nice..!! clean n simple..!! I believe I'm confused with your answer for (a) it should have been 2/4=1/2=0.5. if both the balls you pick up is yellow.. the possibility of picking up a maximum of 1 green ball isn't possible.. coz there were no green ball.. the both you picked up were yellow..!!

Based on the data from some health unit, the 2001 birth rates in 100 states are grouped in the following frequency table.
Birth/1000 10-12 12-14 14-16 16-18 18 and over Total
No. of States 25 20 19 15 21 100
(End point convention: Lower point is included but upper point is not)
If one state is selected at random, what is the probability that the birth rate there is:

As a part of project contract, the client makes nominated supply arrangements for solar panels to be fitted by the selected contractor. Suppose that an overseas supplier provides 70% of solar panels and a local supplier provides 30% of solar panels in this project. In your inspections it is further identified that 2.5% of solar panels supplied by the overseas supplier are defective and 1.5% of solar panels supplied by local supplier are defective.
(i) What is the probability that a solar panel unit is both defective and supplied by the overseas supplier;
(ii) What is the same probability for local Supplier?
