I have always struggled with defending especially right after a new version drops but this year seems different. I especially like the new Advanced feature where you can shoulder to shoulder bump or isolate the attacker and take the ball. This maneuver has always been done to me using the regular controls while I could almost never perform it properly while running and now I can finally do it to with a good success rate. Looking at other videos, some have stated that Tactical defending option allows you more time to time your tackle!! If I ever learned anything from playing this game and all the previous versions......DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU, and if everybody is doing something and works for them doesn't necessarily means it's gonna work for you.

Thanks for the vid Neal!! that last tip to switch off the vibration tells how far we have come from playing fifa for fun and joy to now it being a competitive headache every match where we cant even enjoy the playful enhanced features we once most sought after, just bcs of the fear of losing some miniscule advantage😕

If I want to defend like fifa 15-16-17 times - should I use classical, tactical or advanced? I do bad when using advanced though...

With all the sliders either on semi or assisted you might as well let the console play the game try manual for some it makes the world of difference
Lob Pass should ALWAYS be manual. Lobs are terrible when its set to assisted. Manual gives you way more control and allows you to actually make long passes and switch of play to where you intend to pass to. Its so important for Clubs for any positions not Forwards.
It's true, but for the average players especially under pressure, probably not I would say
Game is way too sweaty for manual lobs. I just want the game to execute the pass I intend to the player I want it to go to.
@@eazyroc3594 Probably, I think its underutilized for many players, its actually very useful. Assisted lobs are way too easily intercepted or not going at the power and speed you intended to use. Manual allows you to long pass out of a press more reliably and actually at the power and speed you want to.
Basically opens up a lot of options for you when you are on the ball and able to choose when and which type of lob pass you want to with increased control and direction of your lobs.

Dude legendary is impossible for me in squad battles I’ve lost like all 7 or 8 of my matches on legendary and most of them by a convincing score line. However I’ve won pretty much every world class match with ease. I’m talking regular 6 or 7-0 wins

Its not just defending, when im attacking each player I face there teams ai tracks me like prime madrid i don’t get it?
This game ain't for me man I've always struggled at defending and no matter how much I play I never improve and this defending in this game is so hard and its even harder because no one plays proper football people get to the box line or in the box and all they do is agile dribble or twist and turn constantly and I can't defend it I'm scoring goals but conceding to many goals and if I can't score I'm fucked
And I'm using tactical defending

I hate that my movement is contained in clubs by the ai somehow, if I want to run right it often makes stops me or makes me move left if ut thinks I should move left.
Neal, my main man for everything on fifa/ea xD man they made defending crazy buggy this year too. Usually my defending is my better trait but this year i just can't get into it as well.

I managed to adjust all my controller settings with advanced defending fine? Just went into controller settings in main menu before ultimate tea,. I have customer pro evolution controls ( variation of alternative)

Very good video! But I do have to disagree with the Advanced Defending part. I am nowhere near being an elite player, not even necessarily very good but I found it so helpful. I always had defensive tackles on circle so that stayed for me and it added just the shoulder check on X. And with that they added the playstyle ‚Bruiser+‘. I got that on one of the defensive women in my team and when you go shoulder to shoulder with another player and press x she just checks the opponent away and he tumbles like 2 or 3 meter to the side WITHOUT it getting recognized as a foul by the game.
I've been destroyed twice without a foul being given, must have been that new x tackle.
Yeah tactical isn’t for me! People were just running through me but as soon as I switched up to advanced, people are getting bodied lol

Every time I’m playing online and I press the B button to tackle it does not tackle and when I try to run the catch up with The plays, the plays are always walking past. It’s ridiculous how this FIFA 24 game is I keep on losing as I can’t seem to tackle, or get close to the other players to stop them from scoring

Please help I play offline a classic match with my friends at home every time one controllers AI is more stronger than the other in pressing for the ball the attack while the second pad is will lag.. this has being a big issue cause people win you not because you are not good but cause the AI helps them more and they just run past your defense
I have a problem with playing rivals. My controller on PC just stops working when I enter an online game. Kick off works perfectly but online games not. Wdid

Assisted passing is absolute whack guys put it on semi you will notice a massive difference my game was playing weird for 3 days until my mate told me to use semi and ever since the passing has been much better

Can you make a video how to play against Legendary squad battles? Every fifa I win usually scoring a lot but this fifa it's so difficult. Getting the ball from AI feels nigh impossible.

@@Frozalante Don't worry it's not just you. AI legendary is like playing a sweaty PRO Weekend league player. Impossible to score a few or win in my case. They honestly ruined it. Made it so almost impossible to score 5-6 and win. Playing legendary in EAFC24 is like playing ultimate in fifa 23. They ruined it.
