Aside from breaking down muscle tissue and burning fat exercising causes a whole bunch of changes to happen inside your body. These changes will affect your heart, your lungs, your brain, your hormones, and most of the cells in your body. So today I want to go over exactly what happens during exercise step by step.
And one of the first things that your body needs for any exercise or movement is energy. So when you workout your body, and especially your muscle cells, will increase the demand for adenosine triphosphate, also known as ATP. Atp is actually the only form of energy your cells can use. And at any given time, Your body will only have a small amount of ATP sitting in storage. This means that more of it needs to be created to be able to continuously output energy. So after you quickly exhaust the small amount of ATP stored in your cells, one of the ways that more ATP is created as you continue to workout is through a process known as glycolysis. This process is what helps turn glucose into ATP. Now, Glucose is a type of sugar found in the body, and it comes primarily from the food you eat. Most of this glucose is stored in your muscles and your liver. So it can be broken down quickly to supply your cells with ATP fast.
But this isn't the only energy pathway that your body can use to generate more ATP. At the same time that body tries to get energy quickly from breaking down glucose, it will also increase its demand for more oxygen because that allows you to create even more ATP. This is why exercise makes your heart rate and breathing rate go up. As your heart rate increases more blood will be pumped to your muscles to deliver that additional oxygen where it's needed most. In fact, your body can need up to 15 times more oxygen when you’re exercising. And that's exactly why you'll start to breathe faster and heavier when you work out.
This will of course depend on the type of exercise you do as well. During regular weight lifting, your body will obviously need more oxygen than you would need during rest, but cardiovascular training will typically increase your body's demand for oxygen much more causing you to breath faster and heavier when running or cycling rather than lifting weights.
As you push yourself and your body tries to generate more energy there comes a point where your body can’t bring in and take up more oxygen. Once you've hit that point it means that you’ve reached the maximum oxygen capacity for your body also known as the “VO2 Max.” You can actually improve your V02 max through cardiovascular training. The higher your VO2 max is, the fitter you'll tend to be and the better you'll be able to perform various forms of exercise, especially cardiovascular exercise. Not only does having a higher Vo2 max help you use more oxygen for energy, but it also decreases the amount of time it takes you to catch your breath after stopping. So if you have a higher V02 max you can take fewer and shorter breaks without losing your wind. On the other hand having a low maximum oxygen capacity, won't only make you breath heavier but it's also more likely to lead to spasms and cause the dreaded side stitch which will further limit your performance. You're more likely to get a side stitch with a low Vo2 Max because when you breath really heavy your diaphragm, which is a major muscle that's responsible for respiration, it can become fatigued cramping up your midsection.
Now as your heart beats harder it helps you circulate more oxygen throughout your body at a faster rate. This not only provides your muscles with the oxygen they need to keep functioning properly but this extra blood that's being pumped to the muscles assists with eliminating waste products from those same muscle tissues that are receiving the oxygen. This is an ongoing process since these metabolic byproducts continuously build up in your muscles as you exercise. Examples include lactate, phosphate, and hydrogen ions. These byproducts reduce the capacity of your muscles to continue to contract and perform at peak levels. That’s why this increase in blood flow is beneficial - because it helps to remove these metabolic byproducts. Getting rid of these is great because that metabolic waste is also what gives you that burning feeling, that becomes especially apparent when performing high reps.
For the longest time trainers, scientists, and almost everyone in the fitness industry believed that this burning sensation was caused by lactate. But lactate is actually not what makes you feel fatigue. So when your body uses glycolysis...

Exercising can get really hard sometimes but It always makes me feel better. Last year I started my fitness journey, and at that moment I had 350 lbs in bodyweight. One day I just started moving more, then slow running then I started doing weighted exercises and I was eating clean by following meal plan I got from Next Level Diet. Today I have 200 lbs and I am happy like I never been in my life.

I went from needing 10-12 hours of sleep, with a nap, to going all day on eight hours of sleep. That all by itself was worth the price of my gym membership.

