Re Vance and Frawley: It's important to consider that Vivian was younger than Lucille Ball when they were on I Love Lucy. Add to that the fact that she was seemingly playing a much older woman and you can understand her being upset. And on top of it, her on-screen husband Frawley was a well-known boorish drunk who was hard for everyone else in the cast to get along with.
Vivian Vance is two years older than Lucille Ball. Vivian was born July 26, 1909 and Lucy was born on August 6, 1911. Vivian Vance started the feud with William Frawley on the first day of shooting when she loudly proclaimed in front of everybody (including Frawley) "Nobody is ever going to believe I'm married to that old coot!" Frawley never forgave her.
Vivian Vance was 2 years older than Lucille Ball and Ball did not hire her, in fact, she had preferred two other actresses but Desi signed Vance up. I believe that Frawley was signed up before Vance, and she knew her role, a lower middle class housewife with an older husband. Why did she take the role???Seem passive aggressive to me - was not on equal par with Desi and Lucy in terms of who was to be on the show. Also, thruout the series Frawley adhered to Desi's requirements about drinking on the show or not showing up. Thus Vivian Vance and William Frawley made the 2nd partnership on the show, the Mertz, comedy gold. Both were phenomenal in their parts. Luci and Desi both liked Wm Frawley as did the American public.
Truth! I remember reading about Vivian Vance saying how could anyone ever believe that she was married to that old so-and-so. But again, it's called acting. I would imagine there are thousands of actors who would rather not perform certain parts of their role, but they do it because of the craft, the fame, and the money. I cannot tell you how many times I've read about actors who wanted to be the star of the show but they didn't get that part and, while some of them are dismissed completely, others are relegated to lesser parts. And all the while, they're probably thinking that they should be the star. Like so many other jobs in life, it's highly competitive. Heck, even Lucille Ball had to fight like crazy to get her real life husband to play Ricky Ricardo.
Mila Kunis and Aston Kutcher didn't hate each other. They were just indifferent to each other, they were like two members of a cast who did their job and then went home without even saying bye to the other. Two strangers in a set.

I remember watching Lavern and Shirley. The two women were hilarious together, but I read somewhere that they hated each other. It could be that people that dislike each other make good comedy teams. For example, Martin and Lewis and Abbot and Costello. Even Laurel and Hardy were always fighting. Could it be that when people who don't get along are naturally funny when trying to appear to like each other in front of the camera?
Not true with Laurel and Hardy. L and H actually got along quite well! Laurel had creative differences with Hal Roach, the producer of their films and the owner of Hal Roach Studios.

I don't think it necessarily has to do with being funny. Many dramatic actors who hate each other also have a palpable snap, crackle and pop. Chemistry is chemistry. I wasn't surprised about any of them...we all sometimes meet people that we just can't stand for whatever reasons we have. That's why we're all human & no one is perfect.
Has me wondering if Robert Young and Jane Wyatt from Father Knows Best had any hostility between the 2 of them. Vivian Vance and William Frawley that's no surprise. As much hate that exists between those 2 I am surprised they lasted all those seasons acting as a couple on I Love Lucy.
Actually Wm Frawley and Vivian Vance are known today because of their partnership on I Love Lucy. From the beginning the American public (and the world) liked the show and all 4 characters in it - they were all part of making the most icon sit-com ever, still seen in re-runs all over the world - the first show was in 1951 - now we are in 2022. I think it will go on long after I'm gone. I don't remember seeing any of the other sit-coms mentioned. I like Danny Thomas, not only as an actor, but his amazing contribution in finding St. Jude's Cancer Center for Children. His contribution to the world is in that amazing endeavor.
In McMillan and Wife Rock Hudson played Police Commissioner. and Susan St James the housewife. Rock Hudson couldn't get along with Susan St James even though he was closet gay.
