    You guys are hilarious. Keep up the great work you two. That is the thing with this trucking business, you have to stay upbeat about everything. Can not let things get to you, cause that is where you make mistakes. Bless you both and safe travels.

I envy you to be able to work and enjoy life together on the road. I Really wish I could join you in the hotshot world. God bless you and your family. Get home safe

    I grew up in NY and I associate Buffalo with Niagara Falls. Watching you guys and South Georgia makes my car hauling look better and better. No straps. No tarps, No floppy boxes. Sometimes I have to use a bunch of bungies to hold parts down, but that is minor.

    • @happypappy6371
      @happypappy6371 5 років тому

      You don't have to readjust the straps. As long as one end is attached, they won't fall off. You can drag them to the next stop.
      And each of my loads are usually different. You've seen some of what I haul. Then add to that, '72 Chevy Nova, '04 Porsche Ceyenne, '15 Cushman, '69 VW, '49 GMC 1/2 ton p/u and '94 Jaguar to name a few.

      You just have to drive fast so they can't catch you. Did you try what I suggested before with your own vehicle?

    • @happypappy6371
      @happypappy6371 5 років тому

      Let Carrie drive it on slow, so you can watch and then just watch your clearances, front, belly and tail as it approaches the ramp and breaks over the top. That will give you ideas on how low set of a vehicle will load easily.

      LOL, I watched a couple girls load a 3 car wedge one time and they sort of used that method. When they drove the 3rd car on, they ran into the 2nd car, pushing it forward.

    You are allowed up to four feet of overhang off the back without needing a permit as long as you are at or below 65 feet in overall length (60 feet overall length in IN).

      SouthGeorgiaHotShot there was a Facebook video floating around that an IN state trooper made talking about while he was in the middle of busting a hotshot for it. The only way to get around it it to have your truck registered as a tractor.

    I drive a Ford f350 with a 32ft pj trailer...and I'm out 3 weeks minimum per trip out before I go home...I also sleep in my truck EVERY NIGHT....I'm not complaining about it but hearing you say "OH I DIDN'T KNOW I HAD MY OWN BED" and other things like that...it makes me laugh ! I'm not trying to sound insulting at all but you have it very easy, motels every night and home just about every Friday... that's like part time hot shotting

    I feel your pain. I haven't even seen a Dyno since I had a Mustang several years ago that I took up to brenspeed in Indiana for them to do supercharger and Dyno tuned it for me. No matter how old we get we'll still want our toys AKA Hot Rod's. I follow South Georgia Hotshot also, love to footage of the twin turbo Mustang. I was feeling kind of bad for them for a while with their bad dispatcher. Almost wanted to offer my MC number down here in Charlotte for them to run under until they got their own. Seems like things looking up with their new dispatch. Take care of you guys.

      @@lifeontheroad_ I do all the carrier packets, rate cons, finding loads and still help him cause some of the tarping and loads are a little difficult to tarp. I ALWAYS have the paper work done before we even get to the shipper.

      I was thinking that too, but couldn't find it in FMCSA. I know for automotive transport, they are exempt for the flag requirements for that due to possible vehicle damage from the flag. FMCSA does say that 1 flag is required if the over hang is 2 ft or less in width and 2 flags if over 2 in width.

      Life On the Road Again - Hotshot Edition I don’t know why I was thinking you had a 36’ trailer but it is up to 4 off the back and 3 foot off the front. Expect your gooseneck is in the way for that one!

    • @happypappy6371
      @happypappy6371 5 років тому

      The 3 ft on the front is for car haulers.
