We have 2 Menards, the quality of stuff is right on par with Lowes and it's cheaper than Lowes. We have 2 Menards, 1 Lowes, 2 Rural Kings, and a Tractor Supply, Menards is easily the go to for me. Price is right, quality is right, and available options is right. You also can't beat 11% rebate back on everything you buy because they run that deal ALLLLLLL the time.

I would suggest buying lumber from Menards instead of HD or Lowe’s. First of all it’s usually nicer then the other two and second Menards has a lumber yard in the back so you can just drive in the back and load it straight into the trailer instead of loading into a cart and then again into the trailer.

That grease gun is great. Had mine for over a year now, and it’s worth every penny. I use it constantly on heavy equipment, and prefer it to the m18 one. Just need to get a lock-n-lube and a swivel for it. Really nice setup to really use the full 8000 psi out of it.

I use the TapeTech skimming blades. If for some reason the blade gets bent I can replace only the blade and not the whole tool. I also use the M12 grease gun, mainly around the shop. Its way better than old school grease guns. It's kind of like the M12 caulk gun. I dont use it every day but damn glad to have it when I need it. Not sure how often you use thick adhesives. I use alot of Black Mamba for undermount sinks. If you have ever squeezed on a tube of it you will know what I'm talkn about. I bought it just to install undermount sinks but have started to use it for other things.

One thing menards has that I really like and is super underrated are the Montana brand bits. They're all made in USA and super high quality for a good price.
I freaking love the Montana impact rated drill bit set with the 1/4" hex drive to use in impact drivers, they drill through metal like butter. Also the impact bit sets are very high quality, they have real Robertson bits that work great with square drive screws.
They also have some cool woodworking bits like plug cutters meant for portable drills. The drill bit/pilot drill bit holder that makes it easy to drill pilot holes and then swap with your screwdriving bit, or the countersink drill/driver combo bit. Amazes me that the Montana brand stuff stuff more popular.

Otherwise menards is good for buying cheap one off tools, they have a huge selection of cheap single sockets or wrenches. They don't have the big 3 power tool brands, they have skil, Bosch, and then their own masterforce power tools. Nicest thing about them is they carry so much stuff in one spot.
For the years they carried the biggest selection of toughbuilt bags but I heard they dropped toughbuilt for their own masterforce clip tech bags (that are apparently compatible with toughbuilt) likely has to to with the toughbuilt Lowes deal and I assume toughbuilt might even make the masterforce bags

Menards often has 11% rebate. I pretty much don't shop there without it. You just need to remember to send it in. Some Knipex, Wago, GRK. The Masterforce toolboxes are actually pretty decent. Just use some dental floss to remove the logo. Furnace filters. Some decent inexpensive work gloves, but lots of garbage too. Avoid the off brand fasteners and basically the off brands in general at Menards. They always lead to frustration.

I think it was in a comment a few videos ago but the adjustable wrenches including that bahco was a slight mod to them. I put a small brass open bushing sirclip or anything to push the worm gear more rigid. Once you do that and you lock on with your thumb it takes play out of the mechanism. I got a pack of tiny brass sirclips with no label metric? a long time ago they tighten things up. They helped my lobster and fujiya adjustable wrenches as well. I think maybe some brass bushing for a thoes fancy edc super steel knifes may work as well if you cut a flare in them. Maybe it will help some of you out there good luck 👍

I'm glad you like the adjustable wrenches they are better in many ways. I carry a 3 in 1 oil pen and perfer that to wd40. I use the tajima electricians knife for door adjustments, moroseing hinges stuff like that since it's always in my bag and slim. Mine isn't as sharp as new but it hasn't dulled much and consider it a installation/quick repair tool. You deserve to give it a shot and not relegate it to box opener status. I didn't know that plastic cap came off thanks for the info. I haven't used a grease gun since the farm and I don't think it's something I'd ever use but for the tool junkie what's the harm even if it's only so often. I have one of thoes Lee Valley cutting rules and use them on foam board with 25mm snap knives they are useful. The chisel knife won't hurt to slip onto your bag so when the homeowner has a door issue you get to be the hero!

We have several Menards in the area, including the town I live in. Right next to my nearest Menards is a Home Depot. 9x out of 10 I go to Menards. Maybe it's because I know where everything is. Lol. Masterforce is a good brand. Lifetime warranty for most of their hand tools. Pretty equivalent to Husky from Home Depot. Menards also often has an 11% mail in rebate for in store purchases, and they carry some of the more popular Knipex, Channellock, and some other quality brands of tools. I definitely like the electrician's chisel. It would be great for door hinges That big skimming blade is nice myself i prefer a flexible blade. Btw. have you ever used a hawk and trowl for mudding sheetrock.?? I been thinking about trying that out. But i hate to get invested in something that im not to sure about thanks Morgan

I’m the same on the Hawk and Trowel… I’ve watched plenty of people do it and I see the advantage. I think if I was doing new construction I might try it, but I see myself dropping a bunch of mud on a finished area 😂

I recommend you try and hawk and trowel start cheapish and see how it goes for you. The aluminum hawks do fine paired with an average stainless trowel for I saw anvil or house brand. If you like it get a magnesium or level 5 anodized aluminum. The more you spend on a trowel they get thinner and more flexible which is a good thing. I don't drop mud even on comerical short pile carpet for some reason the more expensive tools materials/coatings make it harder to drop mud. Give it a try for $30 or less. One investment that helped me alot is the hawkmate it screws onto the handle and holds to tools on the bottom knives or trowels doesn't matter. Hawkmate Marshalltown made in usa.

I’m from Wisconsin so we’ve had Menards for forever. They don’t have the greatest tools always but they do carry some Knipex, Bosch and have some good value in some of their master force brand tools. About 8- 10 years ago I bought on clearance for about $50 together a 6’ and 8’ masterforce levels they are gray and green and said made in Germany but the extrusion and hand holes looked really familiar, not much info on them but apparently they were made by stabila.

I use level 5 .5mm curved trowels myself and I've seen how much skimming blades are. As someone that dislikes drywall that would be something I'd consider cheating out of for sure. Even if you got the level 5 blade seprate and put that vevor part on it I'd be cheaper. That vevor is a import company that's has one usa address to take letters for lawsuits. There only rebrands so you defently gamble with this but for a odd item sure why not.

The inside of the lip is kinda curved for your fingers, so I don’t think it would rest real well on the edge of a board. It’s more for setting flat. Not saying it won’t work for that, just not as well if that lip was flat instead of curved

@@MORGANSMaintenance any generic silicone oil should be fine. lots of brands make it in pen forms with little needle applicators. and a lot of oils designed for guns work well too. the problem with WD40 is it can melt things due to the solvents, and the product itself evaporates pretty quick so will need reapplication pretty frequently.
