    Well that was the single most irritating box opening ever, and I hate those in general ...

    I've ordered one of these lenses partly cause I want a macro lens and also cause I want to check out the amazing chromatic aberrasjon performance its supposed to have. That is to say, its supposed to not have any chromatic aberration at all. Which is an amazing characteristic for any lens to have.
    Great video btw :D

    Great video Calvin, thanks for sharing your experiences with the lens. I liked the real world shots you included, that gives me a way better idea of how it will perform out and about instead of just how it performs in a controlled environment. Also curious to hear how this lens worked for you with the product photography later on.

      Hi Martyn, I hope this message finds you well. Sorry for replying 2 months later lol.
      Yes, that is what I was aiming for. Other videos usually gives examples on controlled environments. I was only able to shoot a few jewelry and it was terrific! A little learning curve but once you get everything set up w/ good lighting. It's awesome!

    I can’t wait to get this lens mainly for scanning film negatives. How is the edge sharpness??

    • @CalvinUyShow
      @CalvinUyShow  4 роки тому +1

      have you gotten the lens? I'm sorry for replying just now. Haven't been on UA-cam. It gets sharp past F/4. It's kinda hard to focus on F2.8 especially if handheld.

    You can't freeze motion with a constant light like you were using, you need a flash to freeze the motion.
    A flash also requires a really good diffuser to soften and spread the light.

    Nothing to do with photography! Do you get lower back problems? I could hear your steps when walking, sounds like both feet are hitting the floor flat! As opposed to your heel striking first then rolling on to your toes. Foot flop can happen with sciatic nerve problems. Take care out there. And yes I am buying the Lens. Cheers.

      Hello Iain, hmm, I do get some back problems from time to time, but nothing major. I attribute that with going to the gym or working too much on the computer. Very interesting, I will try to assess how I walk. Thanks for looking out! How'd you like the lens?

    • @erdnussfresser

      17cm

      thank you for responding on my behalf! That sounds about right. :)

      I know this is super late, but 17cm is the minimum focus distance. That is the distance from the sensor to the subject. The length of the lens is 10cm, so you are looking at under 7cm from the front of the lens. This is my hesitation with buying this lens, since it makes it hard to light your subject.

      Hey, I tried to use natural light as much as possible, but in that one part of the video, I have this LED video light from Viltrox (model L116T) iirc. I got it from Amazon for about $30+ a while ago.

    It would have been nice if you shot more normal street, or portrait photos with this lens instead of taking shots of the lens. More about the lens pls
