From Quincy Jones Back On The Block album! Barry White, El Debarge, James Ingram and Al B Sure. This was on heavy rotation on the late night slow jam stations. Kids were conceived to this song FO' SHO! Excellent choice!!!
Amber, generations of women have reacted just like that to Barry's voice. Priceless. Back on the Block is an *amazing* album full of LEGENDARY performers like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and Dizzy Gillespie, alongside modern singers, rappers, and instrumentalists. BTW, Quincy is not a new artist on your channel. He was the band leader in the We Are the World video, just like he is here
Featuring the legendary voices of Al.B.Sure, James Ingram, El DeBarge, and of course Barry White! Y’all might have to get a babysitter after this one! 😄😄🔥🔥🔥
This was "baby maker" song #1 (I was about to say back in the day, but...). Quincy Jones was a master of mood. You could spend the rest of the year just going through his catalog.
This song is a masterpiece. And I'll add another request for Al B. Sure. (My third, at least.) His "In Effect Mode" album was huge in '88. You want some falsetto.... Listen to "Naturally Mine"... "Off On Your Own"... "Ooh This Love Is So"... and "Nite and Day"... Man, from New Wave to R&B, the 80s had some gooood music. 🙂
Quincy Jones did most of Frank Sinatras arrangements...Frank met a young Quincy and saw Brilliance..Of course Quincy dust the arrangement for " We Are The World " in calibration with Michael Jackson. Anything Quincy touches is Gold...
Another thing Q did when recording Sinatra with an orchestra was to have him on stage singing with the orchestra next to him. I want you to 'feel' the power of the music. And when Q is conducting a large orchestra next to you. & You're not in a booth with headphones. You don't get to say, stop, let me redo that line every 15 minutes. You do it right! Sinatra said he liked Q because he really pushes you, he wouldn't allow you to get lazy. successful
Not because of him. Read liner notes on his albums and he did very little. Most of the songs were written and arranged by someone else. He didn’t play any instruments. He’s definitely no baby face. Teddy Riley. Jimmy jam and Terry Lewis. Now those are real producers. Quincy contributes almost nothing to the music he takes credit for
Couldn't hit the LIKE button quick enough! I know that you both had your eyes closed during a good portion of the song, but the video is showing you who is singing lead for easy identification. Great choice! Awesome baby making music!
Ahh. Finally more Debarge! Second best Debarge and Ingram combo since Switch! Bobby Debarge and Philip Ingram's group! El said "if there was something you wanted to say to your lady, put on a Switch song and let Bobby tell her for you!"
Finally! The young students of music learn about the brilliance of Quincy Jones ' producing and band- leading! 🥳🥳👍 (Think, "We Are The World") he's legendary in bringing diverse voices together and arranging them like an orchestra. 😍 This is one of the best examples of that and he has too many to mention. "Stuff Like That" is a major jam of his that will have you dancing in your seats. Love you two 💞
"he's legendary in bringing diverse voices together and arranging them like an orchestra" Absolutely spot on! Amazing producer and arranger! He knew how to bring the best out of every artist he worked with. He's respected across all genres of music!
@@PapaEli-pz8ff yes he did!👍 Globally he was recognized as a genius. I wish they could react to the documentary on Quincy's life! (Pretty sure it's available on UA-cam). He's a national treasure. 😍
Quincy Jones is the most prolific writer/arranger in history. He has worked with most top tier musicians from Ray Charles and continuously to Michael Jackson. He has written movie scores, as well as television scores like Sandford and Son. He produced The Fresh Prince Of BelAir. His credits are more than I can recount here, but he is already in the record books with anything music. This is history.
