No other sports league in the world has the personalities the NBA has and if they do they didnt market them like the NBA did. When Stern decided to market Bird and Magic it changed the game. What we are seeing with all these NBA players as far as television, podcasts, radio, fashion, social awareness is all direct result of that decision and other things. Plus athletes are alot smarter now than in my generation and above. These kids arent just passed etc like they were. It still happens but not same. Even the non stars are setting themselves up very well. NFL personalities just don't have it outside like Deion and Pat McAfee. NHL nope. MLB nope. Even worldwide soccer players arent equal even tho they make more.
