Baylor have such a great team. They run their program the right way. I’d love to have a team like this at Kentucky. Congrats to them and Coach Drew.

One and done at Lexington will never get it done.
Coach Cal can do this but it takes a few years, which the one and done crowd aren't interested in. That team he had with Monk and Fox should've stayed til their junior season. They would've won a chip at least once if they had. Such is CBB these days.
Congrats Baylor. Baylor has been a high powered team for some time now. I'd say they started becoming a force in the 2010's. I'd be stumped whenever I see them get knocked out early in the tourney, because they always seem to have these monstrous looking players lol. They finally cracked the code. This game really just came down to Baylor being the better team. Houston's biggest advantage coming in was their offensive rebounding, one of the best in the nation and was doing it all tournament. This game, only had 1 more offensive rebound than baylor and was actually outrebounded by them overall. Baylor on the other hand was one of the best teams at forcing turnovers, but Houston only turned it over 11 times, which is actually the lowest any team has turned it over against Baylor so far this tournament. But from Butler, Mitchell, Teague, Tchachuwa, Flagler, Mayers, literally no one on Houston had an answer for them. Truly a great team top to bottom.
I truly agree, Sasser and Grimes the only players doing something for Houston. Jarreau was nowhere to be found.

Baylor had a harder road to the championship than the Zags
I'd say it was equally tough for both teams. Zags had to play a red hot USC, who was actually thought to give Gonzaga a run for their money, and also the cinderella that was UCLA. Baylor had Villanova, Arkansas, and then Houston, who were all great tough teams too.

I've been saying it for weeks... this year reminds me so much of 2005 when UNC and Illinois were the 2 best teams all season long and met in the final. A Gonzaga win vs UCLA and we'll have the 2 best this year the final.

You actually bring up a good point I never thought of. It would be a good thing other than seeing KU win a title. Makes the conference look stronger. If there's a team in the Big XII I want to see win it all, it would be my second favorite college team KSU. And as a Buckeye fan, I love seeing them do well in their conference, but then fans say that's the only competitive team in the B1G. So I get what you're saying.

@@carsonc29 honestly, when I think of the Big XII when it comes to basketball, the first team that comes to mind is Kansas as well, but no offense to the other teams in that conference. So if someone mentioned Big XII basketball, I'll be like yea, Kansas lol. They've always been a historic powerhouse team. I think Baylor will be solid for at least another 5 years, maybe more. If they keep recruiting good, they'll become a powerhouse as well. Now when it comes to football, we think of OU and Texas. ISU is up and coming and OSU isn't too shabby.

I like Baylor' team play. They have a strong team and can get more rebounds than Gonzaga. Having said that if Baylor converts scoring opportunities as good as UCLA, Gonzaga will have a hard time in the Final.
Coogs came out aggressively to start but their scrappy ways turned into them just running around like madmen. They never recovered and Baylor was just smooth throughout the entire game.

Both The Zags and The Bears got a plethora of great shooters and quick guards. Zags will be favored, but it should be a good one.

Some rules are different. On college hoops the clock doesn't stop when the basket happens in the final minute.

@@dc7236 true, anything can happen. it'll be a fun game either way as long as Gonzaga gets past UCLA, which would be kinda crazy if they don't. Both great teams that deserve to be there, I do give the Zags the edge personally and a lot of that has to do with coaching, Mark Few adjusts really well and makes sure his team doesn't let up even when they have a large lead which is very important. It'll be either teams first title so I'll be happy for either even though I want to see the zags win it this year.
I'd have to put my money on Baylor Monday after seeing them do Houston like this.

I think Houston is a better team than what they showed but their road to the Final Four, only having to beat four unranked double-digit seeds to get there (not their fault, they have no control over who wins other games), did not prepare them well for a national title-caliber team like Baylor. They hadn't played a ranked team at all since November.

Looking ahead to UCLA vs Gonzaga: UCLA needs to be firing on all cylinders if they want a chance to win. You can’t have a game against Michigan where one player carries you for 90% of the game and expect to win against the Zags. Gonna be a great game regardless.

This notion of looking at an opponent's seed to determine a team's worth has become absurd. All of the top seeds were beaten by those same "double digit" teams. A lot of the seeding is arbitrary, especially
when considering seeds are based off of subjective rankings of hundreds of schools from varying conferences. It's as simple as Baylor was the better team for this game. You don't make it to the final four based off of luck. If so, I want some of that luck.
