- Someone was asking about this. It's a VW beetle steering wheel on a 1969 Bay window bus.
I got the vehicle this way, not sure if it's a direct fit or if any modifications were required.
I like the bug wheel because it is white, not sure if I will change it. - Авто та транспорт
It’s nice how you show so much detail in all your videos. I know a lot of people are appreciate that.
Thank you Sir ! I appreciate that.
Who would have guessed! 😀🔧
Hello my friend, thanks
I think the white wheel that's on their looks fine to me
I agree! I like the white
Missed this video for some reason. You need the bigger wheel for the torque when turning. Everything else looks stock. Take off the horn button and see what’s hiding. I won’t be surprised if the previous owner did some shenanigans to get that bug when on there. Maybe he welded it on 😂 the splines on bugs and buses are different sizes. I forgot to mention on your other video the later bus bumpers are one piece with no side pieces because they don’t wrap like your. The newer buses are shorter with no step.
Time will tell what I do with this steering wheel. I like it because of the white. On the other hand if I can't turn the wheel ????
Yes I realize the difference now in the bus bumpers. It's a learning curve !
Thanks for the follow up Pstreet! Think I might figure out mounting a white bug wheel on my bus. Your blinker selector and key ignition housing all look like bus original to me, fyi.
I think you are right, the column looks like bus. And you are welcome ! Isn't You tube great ? Most of the comments have been about how much harder it will be to turn the wheel. 2 inches in the difference. Idk. ?
@@pstreetgarage7304 it is about an 11% delta in input torque from the shorter lever arm, so it’ll definitely be noticeable. For an able bodied person it’ll fine though. Plus I started seeing adds for a bus power steering adapter 😂
@@callalilycollective Ok awesome 👍
It will be harder to steer in parking lots, less leverage. Once you drive it, you can decide if the smaller wheel is for you.
Yes exactly !
Thanks alot for sharing brother
Thanks for watching !
👍🛠😀
Thank you Sir !
Very interesting, very cool brotha
Thank you Brotha!! Boom
Cool
Thank you Sir !
Well you have both steering wheels so go with the one that you like. Its not like you can't change it later if you want 😜
For sure ! Somebody was asking, it's why I did the vid
@@pstreetgarage7304 right on. Hopefully you are having a good day today, I'm sure you don't have your AC going today. Lol 71 here this morning, 40's for tomorrow. Lol
@@briankalfus598 Sunny right now but calling for rain. Will melt some of this snow hopefully.
Im guessing 2 inches will make a BIG differance just like a
Large prop spins slower and moves more mass with less energy.
Small prop needs to spin faster to move the same mass with more effort
Im guessing its not power sterring. So how fast do you want to turn the wheel. I would bet you have a 2 3/4 or 3 rotation turning wheel on now. Alot like the comet vs mustang steering wheels
Will be technically harder to turn yes
Sorry, I ment the larger wheel would give more leverage.
@@Whitecranekungfu Yes.I Understood lol
I like the White & the fact it's a bit smaller too! I'm guessing it bolts straight on?
I would assume so. I like it also. Thanks Jason !!
Different year busses have different splines or keyed shafts for steering wheel. So there’s a chance an adapter is needed.
@@callalilycollective Time will tell I guess. I'm not at that stage.....I'm dealing with rust 🙄
