Every Time "Dalek" Is Said in Doctor Who

- A supercut of every time "Dalek" (the Ninth Doctor story title) is said in the "Whoniverse" (I've included the official BBC spin-offs). I've probably missed some, but I've done my best. This doesn't include Daleks or The Daleks (which will get its own video eventually). This wouldn't have been possible without the great work at www.chakoteya.net/ so you should support them!
Also, if you enjoy this or any of my videos, I've set-up a Ko-Fi page which I hope to use to fund buying audio equipment for recording my theory videos: ko-fi.com/V7V4...
At 2:00 the word Dalek started to sound weird to me. At 3:30 all other words started to sound weird, and i came to understand the New Dalek Paradigm
Whenever someone mispronounces Dalek as “Daylek” show them this
Absolutely! I had chat gpt say daylick and I almost screamed
Or (this is annoying when you're scottish) Dar-lek
dalek just sounds weird now
Yh 😂
"Now".
Like "Cyberman", it sounds ridiculous the first time you hear it, then you become accustomed to it, and then it might loop back around through repeated exposure.
Ur pfp fits this comment well
Who's licking the da's tbf
You said it! Weird af!!!
“A dalek dalek to dalek”
Started sounding like they were saying Garlic
No wonder they're so angry, all they want is some delicious garlic bread.
When I was little I kept calling garlic bread ‘dalek bread’ because I misheard it the first time
6:08 the dalek is a dalek
Same vibe as "king shark is a shark"
2:47 the Dalek was a Dalek
You don’t say
I loved the part where they said “Dalek”
i preferred it when they said 'dalek'
timestamp?
begining of the video: Dalek
End of the video: Doorlick
garlic
Great job! You must have the patience and dedication of a Time Lord to make this!
Cant wait for part 2
"Every Time "Daleks" Is Said in Doctor Who"
Ah! LOL, that answers a question I iust asked and, more interestingly, that would be like - what - a 3 hour video? 😂
That came first. This is the second of the two.
@@DrWhoFanJ where's the first video because I didn't see it on the channel
I think you missed the 6th doctor mentioning the daleks in his speech where he denounces the time lords
That's a plural. The video includes only singular uses of the word (including as an adjective).
@@anthonybernacchi2732 that's VERY specific lmao
@@anthonybernacchi2732yeah, i noticed it was missing the ambush scene in The Daleks but its all plural there
False advertising. The title card says "Every time Dalek is said by Robert Shearman" but he never even appears in the show.
Aww they missed my favourite one. In Name of the Doctor the doctor says “those little…. Daleks!”
they nailed the Dalek voice in New Who
Is this a bad time to bring up the “Dalek asylum” mentions in Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS and The Name of the Doctor? Hahaha
"the garlic"
The amount of times a Dalek says "Dalek" 😂
Garley: maybe 724
Unless there's the Daleks and the Daleks
It starts to lose its meaning after a few seconds, but then it comes right back again...I wonder how that works
This must have required a lot of dedication. But I believe there's a story title to come that turns up even more: "Listen". Good luck.
“Dalek-“
“Yes! The Dalek!”
Watching this entire video through is an interesting experience, I started to perceive the tiny differences between how different actors say it and started hearing it as weird corruptions like "dorrig"
Watching bro slowly deteriorate
Looking forward to part 2 (daleks)
6:52 asking the real questions
Did you miss the one where pertwee has the invisible spray and when he uncovers a dalek he says "A dalek!"
Doesn't Donna say Daleks in the Giggle? 👀
You forgot some dalek words like the sixth doctor's trial, but good job!
He says "Power mad conspirators? DalekS, Sontarans... Cybermen!"
I liked the part where they said Dalek
I wasn’t sure if it was literally every dalek or just nuwho dalek. This truly is every single dalek 😂
Are we counting the world ‘Daleks’ or just ‘Dalek’ as we’re missing some. Yes I’m an nerd
Like the Daleks, you play too well
Just the singular
I will be using this to cure my insomnia :)
favourite has to be 'ta-dalek' from Seven
0:01 So did Robert Shearman voice all these characters? Or is the video simply edited by Robert Shearman?
Robert is the editor. Nick Briggs is the voice actor (at least from 9th Doctor onwards
He IS the video
Robert Shearman wrote the Ninth Doctor episode Dalek. The beginning was using the title card of that episode because this video ties into the video they posted after this one.
Yo dawg, I heard ya like Daleks....
🙂
The fact that more than half the video is for new series episodes says something about how often they go to the Dalek well this century...
Now do one of the cybermen
I wanna watch/read/listen to every doctor who canon available, it looks like you have, do you have a list of every available episode how you accessed them? And their order
viewer retention has to fall off a cliff pretty fast for this one. I wonder what could be done to make the clips less grating. This must have taken quite a long time to make.