I had a hard time believing it too, until I thought about my best friend who was president of a fraternity in school, and his eventual wife was a member of a sorority, and they happened to despise each other. When they both graduated and, coincidentally moved to a small town in the Midwest to work for the same company, they got married in about a year. In Michael Landon’s book he didn’t have anything flattering to say about Pernell.
Everybody knew about Wm Frawley and Vivian Vance - while on screen chemistry was gold - off screen both hated each other. I think Vance made it known every chance she could. Actually she was the one who ignited the tiff.
Nice vid. One small correction - Unprofessional by Kirk Cameron - yes - In terms of how those actions reflect upon the Christian faith - I'd like to share this quote - It is better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Jesus was hardly a milk toast weakling nice guy like most who don't really know the faith believe.
Who was Kirk Cameron to be judgemental of his co-star? If he had those attitudes why not pass up the role? Same way I feel about Vivian Vance - why take the role if you were going to immediately start attacking your co-star cause he is too old.
@@LJ-ht4zs I didn't address Kirk's actions at all, as my point had to do with people without the proper knowledge or understanding re-defining who Jesus was, but in order to answer your question accurately I would ask you to define the term, "judge.'" Also , in reference to your point about, "passing up the role," remember that Kirk was a well established star of the show at the point they decided to bring her on board. It is certainly not without precedent that a star would want a say in the casting of a new romantic interest. There are tons of examples of that right here on UA-cam.
If Cameron actually pushed to fire the actress because of her prior work, it’s unprofessional, and unethical. When people lose their jobs, they lose more than income. They can lose health benefits, and eventually health. I’m a Christian and I would never risk someone’s job unless they threatened my life. If this is true about Cameron, I have no respect for the way he practices his faith. I won’t assume it’s true. Hopefully, he has more empathy and concern for his fellow human beings. It should have been the director’s decision who to hire and fire, based on a fair evaluation of the performance.

Actually, no one really believes Julie McCullough, because if they did there would have been a legal settlement of some sort. Feminist narratives like hers are far too often tolerated without any facts backing them up.
So… it was okay for the whole cast of Seinfeld to request the firing of a co-star but not okay for Kirk Cameron to disapprove of his co-star’s questionable decision to pose for Playboy while starring on a family show?

All offense intended: I am not at all believing that Mila and Ashton are really that happy. As for Julie McCullough.. she is a liar. ABC was not about to cast someone who posed for Playboy in main role of a family show. When Pam Anderson posed, she respectfully bowed out of *_Home Improvement_* even though Tim Allen went to bat to keep her on. Julie was NEVER really going to be cast.. and as the hate for Kirk Cameron's outspoken Christian beliefs have always been in fashion in Hollywood.. no one cares to really think about how the facts don't support her story in the slightest. One doesn't have to believe Kirk at all to know she is lying, rather the fact that ABC did it twice to two different actresses.. one who is still by far better looking and more talented than the other. Finally, Heidi Swedberg seems to be a very irritating person in real life.. so much so that even the fans were glad when Susan was killed off.
@@xxitskatlynnxx , actually, I am judging based on what we really know.. especially about Ms. McCullough. None of her story in any way really meshes with how standards stayed for two decades after she was on _Growing Pains_ for example. With what happened with Pam Anderson.. and with how conservative Tim Allen is.. that blows up her claims totally. As for the Kutchers.. I think it is mainly because I just don't see them working. She is far more talented than he is.. while he plays himself in every role. They just don't work. Lastly, watch all of the episodes with Heidi.. or at the very least the major plot points oft the George/Susan dynamic. You can visibly see the strain growing at having to work with her from the cast.. and how the the jokes at her expense were clearly growing far too directly personal. Knowing enough psychology reveals quite a bit about what you see.. even when it is a television show.. when you pay attention to the cast.. not the characters.
I don't feel hate - I feel that he has no right to judge his co-star and if it were against his Christian values that she was in Playboy mag. why did he sign up for the role?

