I wonder how many of these comments were made without watching the video. Seeing as most of the complaints were addressed, I'm going to say at least half.
Jup. Turns out when creators with a sizeable of followers are going Apeshit the afterburn is pretty much felt quite some time later. Also came from the crab crab video. Bummer that I haven't seen the comment section when I watched this video the first time.
Weird really. I don't even play SC2 but still wonders where he got his numbers from. Funniest shit : when people tells him other numbers, he answers by saying "well they don't communicate their numbers so you're wrong". OKay.. So where did you get yours from ? - cue radio silence
Honestly game got a huge second breath with arcade, modding and co-op. Being more casual player - it was really nice just to play different mods and coop with cool commanders with different untis, abilities and play styles. I was never into competitive games or esports in general, so having coop\pve-focused mod was pretty nice for me personally.
And then they killed the PVE Mode. We should be glad we got the last big update for the Commanders, giving them all 3 different subclasses. If it had been according to the SC2 owners we wouldnt have gotten that.
Coop mode was so fun. All the different types of faction / rts types in one. Reminded me of overwatch a little, in the sense that ow is a combination of many different fps types.
arcade was the biggest let down of sc2 lol, no individually hosted lobbies meant only the most popular maps ever got hosted. there was no incentive to make new maps and the scene never even came close to sc1 or wc3's. the next big rts will be the one that does UMS/CUSTOM/arcade correctly and revives the scene.
Bro this is not how you respond to criticism. Make the Video pin the comment explaining your view that's it. Why you had to go on this charade? You could have made a vid on lost ark for example that game is really dead.
I think this video tries to paint the wrong picture. I dont see Starcraft II dying out in the next years. And I don't see StormGate or ZeroSpace killing it either. The Playercount of the game even though its all estimated numbers, is at an alltime high. Much much higher than the playercount of Brood War. The only thing dead is Blizzards support for the game. That does not mean its dead.
@@nerdSlayerstudioss i dont see what pkger said what tells you Starcraft 2 is dead. The game is still played by a lot of players especially in PvE like coop and stuff
@@nerdSlayerstudioss huh ? video - "estimates that the game has less players than AoE 2" - gets pointed out that this is wrong by the comments. If Activision Blizzard doesn't declare Sc2 numbers, how can the author claim that the Aoe2/Sc ones are bigger? And why did the EWC organizers chose Sc2 when those other rts are bigger?

Dead? The playerbase is quite healthy, the matchmaking quick, and there are tons of professionals playing the game at a level higher than ever. The last important tournament had a prize pool of 1.000.000€ So... dead isn't the word. Even Starcraft 1: Broodwar still has a very active professional and casual playerbase.

On the other hand however, you are basically "asking for" people to berate you because you're replying to accurate critique with "waah you're a keyboard warrior waah"
@TayzerLazerGames I couldn't agree with you anymore Last month there was a tournament who got first placed won $500k so I wouldn't say this game is dead

I don't really think StarCraft 2 is a dead game, It still has a big following and thanks to creators like GiantGrantGames the arcade/modding scene is growing. I am someone who grew up with the second game,I have countless good memories and bad ones! It certainly can be a frustrating game if you play multiplayer, but I was always more of a singleplayer/coop guy. Speaking of which the games Coop mode was great it is a shame they shafted it so soon, from what I could tell the devs were really passionate about it. I'm gonna be honest I don't think it will truly be a dead game for along time just like how Brood War still has a large community to this day.
it was dead the moment they released wings of liberty, they ruined everything, story gameplay everything. but hey at least the graphics look shiny......
I dont think starcraft really died. The game still has enough draw to have established pro tournaments. I love the value of the custom games, and no other modern game platform offers that much variety now. I hope stormgate does the same
I don't really think you are being entirely honest, if you think this scene is thriving...mate it's smaller than multiple iterations of this SAME game lol. Your opinion doesn't matter much past a point, if you don't acknowledge my points or the game realistically.
@@splatmarina It's a niche genre cuz blizzard screwed up. When you make the learning curve of a game insanely high, and difficult for the average gamer, catering to pros, you will inevitably destroy your player base.
@@cy6324 Arguably it "died" because gaming shifted hard towards FPS and mobile. RTS is quite hard and the 1v1 aspect is terrible for the ego. The genre was always on a timer.
I don't think it's fair to say Starcraft 2 failed. It was a highly successful game that lead the charge for esports on a global scale. Other companies would love to have a game as successful as this one was. Not all games need to last forever to be considered a success. I wouldn't say Half-Life 2 failed because it's currently a dead game. As a side note most RTS players only cared about single player, and campaign in RTS games. This has been mentioned many times by Blizzard, and other RTS developers. They enjoyed the campaign and loved it then moved on. That's okay.

