Wow Selmar, I am a Canadian of Dutch descent (post war parents) and I was captivated every moment. I have never been to Europe but I know I could spend days just walking around and admiring the churches... spectacular...just spectacular...
Great walk and great video 😊 thank you for posting. Some alleys are intact from previous wars and torns. The architectural design is splendid. Without doubt, these are marvelous and remaining from tartarian civilization.
This is blowing my mind I live right next to that brocante market!! So crazy seeing people I watch walking by my window everyday, passing in your video... What a small world huh?!
Hi Selma and Diesel, what a beautiful place Gent is and wow what a church! Missing you and Tatiana together but not as much as you must be missing her, can’t wait to see your future together lots of love xxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pictures are unreal. Such amazing Architecture & history! So many Amazing Churches all together, I am sure that represents much story & history. Would definitely visit if I could. Thanks for sharing your video with us! (The Castle was unbelievable with all its towers.)
¡Buenos dias Selmar! Thanks for taking us along as you tango your way across the Low Countries while waiting to rejoin Tatiyana. We too can't wait to see your castle!
The Ghentians have accepted the stadshall as one of the many authentic buildings in their town. Ghent is one of the most beautiful places in Belgium because it is not a museum, it combines the old and the modern. Stubern, proud people with an open mind. Love your impression of this magic place 💕
🇨🇦 thank you for taking us along to visit Ghent. I'm visiting family in Germany leaving this Friday. I hope to visit Netherlands and Belgium. Safe travels 👋😷👋😷
Used to live in Sint martens latem, a beautiful , quiet village just outside of Gent, I am originally and at the moment living in Slovakia, so your video Selmar, floods back so many memories.
the church is beautiful and probably more spectacular on a warm sunny day with the light going through the stained glass. The town is so nice! It has been a while since I have been there. Thank you for taking us along!
Such an impressive structure, the Castle of Counts! It is ancient. And I wonder what was there before the wooden buildings of the original structure were built? Beautiful to see the architecture and river in Gent! I've never been to Den Haag, Brussels, Netherlands, anywhere in that region. Thank you, Selmar and Diesel! 💗
Good morning Selmar, I was totally blown away by the beauty of the town called Gent. Thank you so much for sharing, Gent is going on the list of places I’m going to visit one day what a truely beautiful place. Sending a big hug to you and the beautiful Miss T from Tasmania xxx
Dear Selmar thank you for the beautiful walk through Gent. The churches are so beautiful, I love old architecture, can you imagine the history behind such old beauties? I am not a fan of modern buildings and to me, they do not have character. There are quite a few folks walking around the city without masks something that is required where I live in Northern California. I am loving hearing the peak of the church bells as you are walking. Love and hugs to you and Diesel. Say hello to Tatiana, I’m sure you’re missing each other very much. I saw her video clip with the wonderful little ducks and they looked quite happy but a little annoyed with her being gone so long but it was nice to see them. Have a wonderful week Sellner. 🐶☮️🥰❤️😘🙏✨🤗🎼🍂🌾🍁🌹💐☮️
Hey Selmar, glad you enjoyed our beautiful Gent. And yes, there are quite a few churches but the tower that played Sinterklaas kapoentje is the belfry ;-) and the one with the two smal towers is the old postal building. Did you go to see 'the lightfestival' at night? That's what the moon you saw on the graslei was about. Hope you can join Tatiana soon and also look forward to seeing you back at La Lande or at your own chateau!
So great you offer him a parking space, Amaury! I think Selmar would love Bruges even more than Ghent. I studied in Ghent but I live in Bruges. I like Ghent but I love Bruges.
Good morning Selmar…I am so sad for you and Tatanya… I hope you won’t have to wait too much longer to be back together… So happy that you have found love with each other. Have a great day
Beautiful city. Loved the tour you gave us around. Great pity you couldn't go into the castle but perhaps another time. Beautiful churches virtually everywhere you looked definitely didn't like that modern monstrosity of a so called church. Look forward to your next vlog Selmar. Keep safe.
That modern building is atrocious what are they thinking when they built that there between historical buildings it takes away the historical charm of that town, it’s a monstrosity. Those churches are magnificent, so beautiful and the architecture is amazing. 🌈
Well Selmar, if you liked Ghent, the city where I studied, than you will love Brugge (Bruges), the city where I live. Amaury of Castle Ten Berghe offers you a parking space! You really should visit Bruges one day! You will surely like it. Maybe together with Tatyana as it is a very romantic, medieval city and a lot smaller than Ghent.
Enjoyed the walk around Gent. Why oh why would they build such a monstrosity in the center of that square between churches? Its almost as if they want to mar the beauty of this scene of antiquity. Thanks for taking us along. It's a beautiful berg in spite of the ugly building. Love all the churches that were preserved here!

The flower market on a Sunday is also great. Really miss my trips.
Spent many times there. Love the place.

Amazing walk through Gent!
I wish we could have visited together, but it was lovely to see Gent from the sofa. 😺❤️ The larger clock tower is spectacular - so beautiful.

Gent is heel mooi heel veel mooie oude gebouwen
I agree Selmar, modern buildings put in the middle of beautiful old cities or towns just doesn't work. Thanks for the great video of Gent.
Thanks for this beautiful view of Gent.
It is very beautiful there 💕
They didn't have much choice , they were in filling after they had cleared out the rubble from the bombed out buildings.
Belgium has some great places to visit, also Brussels many lively Sunday markets, brocantes and much more. Please come both Tatyana and you to visit.
Agree with you on the modern building and modern art. The building looks so wrong there! I so agree!

Absolutely beautiful architecture
17:40 the old port, with Gravensteen castle behind it
Thank you Selmar, always wondered what Gent was like as we pass it on our way to the Netherlands.
Think this was your best vlog Selmar and the sound was perfect as sometimes I found it hard to hear you. Keep safe.

Hello Selmar, Thank you for sharing the views, have a wonderful day!
The Castle of the Counts is awesome. It is old..you'll have to take Tatiyana back to see the whole thing.
Medieval Magical
Love the castle.

I did a little count and there are 12 churches in Old City of Ghent with majority being Catholic.
Amazing and beautiful video Selmar. XXX Hope you and Tatyana are doing good XXX
Good morning Selmar and Tatiana. I have counted 21 churches in Gent on the map. That is indeed a lot
Oh! I miss that place..I was there before the pandemic 😷 2019/11/18
This Brussels?.... I think 🤔 the Low Countries is very pretty 🤩
Thank you Selmar, for the lovely tour of Gent! What a history filled beautiful city!
You see the canals. We have a long canal and we skate on it in the winter where I’m from .

I'd like to know the history of the large building that's not a church. Belgium are more reserved? Wealth?
Selmar do you have a dog carry bag with you for if Diezel gets too tyerd to walk?
👍💐

Lovely Selmar. Did you find a little gift to give to Tatyana for when you meet up? ❤️
Oops one day we will visit.
That modern bldg/ church was probably built after WW2 damage. I think Gent was an unofficial head of the church in mid evil times? Not sure
Veryi nteresting, but once again I missed Diesel
Is Gent, the same as Ghent or Gaunt as John of Gaunt who married Katherine Swynford ? He is my 21 x great grandfather
Same Ghent, Flanders. Which of his children is your lineage from?

No cars a alout in the city grz x
Preserve the old. Stop with the ugly mundane office blocks. Refurbishment and preservation is needed
That castle was amazing. I’m with you Selmar. I really don’t care for modern architecture.