This is the kind of song that is played on the R&B radio program "Quiet Storm", which was named after a 1970s Smokey Robinson song. Here's a few other songs you might want to check out: Atlantic Starr ~ Let's Get Closer Marvin Gaye ~ After The Dance Minnie Riperton ~ Inside My Love Jermaine Jackson ~ Castles Of Sand O'Bryan ~ You And I Mother's Finest ~ Love Changes Chanté Moore & Keith Washington ~ I Love You Sade ~ Love Is Stronger Than Pride Teena Marie ~ Portuguese Love Black Ivory ~ Don't Turn Around Labelle ~ Isn't It A Shame Tower Of Power ~ You're Still A Young Man Lenny Williams ~ Cause I Love You The Dramatics ~ I Can't Get Over You Gap Band ~ Yearning For Your Love Average White Band ~ A Love Of Your Own Cameo ~ Sparkle Kool & The Gang ~ Too Hot Prince ~ Adore
Jay & Amber, Quincy Jones- legendary record producer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, conductor, and film and television producer. His instrument is the trumpet.
His instrument USED TO BE his trumpet. It's his piano. He had to stop the trumpet when he had two aneurysms, one burst he survived and they detected a second one and removed it. But he had to promise to never play the trumpet again.
And yes Amber, that's exactly what we did lol this was on everyone's mix tape/cd! Hell, I'd have it on in the background while talking to a woman on the phone 😉😂
OMG! That was so good! Kids, now you have to listen to "Black Men United" singing "You Will Know" ... all the best male soul singers and an inspirational song.
One of my absolute favorite slow jams! You have 4 amazing singers and Quincy on production, what more can you ask for. The earth’s population definitely increased after this song was dropped.
He conducted the Count Basie Orchestra with Frank Sinatra for the "Sinatra at the Sands" album. Though Jones was credited as the arranger, most of the arrangements on that album were Nelson Riddle arrangements that Jones adapted to Basie's band (without a string section). Nonetheless, that album was a masterpiece. My favorite tune from that album was "Don't Worry 'bout Me"--hopefully they will react to that tune someday.
Yeah, he’s not really new to them, if you think about all he’s done, particularly with Michael Jackson. I recommend You Put a Move on My Heart featuring Tamia.
I am shocked you haven't heard this before. I think it came out in the 90s. Check out the live version on here. Great album too and you can still get it. It is baby making music ha ha
You're not the first. Regrettably, this song never made it out of the R&B box. Even now, with music streaming and satellite providers, you will only find the song in rotation on R&B channels.
Ayeeee I never clicked so fast!!!! This is the song right here!!! Go ahead and let the song take you to heights unknown! Please check out Stuff Like Please check out the entire CD Body Heat by Quincy Jones it's has old 70s smooth grooves that I know y'all will love! 🎼🎶🎵🎶 And please check out Night And Day by Al B Sure.
So glad you reacted to this! Loved your reaction! Next you have to react to 'U Will Know' from Black Men United. A group of popular singers from that time like Tevin Campbell, Gerald Levert, Tony, Toni Tone, Keith Sweat, Boyz II Men etc.
Al B Sure, is a great artist, check out 'Night and Day' by him. The album that this is off is called 'Back On The Block' and was a come back concept album by Quincy Jones, the main deep is voice is of course Barry White. For a track by Quincy Jones check out 'Stuff Like That' if you do check this out please do the single version as the vocal is far better.
I mentioned in another post that Quincy Jones writes, produces, arranges, and conducts. I should have also mentioned that he works with top talent. Every musician in the world wants to work with Quincy Jones.
Quincy Jones wrote a lot of songs for various singers, James Ingram's "Just Once" & "One hundred ways". He help produce 3 Michael Jackson's albums, "Off the wall", "Thriller" & "Bad". You should hear "Ai No Corrida". The style in Micheal Jackson's songs.
This is a beautiful compilation of some the greatest sexiest voices in one song thanks to Quincy Jones, the master. For more hot and steamy you need to listen to BOYZ II MEN.... I'll Make Love To You On Bended Knee One Sweet Day with Mariah Carey You will fall in love. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
You need to check out Quincy album "The Dude". It ws my introduction to James Ingram and Patti Austin. Patti's "Razzamatazz", "Betcha' Wouldn't Hurt Me" and "Something Special" are great. James's "Just Once" is a classic. Quincy Joones is the GOAT. After all he produced Michael Jackson "Off the Wall", "Thriller" and "Bad" albums.