starcraft 2 is dead, ruined by the devs, they butchered the lore and gameplay, nothing but snowball and armor units that do way too much damage. sc1 > sc2

Wonderful campaigns? I hope you mean custom campaigns because the main campaigns are horrible story-wise. Only Wings of Liberty is good while Heart of The Swarm is the worst (due to Kerrigan in general and her "redemption arc") and Legacy of The Void (for a ton of other things with Kerrigan getting away with everything).
@nerdSlayerstudioss How's the StormGate shill coming along? Seems to be one of the worst received RTSs in recent history other than reforged. The game is almost DoA, mixed reviews on steam, with controversies concerning their microtransactions, lack of a fleshed out campaign, being a sad imitation of SC2, and imbalanced PvP. Looking at the steam charts, the game came out 2 months ago, and is sitting at a little over 500 active players as it's daily peak. We gonna see a death of a game about Stormgate considering the mass player exodus compared to how many people were playing the game in the first week of its release?
Over 70k games played per day (more than AoE), multiple million dollar + winning players still going strong, million dollar tournament starting tomorrow, hundreds of thousands of views on SC2 games that occurred just this year on multiple channels, content creators putting out videos that get 50k+ viewers every week. Yeah, very dead game kekw. If SC2 is dead, then this channel is decomposed & rotting.

