Moved to Newcastle last year and just finished collecting all the gear for wild camping - looking at giving it a go in Northumberland this weekend & your videos have been a great help!😊
Great video! I don't think there is anything wrong with keeping a spot you really like secret. Don't need to turn it into a hotel. Needs to stay peaceful and relaxing for the people who gave you the tip.
Cracking mate , ya living the dream out there for sure , great drone footage too , a great watch and thanks for sharing , see you in ya next on mate , atb Deka 👍🏻😎
Great video, I think I've seen some other UA-cam videos from other wild campers at that spot. I got an idea of where it is but like you say that's for me to find out myself. Starting my wild camping adventure this year and I can't wait. I also live up here in Northumberland and its the best.
Great vid mate . I live in Northumberland and I'm really wanting to have a go at this . I'm used to camping however I've not done any wild camping ! . I'm piecing my kit together slowly!
Thanks for a great video, had a good look at my maps and it took me a day or two to figure out where you are, seen a few videos from there, will have to try it before it gets to popular lol.
Thanks for replying, my problem is that I'm disabled (recently had a pacemaker fitted) and I have some mobility problems, I was a member of St Edward's Fell Walking Club in Whitley bay, I've climbed many of the hills over the years. Thank you for the tip.
Hi from a fellow Geordie - enjoyed the vlog. I'm chomping at the bit waiting to get out. Unfortunately I don't drive so I'm reliant on lifts. I'm just down the road from you in Wallsend. Bought some new gear and a two man tent that I cannot wait to try out. That location looks perfect to be out there now (June 6th) D day-
Best piece of equipment I own in all fairness, it’s the -18 version packs really well. The old adage you get what you pay for! Cheers for watching ATB 🤙🏻
Highly recommended the UGQ quilts but wouldn't get any lower than the -6⁰ if you want to use outside of winter. Also recommended you get the wider version of it.
@@geordieneil On google maps follow the A68 up to Catcleugh Res. Look North from about half way along the res on the A68. You'll see a old track which would of been access to the quarry at some point. Follow that up and to the right.
@@thegeordiewildcamper new sub here bud 👌🏻 looking for new content and channels, getting excited to get out again for the first time in ages next weekend with the girlfriend. Heading to the lake District this time but I'm a Geordie lad too so love a wild camp out in Northumberland, last camp in October was up there in the Simonside hills.
Probably wrong choice of words in fairness. In reference to making a UA-cam video I didn’t want to plaster about the location given the area was given to me in good faith. Anyway all the best 🤙🏻
That looks fantastic. Looking to start doing a bit of wild camping and getting out in the amazing Northumberland countryside.
Yeah? enjoy it and soak it up!
