Rabbi, do you mean to say that a woman, a wife, in the home, is to not hold a gun? Are they to hold a tent stake like the hero of old who drilled into the one to whom she gave drink? Please tell.
Of course a woman can own and use a weapon at home to defend her life and her family, as well as carry one outside the home if it is concealed. The Torah isn't telling Jewish women to stay defenseless especially due to the disparity of force between (often) male attackers and female victims. The Rabbi was referring to women willingly joining the army or other armed forces.