what I find funny in this video is that with your arguments dota 2 is also a dead game. It also stagneted for a long time, it also gets updates much less frequently and it also lost a lot of players in the last couple of years. So unless you think that dota 2 is dead, you cannot really claim that sc2 is dead
@@Winters004 dota has 476,610.4 average players curently, in its peak it had 700k average players. Dota undoubtadly is past its peak. I don't really understand this video. I guess it's only from the competitve PvP point of view. Because as a campaign and PvE player, SC2 was a success. The game offered a lot of content, the best quality of life of any RTS ever (UI, pathfinding). It has been supported for 10 years before being shelved. It's easy to learn, hard to master. And there's tons of community-made content, from the SC1 remake Mass Recall to the coop versions of the campaigns. I replay through the campaigns every year and play coop regularly.
It wasn't a success in Blizzard's eyes, because of the amount of return didn't match the investment in their eyes. The game is set up to release content endlessly, but it's been on a skeleton crew for _years_ now. When was the last time they released anything worth mentioning? It's frankly in the same boat as HotS.
Blizzard needed to change their focus and direction, to cater to the casual crowd in order for SC2 to be successful, as in past tense, because it was already too late that Blizzard was already ruined long ago which I didn't realize back then
i think most people swapped to mobas because it's a lower skill floor, Ik me and my friend group did when lol came out over playing pvp in starcraft though nowadays i'd rather play aoe2 over a toxic moba game. Co-op and customs was the highlight of sc2 imo so many incredible game modes
@@StolenTheifHow is SC2 not easy for newcomers ? It literally has the best tutorial of any RTS game. Starts with minimum interface, teaches how to select units. AoE2 actually has a lower population than SC1, let alone SC2, let alone both combined. Blizzard not releasing their player numbers lead to these types of misconceptions. This is a really weird video, the game is in decline and has been for a while - sure. But I honestly can't understand why the dude has to lie so much to make his points. I don't play starcraft, neither version, so I followed ONLY THE SOURCES HE LISTED HIMSELF - and SC2 Arcade by itself, ignoring 1v1 and coop, has more players than every active Age of* games combined (I included AoE2 DE, 2HD, 4, AoM EE and Retold - per steamdb). So when he says that AoE kept a bigger playerbase than "probably" SC1 and SC2 combined "and it has done it through frequent updates, healthy competitive scene" etc., it is just an outright lie. When he says there's more people playing SC1:BW than SC2 he is also lying or misreading data, there are more players in PC-Cafes playing SC1:BW than SC2 - but from his sources there are 40k korean players in SC2 arcade, but only 35k players in SC1: Remastered in total, globally. He says that the game isn't controversial to cover because "not only it has had a mass exodus [...]" and even mocked commenters for not understanding the english language... But exodus implies large numbers at once. I couldn't see in any graphs when an exodus occurred, just a steady decline in player numbers. Maybe he means the game is a shadow of its former self, but he clearly doesn't understand the english language enough, if indeed that is what he means with "exodus"... Abandoned by blizzard? Sure. Mass exodus and never recovered? No. Not reaching the heights it could have? that is an over-indulgence in ideal hypotheticals that there is absolutely no way to measure, but in the comments the creator states that it is a 'fact'.. Not to mention that the "updates" of Age of Empires are scenarios, but he completely discards that the community still creates a ton of scenarios, at least equivalent in quality to the ones in AoE 2 "Reasons for failure" and saying "why SC2 failed" is crazy, by all measures it was a success. You should learn about words, don't be a dolt, nerdslayer... It would be odd IF the older games were played more than SC2, but unfortunately (for you and your narrative) it isn't the case. Again, you say "it isn't doing well", which is true by some measures. But there is no older RTS doing better, so I guess it is doing "well enough" for an abandoned game.
Classic big corp behavior. They don't look how much something should cost. They just invest how much they wan to bet in expectation build on incorrect calculations. So, they over-invest in attempt to grow faster than possible and under-invest afterwards to compensate for money they threw out before.
If they made a fun game, people don't mind throwing money at it. FF14 is a game that many consider fun, including me, and I've found myself spending money on outfits for glamour because I wanna make my character look cool by mixing and matching pieces of gear
@@OMartinez91 With big publishers, Issue is rarely that games does not make money, most often is that it does not make money as fast as publisher expected it to. Also they compare two projects they have, see that one makes more money, and invest into it more. Often than means that one project starve, and other project, already being close to peak, starts to lose effectiveness, because it's physically can't make much more.
Game isnt dead, just doesnt have the cultural influence it once had. Still my personal fav rts by far. The death was more of a genre thing imo rather than the game itself. The montezation thing is a huge deal and its something they really need to figure out for the genre going forward
Some advice - always a bad idea to force content simply because you need a strawman for an ad or can't figure any other way to hit an upload cycle. You can see from your replies to the comments that you have emotionally invested into your preconceived conclusion, while a large part of the viewer-base disagrees. This is alienating viewers who would otherwise be repeat customers for you, and new viewers like me who have not yet subscribed and just found you, all for some ego insecurity issue and/or some need to justify shilling Stormgate (another game I like, btw). It's much healthier for your long-term channel goals to be honest and upfront, if this is an ad you can just say so at the beginning and jest about whatever game you want being "dead" after and no one will be put-off. But you have to at least get your numbers right, and you completely botched that element. This is a common theme for mid-tier creators just trying to force content out. Anyway, take it or leave it.

