found in provinces where they combine the PST and GST. Some things don't have GST or PST on it, so only one of those shows up on bills. GST is a federal tax like the US has, and PST is a provincial tax, no different than a State tax in the US.

      Butane is put into winter gas to make it easier to ignite in cold weather. It is also cheaper than gas, so that brings the price of gas down as a filler. Problem is that it has a low evaporation temperature and is highly flammable, so you take that out in summer gas, unless you want to pay for something that is just going to evaporate and make your tank dangerous if you are in an area that gets incredibly hot.

    According to CBC news, an energy expert, Dan McTeague, says higher gas prices each spring are partly due to the change-over in fuel blends, going from the cheaper winter blend to the more costly summer blend of fuel.
    "There is a chemical differential, and that's pretty substantial. In the winter, we use butane as one of the primary mixtures," he said. "When it gets cold, you want something that ignites better."
    "When it's warm, you don't want something that's that volatile. In order to reduce any damage to the environment, you blend it with something called alkylates, which are extremely expensive."
    And I believe the blend change is a scam to rip off the consumers.

      That's because so many in our country are gullible. Even if the carbon tax went away, it would change very little. Keep blaming it though, it's super funny.

    One of the many perks to driving truck over the border to Kentucky is that i can buy US gas in cans and not buy Canadian gas at all. Here is some simple math: 3.39 (a gallon) x 1.43 (current exch rate) = 4.85
    4.85 / 3.785 (canuctard liter) = 1.28 a liter.
    You Lib voters sure like shafting yourselves, don't you?

    Why is gas averaging 90c a litre in the US? Are they not gouging in the us? Also, its,a,coincidence that areas with the most taxes on gas also have the highest gas prices. Weird
