i am exremly to see your working pattern you know why because you are the only person who replies to each and every comment of your viewers and thanks for all that
Thank you so much! I don't own a kiln so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there. Hence I won't be able to make a video on that. Sorry
Finally....my wait is over.... I was waiting for this complete process from the scratch till the complete assembling of the set...with all the process of your style of painting..... So happy to see this video... Thank you so much Neha😘 All the best for future projects...also share all with us... Thankyou Neva for all those wonderful videos that you have been posting related to Terrakota jewellery making 😃.Even I have been making these since about 5 years . Your are Best Terrakota artist I have come across !!😄I love your skill n perfection n every piece of yours is a masterpiece !! I need a few information.... like what time of Brushes do you use for filling minute areas ?? Do we get silicone brushes in India coz I stay in Bangalore ... are hole making tools available here on Amazon ?? Though I have many tools I need those for making Petal shapes as I am using a Straw instead !! To fire 🔥 at home , what time of kiln do I need ? can you please help me out in buying one. in Bangalore I have tried at clay station I haven’t got one If you can suggest me a brand or a place its available.. it would be very helpful Thankyou 😄
Hello Greeshma, Thank you so much for your feedback. Humbled by your feedback. To your Q's: -I use a liner brush sixe 20/0 for finer details. - Yes ofcourse we get silicon tip brushes in India. amzn.to/2JqlC5J - I haven't found one on Amazon India, but will update when I do. - Been working with terracotta jewelry for almost 12+ years I haven't bought a kiln so far as its a really expensive piece of equipment and requires a well-ventilated space to run it. I would recommend getting the service outsourced. One of the best brands in the world that makes kilns is Skutt. In India their price starts from a 1 lakh and above. You can try the HTC kiln gas top kiln from clay station as an budget alternative. BTW, please check the description box of the videos. I have provided a few links and hopefully that helps.
Oh Thankyou so much for your Detailed response to my queries Neha 😃🙏🏻I will surely check .. Yes of course I found d Gas-Top kiln @ Clystation n it’s not much expensive too it’s around ₹8000+
Amazing work! Thanks for making a process video and sharing product links. I have been looking into buying a portable kiln and get spooked by the possibility of a fire. What kiln do you use? I have a tabletop one that I’m eyeing from Clayking.
Thank you so much! I don't own a kiln so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there. I don't think it's recommended to have a kiln at home provided you have a separate well ventilated space to operate one in. As these equipments reach high temperatures, and kept on for almost 16 hours at a stretch it's safe to not do it at home. I understand you being skeptical about it.
paintedEarthbyneha unfortunately pottery studios near my home ( I live in GA) are snooty about firing clay that was not purchased in their studios. I use a charcoal barbecue that fires the low fire blackjack clay I use. I like it except for how quickly it dries while you’re working with it. Of course, my skill level is no where even near yours 😊
I have never done it at home. So I may not be the right person to guide you there. I always got it done in an electric kiln at the studio. I did the same back in the India where I would go to my sir's studio and get fired there in an electric kiln. Here in the US I do that same. I take my bone dry pieces to a ceramic studio and get it bisque fired in an electric kiln.
If it's absorbing paints too quickly then it's probably under-fired. I have a playlist of the different painting videos I have made so far. Please do check it out: ua-cam.com/play/PLrLYTN-iFD15rW7lJ2e1WyObrLBArRECB.html
Thank you so much! The drying time is based on the size and thickness of the pieces. This pendant and earring took a day and a half to dry completely, till it was no longer cool to touch. But I don't want to risk any moisture content in the piece so I just leave it for another day. So about three days. Some thick pieces I just leave it for drying for almost a week before firing.
Madam need your advise. That after paint is there any specific way to dry the paint under sun light because I am not getting good finishing I am getting so many patches
I product I use is called Decoart dura clear satin varnish. In India you can try brands like liquitex or brustro. While buying a varnish, you might want to follow this check list- Non-yellowing, clear, odorless, suitable for acrylics, easy to clean the brushes with water, fast drying.

The pendant, beads are made of clay and are individually fired and the painted and then assembled.