Nostalgia and depression. Sc2 was so good and fun for a time. Sad what happened to blizzard. The ow2 bs really the final nail. That could of done a lot if they actually made all that stuff

@@nerdSlayerstudioss No, I don't disagree with much of what you said. Blizzard made stupid choices, and was full of asshats, if anything this video is more a chronicling of how crappy Blizzard became when Activsion took over, through the lens of what we publicly saw happen with SC2. The game isn't really dead though you can hop on the latter and get a game in a couple minutes, or less so there's quite a lot of folks still playing the game. I would agree that it's dead to anyone who wants more story content, but is not, and never was, the entire audience. I do agree though, as you say, SC2, and the overall franchise, is not doing great either, I really do hope Microsoft does something with the IP, and hopefully that doesn't come with a monkey paw curling. I didn't mean to come off as "lol game exists, not dead dumbass," and I'm sure you get plenty of that kind of comment. I honestly think you pulled the trigger on it being "dead" a bit too early. If nothing changes in a maybe a year or two though, you'll be spot on. If MS does nothing, I think the new RTSes coming out soon will pull the majority of what's left of the player base away.
Yet another cheap, pointless video repeating all the same arguments about SC2 death. Not every game needs to be a service and continue forever. I for one appreciate how SC2 turned out to be. It's a great, finished game that I have very fond memories from, both from the competitive events and playing the campaign. It's like a good tv series that has a few great season and a memorable send off. On the other hand I don't have any memories from LoL, even though I played it more. The game went into so many circles, back and forth changes that at this point they seem meaningless, and are done only for the sake of it with no real goal at the end. I do remember the swarm hosts domination era because it was special, one of a kind thing. One great thing needs to end so you can invest your time into another great thing. For me, closure makes the life more fulfilling.
This wasn't at all how you described, IMO next time you want to make a post people give a fuck about maybe actually try to consume the material. No offense if you don't I don't really care about your personal opinions mate.

I was one of the weird players that played more Co-op and custom arcade games. It was some of the best times working with other people as probes to work on our own tower defense. Co-op was my bread and butter and I always enjoyed helping carry those in need through difficult missions to help level up their commanders. Particularly during covid when they allowed players to be any commander for free for a time. The learning curve was what kept me from staying too long. I had not participated in the main multiplayer much knowing my own weaknesses as a player, and the general skill level of the people I would be up against would be a frustrating at best. I think Stormgate has that learning potential I never managed to grasp in Starcraft 2.
How is it even possible to not know how you lost when there is a robust replay where you can see exacly what your opponent did and where you failed to counter it?

This is just not true, a simple google search would have seen that SC1 is #17 on hours watched alone last 30 days, at 19,549,738 hours And on top of that, SC1 in Korea peaks at concurrent 40-55k concurrent players and has 30-50k concurrent viewers on their streaming platform most of days on peak times (afreeca). On top of that, there's also literally millions of dollars going in every year just funded just from viewers and by viewers alone on streamer tournament content called daily proleague lol. But no, it's not on twitch/west, so it must not exist! I'm korean and just click on my community tab on my channel and scroll down a bit and you will see that daily proleague $ count figures there if you want to argue about viewer figures.
@@nerdSlayerstudioss and the figure seems pretty damn close on aoe2 activity to sc2 even if you discount huge sc1 figure since its in korea and doesnt seem to count for you.
@@nerdSlayerstudioss and I'd like to add, with your video on heroes of storm on death of game, I figured SC2 had it's moments coming as well since it has fell very far beyond its glory days and when it was on top of it all. And it would be well justified since it's big fall from the top. But to back it up with straight up untrue figures or stretched figures where it's just 1 google search from it being incorrect is what is bothering people (aoe 1.6m hrs watched vs sc2 1.2m hrs). That is very far from glory days but to say aoe dwarfs SC2 is a very big stretch, esp when you factor in lack of tournament for this month. And then you added SC1 into the mix where its 10-12x bigger (19m hours) and it's just not flat out true at all

I would not call it "dead". It is still the most sucessfull RTS for over 10 years. Multiplayer RTS is a really niche genre. Tons of people stay play Co-op or the Arcade. Moders did a lot of custom campgains in the last few years.