Al B. Sure!: Listen to "Nite and Day" El Debarge: Listen to "Rhythm of The Night" James Ingram: Listen to "One Hundred Ways" Barry White: Listen to "Your're The First, The Last, My Everything" or "Goodnight My Love"
Jay and Amber: Next Quincy Jones song: “Betcha Wouldn’t Hurt Me” featuring Patti Austin; it is smooth fire 🔥. SO wonderful. He has an amazing producer, arranger, musician. Did you know he produced Michael Jackson’s “Off the Wall”, “Thriller” and “Bad” Albums? Also, he was an arranger for Frank Sinatra? And that’s just part of his accomplishments!!! 🏆
From Back on the Block! There are some really good songs on this album, including Back on the Block!! I've been singing that song since it came out. Also I'll Be Good To You, which was written and sung first by the fabulous Brothers Johnson, who I've been waiting for you to react to. Their Get The Funk Out Ma Face is such a good funky song!!! Also Strawberry Letter 23, Stomp, and of course, I'll Be Good To You.
Hey ..Absolutely fantastic channel and I love watching you experience all these songs. You're both so genuine and your perspectives on the music always add a new dimension. It's really so much fun to watch people hear music you know so well for the first time. Can I make a request here? I think it would be great to see you guys hear Tom Waits for the first time. He has a very deep, diverse catalogue over several decades but one request I would make is "Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis"....I know it sounds crazy but its a beautiful song and I think you guys would love it.
Al B. Sure was Hot in the late 80s on the romantic side of the New Jack Swing Era. He won a music contest, the Sony Innovators Talent Search where Quincy Jones picked him as the winner. His debut album in Effect mode sold 3 million copies and gave him a #1 single on the R&B charts with Nite & Day.
This was an absolute cut when this came out!! But also you should check out "HEAVEN'S GIRL," from the album "Q's JOOK JOINT," which Quincy Jones used the vocal talents of Ronald Isley, from the Isley Brothers, Aaron Hall from Guy, R. Kelly from Public Announcement, and Charlie Wilson from The Gap Band, in which Quincy Jones made the music and arranged the vocal talents from each artist!! I enjoyed it so much because I am from Chicago and we consider this as a "NUMBER ONE STEPPERS CUT!! CHECK IT OUT PLEASE!
Quincy is music royalty of American Music... producer, arranger, band leader, composer, etc... from Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson and so many inbetween.
Ha ha love your reaction to Barry White! I'll show my age here I actually bought the album when it first came out on LP - just for this track. However the album is really good all different singers, you will know most of them. Great singers on this track I do think James Ingram was very underrated his voice was superb, sadly he has died a while back
You HAVE to check out Al B Sure’s ‘Night & Day’ - it’s amazing! But this is a fantastic tune as well, very sensual. And who could mistake that deep voice of Barry White 😁
Here's your next Female Friday playlist!!! You should check out Jones' albums "Walking in Space"--especially "Killer Joe"; and his album "Smackwater Jack"--a favorite from that album is the Marvin Gaye tune, "What's Goin' On."
WHITE LION check out this band. They’re an 80s hair band and underrated. Their 2 most popular songs are ‘Wait’, which is heavier, and ‘When the Children Cry’ which is softer. Would love if y’all reacted to these!!
LOVE your reaction! This is "baby-making" music, or "practising making babies" music - ha ha ha! This song was FIRE at da clubs in the 90s...glad it made ya'll smile.
Just subscribed and love your content! If you haven't heard these hopefully you can check them out!! "As long as I've got you" by the charmels.. you might recognize this song being sampled by a famous Rap group. Another one "La Vida Es Fria" by Jason Joshua and lastly "Pass the Dutchie" by Musical Youth. Thank you!!