I wasn't surprised about any of them...we all sometimes meet people that we just can't stand for whatever reasons we have. That's why we're all human & no one is perfect.
Has me wondering if Robert Young and Jane Wyatt from Father Knows Best had any hostility between the 2 of them. Vivian Vance and William Frawley that's no surprise. As much hate that exists between those 2 I am surprised they lasted all those seasons acting as a couple on I Love Lucy.
Robert Young was an alcoholic. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Frawley and Vance were professionals.
I'm a Baby Boomer and distinctly recall the first wife "dying" on Make Room for Daddy...and how genuinely sad I was at her departure. 🙄
In McMillan and Wife Rock Hudson played Police Commissioner. and Susan St James the housewife. Rock Hudson couldn't get along with Susan St James even though he was closet gay.
MythBusters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman
I have a hard time believing it about Kunis and Kutcher. They hated each other and they wind up getting married? Nah. That's BS. Hollywood hype.
I had a hard time believing it too, until I thought about my best friend who was president of a fraternity in school, and his eventual wife was a member of a sorority, and they happened to despise each other. When they both graduated and, coincidentally moved to a small town in the Midwest to work for the same company, they got married in about a year. On the other hand, 😂, they were talking divorce after one year of marriage.
@@calcham1 And Mila Kunis and Aston Kutcher are still happily married. Yep, it is all B.S. I remember seeing her in an interview here in a YT video and she talks about it. She said that during the show they were strangers to each other, they just came, played their parts and went home, she didn't feel a thing about him and the lack of feeling seemed to be reciprocal. It was only years after the show ended (2012) that they met again for same reason and started dating but the fact is they never disliked, hated or despised each other.
@@rubenoteiza9261 interesting! BTW, I had read that Mila Kunis lied about her age. I think she was 15, but said she was 18.
@@calcham1 Producers demanded that everyone of the younger cast had to be 18. She was 14 and she said she would be 18, she just didn't say WHEN. They figured it our anyway (come on, you just have to watch her in that first episode and get it!) but they thought that she was perfect for the role anyway, and she was indeed.
@@rubenoteiza9261 LOL, excellent! Thanks!
Danny Thomas, the richest man in television.
And one of the most generous.
Lorene Green was the only one that could get along with Pernell Roberts on Bonanza. It’s been said that Pernell was surprised by Michael Landon on the set of Trapper John according to Pernells stand in when Michael Landon was visiting his mother where Trapper was being filmed but I don’t believe it because Michael’s mother died in early 1981 and in January of 1983 on Entertainment Tonight they did a special day on Bonanza Michael Landon said “I got along with everybody on Bonanza I never got along with Pernell nobody got along with Pernell “. In Michael Landon’s book he didn’t have anything flattering to say about Pernell.
What about Stephanie Zimbalist and Pierce Brosnan in Remmington Steele?
Danny Thomas Show and I love Lucy Show! who knew?

Thanks for watching! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of video would you like to see?
I watched the show growing pains . My friend went for the part of the so he was the second to Kurt Cameron.
EVERYONE KNEW VANCE AND FRAWLEY HATED EACH OTHER. SHOULDNT EVEN HAVE BEEN ON THIS LIST AS ITS COMMON KNOWLEDGE.
Surprised about George and Susan and Milna and Ashton
I bet if Kirk Cameron was a devout Muslim, you all wouldn't be saying anything against him, lest you become a roommate with Salman Rushdie.
Happens also in churches people
Go around hugging each other
Whether or not they actually like them especially in pentecostal
Circles!
Regarding kirk Cameron. Please don't facetiously comment on something you don't understand. You come across as hating something you have no clue about
Actually, no one really believes Julie McCullough, because if they did there would have been a legal settlement of some sort. Feminist narratives like hers are far too often tolerated without any facts backing them up.
Like Jeff Garland was that on Goldbergs.
Julie McCullough is a beauty. Had a major crush on her.