If the game is being kept alive by the community only, it's basically a corpse that's being reanimated by the sheer force of will of the community. It's the same situation with Team Fortress 2. It's basically a zombie that's being kept alive by the community, but it's still a dead game to the developer. The game is dead and inb4 yes I am aware that Valve did push out a temp fix to a public server issue after years of nothing.
SC2 is dead? If i ladder, i can still get games in reasonable times. Custom-Game Lobbies are full, there are at least 3 youtubers shoutcasting matches almost daily and some even host tournaments. There's SC1 vs SC2 mod (Think they call it SC2 Evo), which combines brood war and SC2, and it's taking off so much in korea right now, they host tournaments about it too. Sure it's not as populated any more as it was when it launched, but SC2 is now 14 years old, 10 years if you want to calculate from the release of legacy of the void. Most games would very much like to be this "dead"
The replies in these comments from you are definitely pushing me away from watching your content. Youre having quite immature reactions to criticism for a game that seems quite far from "dead" just less updated than others.
All of that whining and tone policing me to make the same dog shit argument with your fee fees. That's comical. It hasn't been updated in a year and a half, which means it actually HASN'T been updated like the others.
how is this game dead? ppl still play it, there are still tournaments happening, and the koreans prefer starcraft 2 over fentanyl, not sure where this guy gets his info.
Even if the claims were true, which they aren't (daily professional tournaments, near instant matchmaking queues, unbelievable value), these videos just come off as click bait at best, and misinformation at worst.
@nerdSlayerstudioss I tried to watch. It was not entertaining. I don't feel the need to explore why someone believes a game to be dead. The whole series has a "dude won his own made up argument" feel to it. It's hard to believe you aren't doing more harm than good with these kinds of videos. Seems like rage bait to up your discord numbers. No such thing as bad PR ?
Why is this guy hating on everyone who comments? Sounds like a cry for help. You never know what people are going through :/ Hope everything is all right!
Stormgate under 100 twitch viewers, playerbase dipped below 500 players less than 2 weeks after early access release. EWC for Sc2 peaked over 60,000 viewers, still over 70,000 games daily for 1v1 alone, millions of dollars for teams and players. Very premature video. Sc2 has an uncertain future in terms of sponsorship and tournament organizers now, people have to weigh up the respectable numbers and see if they are respectable enough to carry on investing. Playerbase is decently sized, still a lot of vested interest, but not much new blood. Sc2 is the king of RTS un disputed, and it will remain this way for considerable time yet.
I have so many memories of SC2. I got the game as a gift close after launch when I bought a subscription for a gaming magazine, played it a few times, but it didnt really appeal to me back then, the campaign of WOL wasnt my cup of tea and I didnt understand how to play it in multiplayer. Then I went to college and met a friend who played the game a lot, we spent so much time together taking turns to play matches, watching pro games, analyzing replays, inventing new build orders to beat people with on the ladder. One summer we just holed up at my parents house for months and all we did was play Starcraft 2 for 10 hours a day, with occasional breaks to play other games. I remember we played a 4v4 once, where one of our Terran allies was almost completely dead, all he had left was 1 ghost and 1 nuke. He cast the nuke at a seemingly random spot on the map, and 2 maxed out protoss armies walked