Split 3/3 RHML and torps.... no. Just no. Never do this. You will have sub-par dps vs everything. Pick one of RHML, cruise, or torps. For what you're doing, I would recommend RHML, even though the Raven has literally no bonuses to heavy missiles. Your small nos is useless vs everything. The target must have more available cap than you for it to drain anything, which it never will against any smaller ship. Stick with a neut. You can insta-cap a tackler and warp out if you're already aligned.

This is a roaming fit. I don't know what kind of hostiles I will stumble upon. Eg. just using torpedos versus a frigate gang is usually hopeless. Remedy: Add a much needed Target Painter to increase application. But that will be one less mid-slot for your shield tank. Therefore:
RHMLs: for application (their inherent bonus, so to speak)
Torpedos: dps and volley damage, especially versus larger targets
- Using RHMLs has another side to it. Due to their relatively low CPU and PWG requirements, one is able to fit a larger active tank without using low slots for Reactors or Co-Processors, or rigs for likewise.
A larger active tank makes you able to survive longer, hence the actual dps applied during a battle increases just because of that, mitigating the relative low instantaneous dps of the ship.
- A small NOS has its benefits. It is only fitted to drain cap in the event that your capacitator is depleted, hence when it is fluctuating around zero.
Example using a small NOS: A Raven with my tank generates approx. 60 GJ/s. A small ship like the ubiquitous Kikimora has a capacitator of 750 GJ (all skills at lvl 5). Let's say it only has 40 % left. That is 300 GJ. Say the cap of my Raven is depleted, then the small NOS will actually work, it will drain 10 GJ/s every 2.5 seconds, and consequently it will likely keep scram and web active, and, most importantly, together with the +60 GJ/s cap regen of the ship it will increase the probability of being able to run the invulnerability shield hardener (12 s cycle time), which of course is a decisive element of the tank. A tech II invul has an activation cost of 32 GJ, a Pithum C-Type 40 GJ.
@@zerotransversal Thank you for taking the time to reply. But there are three cardinal rules in Eve Online: Don't fly anything you can't afford to lose, don't dual tank, and don't use split weapon systems.
AFA the nos, how well did that work for you in this video? Seems like not at all.
@@yuwish6320 I like to exchange ideas, so thank you. Every utility you fit (neut, nos, smartbomb) may or may not come in handy, it is situational.
About rules: There are no rules, and that's the only rule. But I agree that the rules you mentioned are good guiding principles.
On split weapon systems, an example: A situation where you have a Kitsune using ECM from like 80 km while his friends scram you and fire at you from Void range with impunity. What do you do in your Raven? I sometimes go Cruise + Torpedos when I roam, particularily in regions where I know from zkill that a lot of bigger ships make up the gate camps. Against the Kitsune torpedos will be of no use due to their short range (30 km). But cruise missiles, their range is around 200+ km on the Raven, depending on the modules, skills, etc. With cruise missiles you are able to pressure the Kitsune to warp off.
Another note, are torpedos, cruise missiles and RHMLs really different weapon systems? They are all missiles. Tick. They all benefit from the same damage modifier in the low slots, ie Ballistic Control Systems. Tick. They all benefit from the ship bonus. Tick. What separates them are application, range, reload time, volley damage and dps - and that is exactly what I need, especially a variety of application, range and volley damage.
So the cardinal rule you mentioned about mixing weapon systems, do not in my opinion really apply when using different missile launchers.
@@zerotransversal In my opinion you want to decide between torps and RHML. Cruise missiles dont really do anything for you, i dont think they are worht fitting just because there might be a kitsune ecming you from 80 km+. If there is one, deaggress and burn back to the gate, thats about all you can do. Fitting only torps+targetpainter or only RHML for good application to low sig ships but long reloads is better i think

Operational Solidifier runs your xlasb faster; which is definitely not what you want. Good video.
For shields there are no auxiliary rigs as we have for armor, so to create more burst using rigs there are no alternative to Op. Solid. rigs, and the anti-XX shield rigs are not good enough when a second one is added (reason is diminishing returns and that they of course only strengthen one of the four damage types).
So I want one Op. Solid. because it yields more EHP/s at the marginal cost of using the 400s a little faster (ie the same amount of HP repaired in less time). I think it is worth it especially when using 3 XLASBs.
You should engage your drones on a bomber in that fight vs Typhoon and a bomber. Bombers do the hell of damage to BC+ size targets. Maybe even do with RHML as well.

yes, they removed the ability to remove all the implants at once for that very reason, so people couldn't pull them as easy

seen a raven go down to a trig destroyer (Drek) which webbed the raven and ripped it open on hi speed close orbit. raven armed for heavies. also a typhoon throwing in a few volleys. raven went down, had no answer for the close in trig with single large destructor.
You really know your missiles, i had no idea typhoon has the radius of a battlecruiser!
Nano Typhoon (or nanophoon, as it is often called) may therefore be a viable option in the current meta. As always, given the right circumstances.
I've taken a few typhoons solo but it was like trying to crack a nut with torps. Couldn't understand why. Now I know. o7 incredible solo content here. The closest to a raven I'm not afraid to fly is my Golem named Raven (is a bird) hehe I always forget it's a Golem! 😂

When your ship blows up leave immediately by spamming warp after you choose a destination. You just learned all there is to learn from dying In Eve online. Loosing ships, that is a different subject.
I've been practicing that for awhile... But, honestly, sometimes I just forget, probably caused by grief knowing my ship is exploding...

Really curious on why you use 400 boosters instead of 800s
If I did, it may be that there was a little room left after filling the cargo with 800s, just enough room for one 400, perhaps...
In general I use 800s exclusively on battleships. Of course.... Anything else would be ridiculous.

Well odds are yoy didnt have pvp gear, no implants or built for pvp action. That is 96% of what happens...people see these amazing pvp vids think they can do it only to get utter rektd by the smallest thing...
Soo make sure you have proper skills....pvp gear...and knowledge that, yes a cruiser can and will single handedly take down a battleship... if you don't understand what to do.
Hell even a tackle frig could pose a huge threat to a battleship if its not fitted properly.
Know your role, fly in it.
Bigger is never beer in eve. Just increases your odds to die.........at least that's how this newb(me) understands the game....i also learnt the hardestof ways, several times......3x 3+bill single fit ships gone to stupid stuff and thinking i can do that.....nope

and he was slow af at activating stuff, why werent weapons and scram/web pre activated on the munin? why werent all 3 xlasbs just pre heated so he didnt worry about heating them during the fight?
and id be really making that curse my priority 100% that cap drain is awfull and they are recons, not the tankiest think on grid and you should still applye, plus still a expensive killmail
also when fighting those kikis id be decloaking and shooting stuff as soon as possible, not waiting the rest of the gang to show up so i could deal dps with less dps on me
