Just a note: Kichijoji doesn't actually appear in SMT 4. However "Kiccigiorgi Forest" while having nothing to do with the actual Kichijoji is a bastardized spelling of Kichijoji, so I included it anyway just in case some smart ass brings it up.
SMT IV's Kiccigorgi Forest theme has to be my favorite. It fits the atmosphere of the situation the Samurai are in. Especially once you realize who the villagers are..

I loved Kichijoji 199X so much upon first hearing; possibly one of my favorite songs in Royal as a whole. For quite awhile I never did realize it came from SMT, but it makes so much sense. My favorite SMT Kichijoji is still the SEGA CD for how oppressive it sounds, as it really bears down on you, but I love that Royal's didn't have to, so instead we get this much funkier, jazzy vibe - not to mention the leitmotif, which I also love. Such a good song in general.
I will say, while not oppressive, it does keep a level of heaviness to it that makes it an absolute bop. It's definitely the PS1's heaviness, though, and not the SCD's.