into it and died. The ghost got 99 kills on expensive protoss units with 1 nuke, I still have a screenshot of it saved on my harddrive. We won the game. Another great game was a TvT my friend played, he went bio and the other guy went mech, harassing with blue flame hellions. The game went extremely long and eventually got into mass raven versus mass raven. They spent 2 hours throwing missile turrets at each other, slowly picking off buildings after the map had mined out and they both ran out of money. In the end, It was 2 and a half hours in, the final battle came down to a single floating barracks vs a burning missile turret. They were both spamming turrets in 2 places to try to kill the other guys last building and end the game, while protecting their own last building. Came down to a photo finish. The missile turret went down when my friends floating barracks had 3 hit points left. He didnt even realize he had won the game until I started shouting. Truly an Epic Gamer Moment (TM). I will cherish those memories for the rest of my life and I wouldnt have wanted to spend my summers in college doing anything else. We are now both a bit older but still play the game sometimes and watch all the IEMs, ESL tournaments, GSL, and Im excited, with some trepidation due to the location of the event, for the EWC this August. Hopefully with the Microsoft acquisition of Blizzard, they will show the game the same amount of love that they have put into AOE2 over the past years, and it will experience a revival. While it is now a 14 year old game, the engine still holds up very well, and it is imo the best RTS ever made. You could argue Brood War has a better pro scene and better game balance at the pro level, which I agree with, but from a technical point of view, SC2 is a much better made game. I hope it will get new content and patches to make it as good as BW is at the pro level.
The irony is that what somewhat revitalized interest in SC2 a little bit (in Korea at least) is with the help of its predecessor SCBW. There's a custom game called SC Evo Complete that allows players to also play the BW version of the races in SC2 engine and it's been quite popular for a while.
The difference between SC1 and SC2 races are so big that you begin to question the design philosophies between the two games, especially thematic integrity
@@alport1331 A great mod which is why I wonder why didn't Blizzard do that themselves. I mean when SINS of a Solar Empire split their 3 factions up into Loyalists and Rebels the same could be done with BW and LotV. @@razorback9999ablethat’s funny to hear all these years later. And just went back to playing brood war. I don’t think I’ve ever ran into anyone else who ended up doing that. The game got a lot better when they replaced Browder as designer.
StarCraft will never die. It is one of the best science-fiction stories ever told. It has it's cohesive, believable story and captivating characters like no other. This "dead" game currently is one of the few games being contested at the biggest esports tournament of all time, with a 6 figure prize on the line. Right now, it is in the top 30 games being watched on twitch. Would you say that type of thing happens for a "dead" game? Whatever your arguments are, you shouldn't have labeled it "dead", as it carries a really clickbaity connotation. I understand what you're going for but it's still flat out wrong. The game isn't dead. It's a lot less popular than it used to be, yes, and many tournaments have ended, and itll probably completely die out in a few years. But as of right now, it is not "dead". Not by a long shot. You've got a good thing going here in this series. Don't ruin it by reaching too hard.
No updates does not mean the game is dead. A polished game does not need to be updated every month. Its just not for everyone.. but the community is still alive and kicking!

