Central Texan here. Fluffy speaks the truth about the tree roaches. LOL! When I lived in AZ with roommates and they freaked about seeing a cockroach, I always told them that at least they werent 2-3" and fly at your face! Haha! They didn't appreciate that. I called AZ roaches itty-bitties. 😂😂😂
@@stormangelus6638 that’s not why he’s thinking about it. It’s because he sold out Dodger stadium and he just can’t imagine anything better/more than that
Native Houstonian. He's totally telling the truth about Texas roaches. I'm surprised they're that bad in San Antonio, though. Typically, they prefer coastal areas.
I’m from Hawaii and we have big ass flying roaches 🪳 as well. I now live in Texas. A big roach was crawling on the floor and my gf was freaking out. I didn’t have anything to swat it with so I just used my hand and squashed it bare-handed 👋🏼😅
Texas has a lot of forest area so we have big wood roaches. They're about 3 in. long, sometimes bigger, and yes, they fly. I live in southeast Texas, they're called Texas wood roaches if you want look them up lol
Have those in Ohio too. Yes, Ohio. They typically would have lived in the forests, but commercial buildings are so much nicer....😁 Exterminator said, hah, they're 1 inch ... all 3 of us from a hospital under construction said..." dude, you new at this?" 😂 We'll being you one...sucker fills the bottom of a coffee mug! 😂 He actually couldn't fully lay in the bottom! Yeh, they don't run...they stroll with purpose. About once every week or so, we'd get a call from a freaked out nurse in the construction zone ... guys would open a wall & one would stroll out, walking down the hall...just doing his rounds...😂 They were tough too, you couldn't just step on them...your shoe would give before they did.
That there's a Texas WATERBUG, it flys...they come in when it's hot looking for water and food, they will come in in freezing cold as well, Texas has critters...
I just call my dogs in. They love to chase the water bugs! June bugs, Cicadas, Water bugs my dogs think that they are just snacks that they get to play with first.
Here is the thing. Those are (at least in texas) called water bugs. Basically, they come up through your pipes. Normally, the water traps in pipes will prevent this from happening. If, though, you are in a rental property during covid, a rental that has not been being rented because no one is leaving their house, the water that is supposed to be in the water trap will have evaporated away. So giant bugs and escaped sewage air is your present!
I've also heard them called palmetto bugs, bugs, they are still roaches no matter what you call them. I used to live in downtown Wilmington, NC and they were all over the place down there. I was sitting outside one night and one flew in my hair. I think I probably had the hottest, longest shower in history.
I live in New Orelans and I know what kind of roach he is talking about. Those things could survive a nuclear attack, and could carry Tomahawk missiles.
I grew up in Pgh. in the 60's. We hunted Water Bugs at night in the curbs along the street as kids! It was fun entertainment! They would literally pop when you smashed them! It was fun time had by all! There were 100's of them!
Cockroaches have wings, Britt. I didn't know this either until I moved to Japan. I'm from the west coast like Fluffy and had similar experiences as Fluffy. My first summer in Japan scared the hell out of me while I was waiting for a train on a plat form. I thought a horse fly flew by me, but when it stopped and landed not too far from me, I realized it was a roach. Japan, South East Asia, really, has the best conditions for this critters to thrive. It doesn't matter how much you clean or how new your home is, EXPECT to have roaches. X(
Water Bugs/Palmetto Roaches are rare in Virginia, but I had 1! It took a week to trap it. I did not want to kill it because I knew it was harmless, but it looked like the Arnold Schwarzenegger! 🪳
I had 3 waterbugs come flying at me in my home one time. I can't stand them. If we get mice I'll catch them & not be scared. I'm just terrified of waterbugs I think because they fly.
I'm not sure if it's the same thing but i've had a few pop up in my room. they tend to hang around my ceiling lights. the second i hear their wings i practically scream and cover my head. i'm paralyzed from the waist down so i can't stand up and kill them so i always call my dad into the room and point them out and be like "kill it!!" they scare the hell out of me
I remember the first time my wife and I went to visit Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia. Our accommodation was simple but adequate. It's very tropical and hot in Darwin, so my wife decided to have a cooling shower. She no sooner got into the shower when I, and half of Darwin, heard a blood curdling scream. I ran into the bathroom as she ran out, pointing to something on the wall in the shower. It was the biggest cockroach I have ever seen, and when the wife regained the power of speach, she informed me that it FLEW into the bathroom. Australia is a very different place.
Heard a joke once somebody from Alaska was listening to a texan brag about how everything was bigger eventually they just said if you don't shut up we're going to split and make you the third largest state
You see all these travel videos and brochures about Hawaii. Getting off the plane and hula girls putting leis around your neck, all the beautiful scenery, get to the hotel, there's a little band and ukulele music. What they don't tell you is the place is infested with big ass flying cockroaches. ALL of the islands! Bastids are everywhere.
We just call them water bugs but really just big a** roaches! Which my kids say I react by placing basically a few nuclear bombs at first sight. No way am I staying in same place as one.
The worst bug I ever dealt with was when I was camping at the Yuba River in Northern California, it was some sort of beetle, that dropped out of the trees and onto my ex-wife, she flicked it into the fire that we had going in the pit in front of us, and we thought, well, sorry bud, but, then a couple of seconds later, out of a fire that has been going for over 2 hours, he crawled out, and flew away, I don't to this day know what that bug was, but I am just glad her forgave us for throwing him in the fire and our parties parted amicably.
had a Big arse snake run up on my fam at a BnB rental,,, the girls , they went wild not in the fun way ... me... i asked for a floor mop and a cast iron skillet. .. .. Son..challenged a snake out the hole int he screen. .. really stupid thing to be proud of but i do think it gave me ground. I won. It lived to next door,
It is nature, we live with them, don't like it then go live in a bubble! Just my opinion, cause there are annoying little creatures everywhere, just deal with it.
In Florida they’re called Palmetto bugs. They are huge and fearless. The first time I ever saw one I didn’t know whether to shoot it or step on it!
That nasty sweet smell they release when you kill one 🤮🤮
"I don't think he's in my room. I think I'm in his."
I'm dying!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣
If I saw that thing in my room I wouldn't have burnt the room down...
I would have razed the entire STATE all the way to the bottom of the sea

Georgia have flying roaches which flap it wings and fly about a yard. Nothing worse then putting on you shoes and feeling a lump inside:(
Yeah, the "Big ass roaches" he's talking about here in Texas fly, too. They're water roaches, typically.
Also in Texas. That’s just “roaches”, “German Cockroaches” are the little ones for dirty peopl.
I can’t believe he’s thinking of retiring from standup. This was his last special (he sold Dodger Stadium out. He cried at the end)
Well, he's got to take care of himself. Diabetes ain't no joke.

Wood roaches? Interesting term. Where you from? (I like learning these things) I’m from way east Houston, Lake Houston, and I’ve not heard that term.
Have those in Ohio too. Yes, Ohio.

Lil’ flying tank to withstand a hit from a shoe.
Roaches here are not only airborne, they are armored.

It was Florida where I first saw a palomino bug,. 😂
That sounds like the kind of luck that my family would have on a trip

And there is almost no way to get rid of them once they make a home in a building.
Yea, you basically have to tent that shit and roast them out.