We absolutely agree! Thank you for your watching our video. Which role of Julie appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse Her role in Growing Pains was my absolute favorite. Drew Carey show role was 2nd.
I think Larry Hagman couldn’t get along with Victoria Principal while on the set off Dallas.
What about some famous band members who actually hated each other in real life.
You can love somebody but don't appreciate what they are doing
So… it was okay for the whole cast of Seinfeld to request the firing of a co-star but not okay for Kirk Cameron to disapprove of his co-star’s questionable decision to pose for Playboy while starring on a family show?
I loved Seinfeld show. I look forward to watching it they have the new ones at night and the older we repeat song like six or seven lol watch out it was just a good show and then I could watch with my sister not worry about a weird thing. I really thought the mom on the show was gorgeous.
First world problems lol. Refreshing to see that even appearances can be deceiving. But when I think of Danny Thomas I think of St Judes. Nuff said!!
Anyone you spend long hours with day in and day out IS hard to get along with (especially creative personalities). Ever try living with anyone?- Even a divine being would get on your nerves after a while.
There's a lot of hostility in Hollywood. I was surprised Mila Kunis and Aston Kutcher didn't get along. As for Kirk Cameron, he always was a self righteous jerk.
Kirk Cameron changed after he became a born-again Christian. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 I liked him in growing pains but i couldn't believe all the negative stories concerning his co star's. A shame. On the other hand, his sister Candace seems to be a really nice person and was well liked on Full house.
5 years isn't a generation gap, 10 years would be.
I was surprised that John Goodman and Roseanne didn't make the list. Goodman came to the series as a seasoned actor. Roseanne was a pain in the ass
Why would they make the list? John has always said that he and Rosanne are good friends.
@@I.am.Sarah. no, there was a time they didn't when she was married to Tom Arnold. in fact, John spent much of the time off set not speaking to her. And, if you recall they killed off his character for awhile because John had enough. I think they did make amends later.
Surprised bolam and bewes jewel and baker aren't on there
ROFLMFAO!!!! Kutcher and Kunis are married, but hate each other??!!!! ROFLMFAO....STILL!!!!!!!!!!
Misery loves company
Jean didn't care for Danny...thoughts of Lina working with Ms. Dinsmore come to mind...
I suppose the professional actors and they paid well I’m sure they’ll get over their personal tiffs
VIvian Vance was born and raised in New Mexico, not Kansas.
My boyfriend told me that Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore didn't get along.
Getting a bottle of Champagne when you find out somebody dies! That’s horrible I don’t care who you are and how bad the person was especially when they weren’t like a serial killer or anything like that there was just another person you couldn’t work with them to celebrate all he said no and that’s just a horrible thing to do I mean I can’t think of anybody with a die like I would do that I can’t think of any enemies I have right now
I liked all couples!
Didn't know this!
Glad to know you learned sometthing new about these celebrities! What other types of video would you like to see?
Judging people you have never met a day in your life. Weird
Knowing enough psychology reveals quite a bit about what you see.. even when it is a television show.. when you pay attention to the cast.. not the characters.
also Bruce Willis Cybill Shepard hated each other
Danny Thomas and Jean Hagen.
zero DANNY THOMAS AND HAGEN.
Wow, just wow!!!
Hatchet job on Kert Cameron
Wrong
kert? it kirk, slow one
Kirk Cameron wouldn't get the hate he gets if he was anything other than a self-identifying Christian.
I don't feel hate - I feel that he has no right to judge his co-star and if it were against his Christian values that she was in Playboy mag. why did he sign up for the role?
Him being Christian has nothing to do with it. He’s a judge mental nut job.
Yeah, until they hit the bed..., 😆🤣😂😹 !!!
You got something against Christians? I could hear the hate in your voice when saying "Christ-like". Unsubscribed
I think if I character leaves from a hit show that has more seasons . They should be killed off in the show!
None of this is new information.
You must not research to much for these videos because Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are married!
Idiotic is a way to says.. government suggestions 🤔