I had such fun moments with family and friends with this game when it went free-to-play. I just wished they made the casual player's experience better. Starcraft 2 tried to retrofit the casual and pro experience together, which was bound to fail. I hope Stormgate will swoop the dust of RTS and bring it back to its glory!
I was in the midnight event for StarCraft 2 release. The music played. The crowd went wild when Terran 1 was played. And somehow, StarCraft turned out to not be this Space Western but a generic "oh, the big bad must be redeemed" kind of Story Blizz was far to fond of for a while. Wings of Liberty was awesome story-wise. Heart of the Swarm really made the Zerg interesting. Legacy of the Void really tried... but failed miserably at the epilouge and with the copout of "shadow void" units rather than design a fourth race for the Campaign. Multiplayer? Oh, I guess people care about that. I did once.
All the campaign stuff involving amon was never great, but all the stuff surrounding it was really great with interesting character moments and new lore. Overall i still think it had a great campaign across the three releases but that was in spite of its villains and plot not because of it.

@HieronymousLex same.
While I agree with a lot of this comment, I wholeheartedly disagree that SC2 is easy to learn especially for people new to the genre

@@StolenTheifHow is SC2 not easy for newcomers ? It literally has the best tutorial of any RTS game. Starts with minimum interface, teaches how to select units. After that it teaches basic macro with Terran, then Zerg and finally Protoss. All in the form of a mini-campaign. Takes less than 15 minutes.
Then you have the campaigns themselves. WoL starts slowly with a cool story and basic missions.
AoE2 actually has a lower population than SC1, let alone SC2, let alone both combined. Blizzard not releasing their player numbers lead to these types of misconceptions. Otherwise, some good points have been made in the video and it is cool that you used the video to promote Stormgate :)
Edit: Since my answer isn't going through for some reason I will copy-paste my reply as an edit.
I don't know why you made the assumption that you played SC2 more than me or that I wouldn't have receipts but anyway.
For SC1, it is quite easy actually. You log in to battle net at Korean prime times and see that it has over 25k concurrent players logged in to its servers. That's about the same or slightly higher than what AoE2 is getting (DE + HD combined) these days. You can maybe argue that AoE2 also has some players on Game Pass but SC1 players don't even count those who are playing the campaign, single player skirmish or hanging out in the main menu. At best, we can say they have similar player numbers. What you said about AoE2 having more players than SC1 and SC2 combined is clearly false just from these numbers.
For SC2, Blizzard used to hold summits with content creators and provide additional info. TotalBiscuit said that during one of these summits, devs mentioned SC2 had 2 million monthly active users. That's in 2017 but shortly after that summit, SC2 switched to F2P and actually show an increase in playerbase. Someone on reddit did some calculations when Blizzard was sharing more info on the client and came up with the number that SC2 had around 60k concurrent players without counting co-op:
www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/6w5lku/updated_starcraft_player_count/
And co-op is the most popular mode as mentioned several times by StarCraft 2 devs. We don't know about co-op numbers but since then, ladder playerbase has remained mostly stable:
sc2pulse.nephest.com/sc2/?season=60&queue=LOTV_1V1&team-type=ARRANGED&us=true&eu=true&kr=true&cn=true&bro=true&sil=true&gol=true&pla=true&dia=true&mas=true&gra=true&page=2&type=ladder&ratingAnchor=5638&idAnchor=272715207&count=7#stats-day
So it stands to reason that those numbers would be similar today. Co-op numbers might have dipped as that mode relies on new content but the numbers didn't include co-op anyway.
These numbers show that SC2 is clearly still the most popular RTS (I am hoping that changes soon with Stormgate's release).
Not to mention that the "updates" of Age of Empires are scenarios, but he completely discards that the community still creates a ton of scenarios, at least equivalent in quality to the ones in AoE 2
"Reasons for failure" and saying "why SC2 failed" is crazy, by all measures it was a success.

I dunno man... SC2 is still going quite strong. I think you pulled the trigger a bit early here.
Based on what? And can you disprove any of the arguments made? Or even try lol

@@nerdSlayerstudioss What wasn't how I described? Not pointless? cheap? repetitive? Just count how many times you mentioned lack or infrequency of patches/updates for SC2. Also, you just showed that you actually do care about my opinion by responding, and claiming twice (in two sentences) how you don't care :D

This is just not true, a simple google search would have seen that SC1 is #17 on hours watched alone last 30 days, at 19,549,738 hours
And on top of that, SC1 in Korea peaks at concurrent 40-55k concurrent players and has 30-50k concurrent viewers on their streaming platform most of days on peak times (afreeca).
Huh? You are referencing SC1 on a SC2 video??
@@nerdSlayerstudioss you talked about how aoe more active than sc1 and sc2 combined?
And then you added SC1 into the mix where its 10-12x bigger (19m hours) and it's just not flat out true at all
At this point its like Macaulay Culkin

I would not call it "dead". It is still the most sucessfull RTS for over 10 years. Multiplayer RTS is a really niche genre. Tons of people stay play Co-op or the Arcade. Moders did a lot of custom campgains in the last few years.
There's also the resurgent modded campaign scene. Which seems to be breathing new life into StarCraft two.
AOE2 is infinitely more successful by every metric, and I cringe when supposed RTS fans like you pretend only WC and SC exist. Yeesh.

I hope it will get new content and patches to make it as good as BW is at the pro level.
nah these replies are wild this video has more value for the comedy factor that is the comments than the video itself LOL
Well, since game isn't dead title must be click bait.

Starcraft will always hold a special place in my heart. This made me want to play the campaign again... this is sad
People in the comment section had really shitted on your head man with this one