Oh My! God! I’m so glad I’ve never heard this before 😆 I’d have 20 kids - Lol - gorgeous and romantic-- I love 💕 it- why does it remind me of TGIF on ABC in the early 90’s? Must of come out then 🤗
you guys haven't done Al B. Sure yet?! You need to hear Nite and Day, his rendition of Killing Me Softly, Off on Your Own... and he has a rendition of Michael Jackson's Lady In My Life that is amazing.
🤣💓 You two crack me up! Perfect reaction. Thanks for making me smile/laugh yet again. I may be mistaken, but I think the person singing is the person on the album cover they are showing.
The song literally hypnotizes you ! You catch yourself drifting, into another dimension! A sweet dimension that flows across you with all types of sensual and physical Love throughout your body . A Really cool effect! ... 🤗
Hi guys! My wife and I have really enjoyed watching your reactions to some great music! My wife would like to recommend your reaction to a couple of great songs. “Barcelona “ sung by Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe. Also, the 1985 Performance at the Live Aid concert by Queen, and last, “All For Love” by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!
This was a new one for me too guys, so thank you! I like how the video you played shows each singer as they do their solo. James Ingram could sing me the phone book.🔥 One of my favorite 80’s songs was Al B. Sure’s “I can tell you how I feel about you night and day.” It’s a vibe. Thanks for sharing
So it might be time to add the guys in this song to your list!... Al B. Sure: "Night and Day" James Ingram: "Just Once" or "Baby Come To Me" (with Patti Austin) El Debarge: "All This Love" (with his siblings in the group "Debarge") Barry: "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe" or "You're The First, the Last, My Everything"
You really need to do some Geoff Castellucci, anything he has done is great and all of them will cause the same reaction to Amber as Barry White's voice. I think a good one to start with is "House of the Rising Sun". You've already reacted to The Animals cover of it, I feel Geoff's is closer to the original.
Barry with his bedroom voice, just nailed everything about this song,,, I never get tired of playing this song,,, kudos to Quincy Jones & rip to Barry white & James Ingram. Love & miss you all.
For a moment there I thought we were going to have to hold you guys down isn't it just perfect when a song can make your entire being filled so yes I'm a midwife and believe me I delivered plenty of babies made to this music!
As an avid 80's & 90's R&B fan - this was the holy grail for me. When this came out I bought a compilation CD with several mixes of it total time like 30 minutes. Lets just say it got played A LOT 😁
you guys played the short version of the song , listen to the extended version, it's incredible
I was gunna say...this is missing some KEY vocals...but def THE MOST SENSUAL song ever!
Came here to say same….PLEASE go back and listen to the full version…even if you don’t do a reaction to it….much better!
Always thought it was a crime the way they chopped this song up
I only listen to the extended version, interesting to see the original version.
The extended version is a bedroom banger.
From Quincy Jones Back On The Block album!
Barry White, El Debarge, James Ingram and Al B Sure. This was on heavy rotation on the late night slow jam stations. Kids were conceived to this song FO' SHO!
Excellent choice!!!
Exactly! No "Quiet Storm" late night radio show was complete without this outstanding song!!!!
Facts!
The Voice love Barry White is making Amber melt
Should have done Sax in the Garden so that Amber could here the sax in that.
Love this!
He was the band leader in the We Are the World video, just like he is here
You got that right ! because I’m one of those women that melt’s when he sings
Back on the Block is also a movie -- where Quincy traces the roots of hip hop far back into Black American musical history. It's a must-see.
George Duke said record companies give Jones big budgets and that's how he can have so many legendary performers on one record.
Featuring the legendary voices of Al.B.Sure, James Ingram, El DeBarge, and of course Barry White! Y’all might have to get a babysitter after this one! 😄😄🔥🔥🔥
😂😂😂
I was about to say something just like that 😂😂
Quiet storm music! Your either conceiving kids or putting them to bed.
UHHKAAY !!!