I’d love to see the graph
I watched to the end 😅
Da lick
"Dalek is a Dalek"
Dalek is said at the end of the Wheel in Space
In the end it transformed into a language
Nobody called Robert Shearman appeared in this video…
At 50 seconds they just started saying ‘garlic’
In the opening narration by the Eighth Doctor in the Doctor Who movie, he says Dalek a few times.
“It was on the planet Skaro that my old enemy the Master was finally put on trial. They say he listened calmly as his list of evil was read and sentence passed. Then he made his last, and I thought somewhat curious, request. He demanded that I, the Doctor, a rival Time Lord, should take his remains back to our home planet, Gallifrey. … It was a request they should never have granted. … The Time Lord has thirteen lives and the Master had used all of his, but rules never meant much to him. So I stowed his remains safely away for the voyage back, because even in death I couldn't trust him. … In all my travels through space and time, and nearing the end of my seventh life, I was finally beginning to realise that you could never be too careful.”
No mention of Daleks
He doesn't, but he does namedrop them later to Grace. "I was bringing home [the Master's] remains from Skaro, where his final incarnation had been exterminated by the Daleks..."
@@Nosregni Gah! You're right. I didn't even think to double check because I remembered that it was quite clear that the Master was executed by the Daleks, but they managed to do it without actually using the word “Dalek”. Mea maxima culpa. @NotoriousCG: my apologies for getting this wrong.
@@dlfjessup We hear them very faintly in the background and a repeated "Exterminate!" builds in volume at the end, but they sound like Smurfs.
@@djco5782 And that mention is a plural, so it was ineligible for this video. I was glad to see McGann appear nonetheless (in a clip from "The Night of the Doctor").
dalek
dalek
You missed one. I'm not gonna say which one tho so u have to go through the entire show again
Don't mean to undermine the massive amount of effort that was put into this video... But The Doctor mentioned the Daleks in The War Machines🙃
"The Daleks" has its own video.
Missing some from the first episode of The War Machines.
Nope. That’s "The Daleks", which has its own video.
Thank you. That's what I wanted to know. 🤓
Doesn’t even sound like a word anymore…
5:46 *EIGHTH DOCTOR LET'S GOOOOOOOO*
Does "Daleks" as said in "Planet of Fire" count?
Doesn’t sound like a word anymore
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂haha
Bill: What is a Dalek?
12: Dalek
Darlick
Can you do the same video but its the word cyberman?
You're missing the 96 TV movie
Nope. There simply weren’t any.
@@DrWhoFanJ Watch the movie again, they were mentioned by the Doctor in the scene where he gets his memory back
@@50shadesofgeek41 None of those use the word "Dalek". They all use "the Daleks", which is a separate video.
(And it’s 1996, not 96. There are no Ancient Roman movies!)
Unrelated, but what’s the font you used at the beginning?
"hmm dalek kebab"
Series 3 episode 3 the Doctor tells Martha about the Time War and mentions the Daleks
The video doesn’t include plurals so that’s probably why some bits aren’t in it
You ever hear a word so often it stops sounding like a word?
Wait, did you miss "The little... Daleks" from S7?
Doesn't include "Daleks"
Yeah only singulars
Did i watch that whole video?....
Can we get a "Every Time DalekS is said in Doctor Who?"
Yes, we’ve had one on this channel for months.
You missed quite a few
Outer space octopus.
Now, a video why they mention the word "Daleks".
There’s already been one on this channel for months.
This video feels too specific
Why didnt you include the plural?
Imagine how hard it would be to not only get every “Dalek” but also every “Daleks”.
@@JustAVibinKoala ... Then why make the video?
@@novawolf_gaming don’t worry about it too much, it’s a silly video about a silly word. Don’t stress about how they didn’t use the plural.
@@JustAVibinKoala ... Who's stressing?
@@JustAVibinKoalaIt would be no harder than how the video is already, this must already have required like a full series rewatch
The War Games, the Doctor mentions the Daleks in his trial... and I suspect he says the name as well at the end of The Wheel in Space when he is showing Zoe what life in the TARDIS may look like... Probably a few more incidental ones like that... But hey - amazing job all the same! (Ah - start of Planet of Fire, the Doctor laments the Daleks... Battlefield, the Doctor mentions Daleks to Brigadier Bambera.)
And indeed! Chakoteya is amazing! I used it myself for my supercut of "Bigger on the Inside" - ua-cam.com/video/49-Lq8-OvQk/v-deo.html
he isn't counting plural
"The Daleks" has its own separate video.
0/10 didn't include big finish
