What?!? All of that for U$30? I live in the Virgin Islands, Caribbean and presently don’t have insurance got stung by yellow jackets, which i am allergic to the stings. Went to our hospital, had 2 bags of fluid, a small bag of liquid antibiotics and about 2 needles with pain meds. I was there for about 5 - 6 hours, and i had medication to go home with, which was bringing in spasms...i left with a bill of $589.00. I am like, i am not trying to get sick again, that money hurt me so much... so paying $30.00 is amazing. This is the reason I am trying to move to Ghana, a more sustainable living. I hope that cough leaves your body soon.
Antibiotics does not work against viruses but bacteria’s so it might have been bacteria instead of virus. Viruses are treated with antimycotica. If the symptoms continue you might want to look into that. Coming from a nurse.
I heard Ghana also offer health insurance to everyone regardless of where you come from. One of our friends visited Ghana and did all 3 checkups, eye, dental, and medical, for a fraction of the cost of what she would have paid here in America
Ohemaa!!! yeaa there's universal free health care. You just pay a small yearly premium. Everyone can access it,even non-citizens. Go get it please Ohemaa.
Glad to see you much better, & sad you could not enjoy the company of your brother under the circumstance. Hoping he made the best of his visit. The Police Hospital has always been a good hospital, but there are now much better equipped hospitals out there that might have cost a tad bit more. But yeah, that’s cash & carry for you albeit nothing breaking an arm & a leg as in the West. And that sounded like a viral illness plus a good amount of acclimatization, there. Best knowing the nearest well-equipped hospital for any emergencies beforehand, & another selected for general care. Best of luck
Please I suggest you do another test to find out what type of virus it was just in case God forbid you get it again. I quite remember last year that was virus some of us had here in Ghana.
Wonderful, good to know that you are feeling better. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!

University Of Ghana Medical Centre is also another best hospital to be when needing medical help. It has excellent doctors and staff.
Thank you