This was "baby maker" song #1 (I was about to say back in the day, but...). Quincy Jones was a master of mood. You could spend the rest of the year just going through his catalog.
Perfect song. I recommend James Ingram/Patty Austin duet Baby come to me. You will not be disappointed
OH YES!!!! Absolutely! Jay & Amber definitely have to do that song!
Or “how do you keep the music playing”
❤️ that song!! I agree there'll be NO disappointment when they react to that!! 👍😃❣️😃👍
YES!
Actually Jay & Amber need to dig into both Patti Austin and James Ingram all together. Both just wonderful artists with wonderful music.
You guys are hilarious. Tomorrow by Tevin Cambell (who was 14 at the time) is also a great track from the same album. Love your enthusiasm.
This song is a masterpiece. And I'll add another request for Al B. Sure. (My third, at least.) His "In Effect Mode" album was huge in '88. You want some falsetto.... Listen to "Naturally Mine"...
This Song is Fire 🔥
There is a very real possibility that one or both of you owe your existence to that song!!
al b. sure is known for his 80's hit "night and day" check him out
Quincy is music royalty of American Music... producer, arranger, band leader, composer, etc... from Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson and so many inbetween.

Performing his Award winning "Theme from Shaft" at the ceremony YOU HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS.
You should check out Jones' albums "Walking in Space"--especially "Killer Joe"; and his album "Smackwater Jack"--a favorite from that album is the Marvin Gaye tune, "What's Goin' On."
The Manhattans, Cadillacs, Drifters, Temptations & Four Tops - Battle of the Groups (@Apollo 1985) WOW
AL B.Sure's Biggest Hit Was called "Night & Day" it's a Definitely a Must Reactions. He's also P.Diddy's oldest StepSon Quincy real Father.
Your reaction is priceless luv it
WHITE LION
check out this band.
Thank you!!
This version cuts out at least half of the original album cut; it’s really disappointing. Jeez, half the original song is missing here. Really sad.
Oh My!
The singer gives me huge Michael Jackson-vibes....imagine this song sung by MJ...it would fit like a glove!
Okay, I see y'all on here gettin' spicy haha. Beautiful song! Quincy Jones is brilliant. Check out his instrumental composition Soul Bossa Nova!
More James Ingram please! Many songs to choose from but his duet with Michael McDonald, "Ya Mo Be there!" would be a good one. :oD
If ya'll want more kids just say so....ya'll keep on with messing with these sexy songs LOL!!
Wow..first time hearing this.. Love it!
Gorgeous song, you should have dimmed the lights 😂 To follow in a similar vein you should react to Janet Jackson - Funny How Time Flies ❤️
Al B Sure was married to Kim Porter (diddyS KIDS MOM) HE CAN SAAAANNNGGGGGG
So it might be time to add the guys in this song to your list!...
Al B. Sure: "Night and Day"
James Ingram: "Just Once" or "Baby Come To Me" (with Patti Austin)
El Debarge: "All This Love" (with his siblings in the group "Debarge")
Barry: "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe" or "You're The First, the Last, My Everything"
You really need to do some Geoff Castellucci, anything he has done is great and all of them will cause the same reaction to Amber as Barry White's voice. I think a good one to start with is "House of the Rising Sun". You've already reacted to The Animals cover of it, I feel Geoff's is closer to the original.
By far THE MOST ROMANTIC AND SEDUCTIVE SONG EVER!
If Barry White does the intro you know it's gonna be 🔥
Your first reaction was unforgettable lol!! Beautiful though. Yo, this was what we were slow dancing to.
a who's who of timeless r&b male voices under the magic fingers of quincy jones
Sho your right, great collaboration
There's a better longer version that you'll enjoy even more.
Barry with his bedroom voice, just nailed everything about this song,,, I never get tired of playing this song,,, kudos to Quincy Jones & rip to Barry white & James Ingram. Love & miss you all.
Great choice! Y’all, please listen to SILK “Lose Control”. 🔥
