I own 2 banshees, sold my 87 quadzilla due to the fact that parts are hard to find and expensive. O ringed the head, trail port, AAen pipe and it was 75/55 on the dyno. I much prefer the seating and riding experience of the quadzilla over the banshee. Banshees though are just so cheap to go fast and they have that great engine where parts can be found anywhere. Real nice bike!
My buddy has a 1990 Quadzilla, I just put a billet clutch basket and some other goodies on it. He still rips it quite often that's what they're made for. Enjoy it but take care of it.
Owned a 90' RMX250 for a season and it was the fastest bike I've ever ridden (for 1 week) I clocked 72 mph down a gravel road with a blown rear shock. On launch it spun all the way through 3rd gear, then almost every wear item on the bike failed and I couldnt find replacement parts and got out from under it. I'd love to own another one someday.
A crazy fact of these machines is that the compression ratio is an astonishing 8.5 : 1. I don't know why they had such low compression from the factory. I have also had a hard time finding performance parts for these. I guess they just didn't make enough of them to invest in a huge aftermarket. I took mine on the freeway though one time when my truck blew a tire and I didn't have cell reception. It was keeping up with the cars on the highway. Mine used to wheelie in first, second, and third gear, but I think I need a carb rebuild because it sat for a long time due to exhaust and clutch problem. Now I got that all fixed but I guess the gas turned bad and messed up the carb.
One, damn that's the cleanest Quadzilla LT500 I've seen, and my old buddy had a brand new '90 his dad bought him and wouldn't let him ride it until he turned 16 (mid90s, he had a older LT250R at the time) and this is cleaner than that looked 😅 I only owned like, a couple Suzuki's I can remember, and the one dirt bike (other was a GSX-R1000) was from the 70s and never found out what model it was lol( I just looked for it on Google, TM400 2-stroke 👌)....but I did build a Banshee, cough, stroked and bored Banshee with an RZ350 swap as a base(didn't kill the RZ, was just the engine I bought) that we ended up racing against each other in like, '99.... and he got smoked, on the street, after I finally hooked up with my 11" width Hoosier "streets" once I got past 3rd gear 😅 Edit: while I love the sound of a Banshee (especially after it's 521cc's 😅), there's something special about the sound of the 500 2-stroke single (owned both an early, 1984 CR250R and an 85 CR500R... should've never sold them, or the 75 Elsinore 250M 😢) Edit again: so I wouldn't beat that beautiful thing to death, but I'd certainly ride it every chance I got, just keep it safe and clean 😅
i still have my oem dunlop tyres for my banshee 1988 front are like new and rear are alright i just removed and put some other rims and wheels on, wanna keep all stock parts as much as i can (i did rebuild the engine and stuff) but engine and frame same vin. i just need the front white plastic i didnt get with the bike. and the rear a friend toke i need to take those back and give hum the blue ones but yeah oem tyres are rare cause you cant buy them anymore, and its cool to have
I would have to ride it but take the best possible care I could. Even back in the the day I would ride my banshee and the bring it home and take it completely apart and clean it back up. After 4 years of riding it is still looked brand new when I sold it back to the dealer.
Those 19’s are a perfect size. 18s lose so much on top end and the 20s lose so much center gravity. Hey bud I sold all my two strokes a while back. I got a case of amsoil dominator racing oil. It’s red and has the best smell imo. Let me know if ya need it. Love the content. I’m in north ga. Maybe trade it for a tour 😂
Whats the 0-60 with the new pipe? I owned a zilla? And ridden a lot of Shee's and 450s, but rode most of them decades apart. How does a piped LT500 stack up against a new 450 or rapter 700 in a straight line?
Ride it for sure lol maybe get some diff plastics and seat and keep those ones on there mint feel like they're hard to find oem don't know much about older quads tho
Not sounding ignorant but I get that same thing about a few banshees and at the end of the day we can buy another for the 10k, ride it and enjoy it I’d rather loose 2k for having fun getting a few rock chips than being mint and getting top dollar sitting on a shelf 👍🏼
I'd preserve the tires, but I'd still take it out and drive it. Especially if I had my own track. Then I'd clean and all that after and put it in the garage. Not like you just leave yours to fade in the sun.
Hey I have a blaster and I believe we live close could I contact you about it? It's not wanting to start maybe bad compression but it's clean and I'm sure you could help thanks man
I like to ride mine honestly.. yeah it's pretty just sitting there .... but ?? Zilla is an experience.. just like a banshee.. different experience .. but.. yeah.. ride it
Rip that shit, I had one back in the day, this beast used to pull through every gear.Had a banshee as well but this this is is like handling a fat chick and the banshee was more of a chubby one. I prefer the fat chick Bbbbaaaaahhhh

I'm in the process of rebuild on my 88 quadzilla. And cannot wait to rip it
Love the channel. Such a learning moment, like the 2vintage channel, seeing modifications that can be made to a quad.

Best quad made!!!
Ride it some and take care of it… it’s no good to anybody if you don’t ride it
It’s his bike he can do what he wants
@@brandonfollis4491 chill bro.. he ask our opinion … don’t melt snowflake
I cannot wait to see your tests between the machines. Love to see it
One the the coolest sounding quads even. Congrats buddy
That is sweet I grew up riding quads I wish I could afford one

Extremely jealous! My dream quad!
I had the same quad with the same pipe.and silencer. I wasnt a cool kid, but I was king of the bush party
Such a badass bike!!! I’m suprised the esr 310 kit sucks. I had the ESR 330 kit on my 250r and it was a monster.
Absolutely beautiful i’m super jealous
WATCHING THESE VIDEOS IS LIKE MAKING LOVE IN THE RAIN❗❗❗ I LOVE IT ❗❗💯💪
Given the choice - I’d shelf that one and find one “not so minty fresh” to play with 😂 - but if that’s not an option…yep…it’s getting dirty 🤙🏾
Ride it! Made to ride!!!
Nice 👍 absolutely a beautiful

I would love to see Banshee land one day🤘🏻
I'm in between. I would ride but also try to keep it nice
My opinion on it is the one you have is to pristine. I would of found another one to restore and use for the test.
Sounds good
Drive it but keep it awesome i have a cr500r and atc250r and going to look at this same thing tomorrow if they don't take the other guys price
Not sounding ignorant but I get that same thing about a few banshees and at the end of the day we can buy another for the 10k, ride it and enjoy it I’d rather loose 2k for having fun getting a few rock chips than being mint and getting top dollar sitting on a shelf 👍🏼
Rip it have fun but take care of it keep it looking good
I would have to ride the hell out of it man!!!👍🏻
How much are they going for in that shape?
I'd preserve the tires, but I'd still take it out and drive it. Especially if I had my own track. Then I'd clean and all that after and put it in the garage. Not like you just leave yours to fade in the sun.

Didn't change jets?
Hi, are you interested in selling the stock lt500 pipe and muffler?
Just let me know.
What do you run for fuel and oil in your bikes?
Wondering why you didn't adjust the Jetting
It was already jetted for the pipe when I bought it. Just had the stock pipe installed.
@@TheBansheeChannel Nice!
I mean ya can get parts so i would run it and it is beautiful just powerwash it and blow everything dry with air compressor
I'd turn it into a drag quad. Asphalt
I like to ride mine honestly.. yeah it's pretty just sitting there .... but ?? Zilla is an experience.. just like a banshee.. different experience .. but.. yeah.. ride it
For sale?

For sure take it out every once in a while it’s disrespectful to the Quad to just leave it sit in the garage.
Bigger bore kit