Lost 80 lbs in a year so you are doing great. Try changing your routine and meals a little. I find when I get bored with my work out or meals then I want to cheat more. Also I found having a break now and again (usually when I am on vacation from work) i take a break from workouts and meal planning. I do gain but most is water weight so I drop that again fast. Sunday is only day I get any soda but I pick the diets or zero because again too sweet. I am focusing on being healthy. Since my early 20s I had heartburn issues and Dr's. Said pre ulcer borderline ulcer yes it's an ulcer then Gerd then really bad Gerd. Finally in my 30s a Dr finally looked beyond my weight and checked my gallbladder. I had stones and they kept slipping out backing the bile up and mssing with liver and pancreas but I feel no one looked beyond my weight even though I went to ER more than once. Second to last Dr walked in with the paperwork ready for a diagnosis before he even saw me. Now I have had no issues since getting gallbladder out. Though my weight loss has lessened my plantar facitis in my feet so not all bad. Anger is a powerful motivator lol.

All i ever feel is soreness after the gym. To which it takes approximately a week or two to recover from. I never really feel good from working out ever. Never. I mean never. I suck at gyms. I am not a free weight person. And almost always sprain myself, especially during deadlifts. Far from an expert obviously. I don't go overboard, and i know what i'm doing.
Where as when i work a physically demanding, labor intensive job, i feel far better. It's easier for me. I actually feel good.
I am extremely skinny, (like next level. Nobody can relate to my size), and can lift far more then i weight. (Not trying to humble brag here).
I'm more warehouse strong, then gym strong.
Meaning, i can lift large, heavy, oddball objects at a job site, but i really suck at gym's.
I can never find anyone to relate to with this as far as i know.
I never need help when dead lifting 200 pound objects from the ground, and onto a conveyor belt.
But i absolutely struggle with dumbbells and barbells.
Somebody explain this to me. Because i also notice everyone else dwarfs me in size, yet, struggles lifting what i can do alone.
I am 3% body fat btw. And barely a hundred pounds. I'm doing all i can to stay over the hundred pound range here. And I'm only 5'6.
    Complex much? Yeah.
But it doesn't take away from the aforementioned.

    • @ryansapp6814
      @ryansapp6814 2 роки тому +1

      A. Form and recovery are everything. If it takes that long to recover you are doing to much, literally start from scratch, 1 set per muscle group, take it super easy and ramp up according to recovery, session by session until it takes about two or three days for a muscle group to recover. You are doing to much if you are not recovering in that time frame.
      B. If you had 3% body fat you would be dead. Sure you are skinny that just means your diet needs to change, protein and lots of it. Caloric surplus.
      C. Leave your ego at the door. You self admittedly say you aren't good in the gym, yet you say you know what you are doing? Educate yourself, get a personal trainer for a few months to literally teach you. Binge watch good sources on UA-cam like renaissance periodization. Take notes. Everything you said indicates you don't know what you are doing. The most important thing you can do is educate yourself.
More wieght is not always better if you can't actually target a specific muscle or set of muscles. Go lighter on the wieght and take the movement slower. Aim for 10 to 15 reps(that's how you know it's a good wieght for working sets), aim for feeling the target muscle. I don't know the extent of your knowledge base, but even breathing properly is important.
Warm up. Watch videos about form so you don't injure yourself.
Progressive overload, and time under tension, Are how you improve.
log your workouts. Schedule it out.
Learning is the answer you are looking for. That and doing less wieght.(aka get rid of your ego)
Biomechanically shorter people are better at lifting in a lot of ways. Shorter distance to travel, better center of gravity.
Shorter muscles ect. Doesn't mean they will outlift someone larger in sheer weight.(strongmen are a great example of this)
Seen someone who is 145 pounds bench double his wieght and triple on his squat, he was 5'3.
You will almost never see someone do the same thing at 200 lbs and above 6'0.
Your job indicates you do heavy lifting and have for a while, there is a psychological component, and practice matters, age matters, level of fitness matters, diet matters. Ultimately there are too many variables on which to compare and accurately understand why "you lift more than other larger people you know" but what a said is probably the answer you are looking for.

The health is the most important thing to exercise for it's worth a small fortune because when you get old there is a good chance you won't need a ton of medicine. And vanity will take a back seat. But stay off the roids or the Grimrepper will chase you to the grave yard. How do I know l'll be 73 this summer and I don't take any medicine not even over the counter. I take all natural stuff if I need anything at all. Exercise is 50% of your health. Money can't buy it.
