    It must be the obsessive compulsive in me... I love that you properly scrape down the sides when you poured the melted cocoa butter. I hate watching videos where it's simply dumped into the next dish. I want to yell, "you're wasting product!" LOL I hurts my core, 😂

      Oh goodness, yes! I can't stand it when you see a jar that obviously still has tons of product in it! That, and how do they even know how much ingredient they're actually using!? Those spatulas are the bomb for getting containers as empty as humanly possible.

    Thank you. I have once again learned something from you, Humble Bee. I now understand the intermittent pause between the whipping and stirring. You are great love viewing your channel...I bought your book some time ago. 💖👍🏽👍🏽And, congrats on the seminar you were just featured in. I wish I could have attended.

    I made this with a few extra ingredients. I added 200X aloe powder, cera bellina, pine resin and propolis. Came out really great! I use it every day on my feet after a shower. I needed something to fight athletes foot, hopefully it will work :)

      I'm glad you're enjoying it! I definitely wouldn't consider it a treatment for athletes foot, though :/ Please go see a doctor for that!

    I thought using east African shea butter would work with this recipe. But I found out the hard way that it was the wrong type to use. East African Shea Butter has a higher olien oil content . West African shea butter is often much firmer and waxier than the softer, creamier East African shea butter. While using an electric beater it just got lighter and way too soft...didn't whip at all. Almost like a watery batter.
    Just a tip DO NOT use east African shea butter for this recipe...it won't whip up and get fluffy like the video above!

    I bet a hybrid between this and your new camomile hand butter could kick butt. Lanolin, capuacu, menthol (or thymol) foot butter.

    One more question - do you have any Canadian amazon affiliate links? I get most of my diy from amazon and you might as well benefit. Or any affiliate links in general, I suppose. I don't HAVE to buy from amazon if it's comparatively priced elsewhere and you have aff links.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 років тому +1

      I definitely do! amzn.to/2E2b4J0 :)
      The DIY selection on Canadian Amazon isn't nearly as good, though-check out Windy Point, Voyageur, and New Directions Aromatics for better options :) None of those places have affiliate programs but they are pretty awesome shops!

    Is it okay if the bottom of the pyrex touches the bottom of the pot? I can't tell from your videos. I usually let it sit on the bottom, is that getting too hot?

    I made today, everything perfect but i feel greasy, what can i do for made less oily. Thanks.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  8 років тому +2

      The first thing I'd recommend doing is using less-this stuff is potent, a little goes a long way! And it will absorb into your skin quickly if you don't over apply. I know I've given my mom some of this and watched her apply gobs of it and then complain that it's greasy, but she was probably applying 10x more than she needed, so of course it was! So, give that a go first :)

      Isabel Canizales try using mango butter instead of Shea butter. Also maybe use macadamia nut oil instead of cocoa butter. Then throw in some kaolin clay!

    Great recipe and technique. Next time to keep the airy consistency, I would put it in a piping bag and then put in the contaciner. PS you left some on the beeter, scrape all off. LOL Namaste

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 років тому +2

      The loss of the airy consistency is 100% about the recipe, and nothing to do with how it was packaged-anything with this much cocoa butter in it will not stay airy as cocoa butter is brittle at room temperature. And I know about the leftovers-I always use 'em before washing up :)

  • @kenyaegusta2415
    @kenyaegusta2415 6 років тому

    Hi! I love this recipe! I just made it but I think I did something wrong. Mine is more "whipped" than "buttery". I'm thinking it may have been a combination of not letting the cocoa butter cool down enough. My shea was at room temperature so I don't think that's it. I used refined cocoa butter and refined shea butter. Do you think these are the issues? And can I get your consistency with this same batch by putting it in the fridge?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 років тому

      I'm not sure I'm understanding what is wrong-it is whipped, so it's supposed to be whipped? It does have a fairly light consistency/fast melting speed because it's whipped-that's the nature of whipped butters.

      @@HumblebeeAndMe lol I guess what I'm trying to say is that yours looks thicker

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 років тому +1

      Ah haha. I honestly doubt you did anything wrong, you might’ve whipped yours more than I did but that’s probably it. If you gently heat the butter it’ll settle down a bit, but I’d try to avoid exceeding 40°C to preserve the essential oils.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
