Amazing. I don't think I would take Cinamon or Engineer Pass so you are THE MAN.....and what about the hail and water you had to deal with....oh yeah and a flat tire. Geez
This route is a good intro ride and the shelf exposure is not nearly as scary as the video makes it appear. Take it slow and keep your eyes on the road. Pull over to soak in the views. And plan to spend plenty of time checking out American Basin on the way up to Cinnamon Pass. Good job on the vid!
Your video was very much enjoyed. Makes me wish I was there, which we usually are in mid to late Sept. but not this year. Thanks again for sharing your adventure to remind me of how beautiful it is.
Greetings from Durango, CO! Fantastic video. Super impressed you did it in a stock Tahoe. I have a stock '96 Tahoe & a modified '84 K5 Blazer. Planning on doing this trail this summer.
Nice video. Did I spot GY wrangler authorities on that truck? I plan to hit a lot of these great trails, hopefully sooner than later lol so it's nice to see what I'll be getting into, and if it's worth the drive or not(I live almost 1.8k miles away). Also, made me smile to see you letting your kids have a childhood(steering, riding the roof) they'll remember that stuff for forever! Again, thanks for taking the time to video tape and upload...Cheers!
Definitely worth it. This fall I had planned on doing a multi pass on my way home, but my Jeeps transmission did not agree with my plan. I'm 1200 miles away and the entire family is itching to get back, although we will camp back there next time to get the most out of it.
I did it in a stock 4wd Tahoe with MTs and no lift. Others may disagree with me, but I'm not sure that I would want to. The Tahoe felt oversized. If you do go. Take the loop from Silverton (over Cinnamon Pass) to Lake City to Silverton (over Engineer Pass). Do not take the trail to Ouray! You're too long and low.
@@kyliekylie5547 the ghost town in this video is the Y in the route. So I came through Silverton, passed by the ghost town and went to Lake City. Coming back the track would take back through the same ghost town through from the other direction. If you send me a message on Instagram ( @boomy_outdoors) or Facebook (Boomy Outdoors) I can send you a map?
Boomys Attic i have Instagram. I really appreciate it. We were really unprepared the first time we went so this is a big help. I'll message you on there.
Don’t know why not. In 2006 I saw a low clearance PT Cruiser travel up Cinnamon Pass from Lake City even though the signs recommended 4WD high clearance
Enjoyed until I saw your kids on top the Jeep. That was putting your kids in unnecessary danger...I don't care what the speed you traveling on the trail. Hurting your kids is not worth a trip like this.
Kids were not hurt nor would they be. Many of us were not raised in bubble wrap. They had a safety briefing and understood the rules/risks. There was zero risk to them. I on the other hand would have been standing on the roof trying to surf it as a kid. Life is an adventure or nothing at all. They will grow up with wide eyes and knowledge that they will be okay.......
@@BoomyOutdoors, I live in the country; my kids didn't live in your so called bubble wrap. Howrver, I would not expose them to unwarrrnted danger, which they will now think is acceptable.
That's ridiculous, the only danger they were in was falling off the truck(extremely unlikely) also, since when do you have the right to ridicule someone on how to raise their kids when you know nothing about him? You raised your kids and now you're a perfect parent I guess...I'm sure everybodys parents let them do questionable things(including you), but that's how you get scars and stories, let them live their adventures you jerk...and it's not a Jeep, it's a Chevy! Those kids are having the times of their lives, look how free and happy they are, like kids should be! Cheers to both of ya...
I'm glad my dad put us "in danger" many times. Total thrill. He did wheelies on his motorcycle while I held on tight. We stood on the running boards of a VW Bug at age 4. I called it fun, not danger.
Views is just amazing ..mountain..sky
.what a amazing place..thank u for sharin👌👍❤💖

Thanks, would have been more comfortable in my JK to be honest, but the Tahoe is a better highway rig for those road trips.
I love this place! no where in the lower 48 does an area captivate me like silverton!
There something ethereal about it.

..oh and yes those are Authorities. Theve done well in sand, snow, and rock, though I did lose a sidewall on my way out. Mostly my fault though.
Sounds like music form Last of the Mohicans
Same music / different musicians so you got it right
3:11 a Subaru on the Alpine loop.... Hmmmm?
What kind of animal was on the road?
G S the little furry one is a marmot
that animal is either a beaver or a marmot
Do you think a Subaru with 10 inch clearance and all terrain tires wpuld get through without troubles?

Music can ruin a beautiful video.

He wasn’t traveling fast enough for them to fall off even if they let go. Stay in your safe space Kenny.
