I was training my Robin Reilly's dojo in NJ and Okazaki Sensei came for a clinic. We got a picture of all the brown belts (I was one) with him and made a lame joke about being in "Brown Belt Magazine". He laughed so hard - he always had a great sense of humor and was such a great teacher and person. He always treated me like gold - and he gave me my 1st Dan in 1983. I am fortunate to have trained with him. RIP, Sensei.
This is fascinating listening to Okazaki Sensei on the subject of the Tanden. It's great that he speaks English so well and is prepared to discuss subjects that most Japanese teachers simply can not communicate either through lack of language skills or perhaps they simply do not have this level of knowledge. Thanks for making this available. Ossu!
@njordan445 um.....who told you that? When I was training at Glenside we used to go out and drink beer and eat pizza with him, his nephew Hiro-sensei and Taka-Sensei after our monthly monday night training with him. Down to earth gentleman.

Sensei Okazaki is the head master at my dojo in Philadelphia. only a few are allowed to meet him. I cant wait to get the oppurtunity
when i first started shotokan in 1964 he was my inspiration..his style was poetry in motion, and a good looking guy also.
Okazaki Shihan on Seika tanden thanks for posting
I think it's Seika Tanden, not Seika Tanden (according to Okazaki sensei's description). Hope we can train with him again.
Osu, Okazaki sensei!
was this taken at Corregidor?
What did he say???
He's awesome I train at his dojo in philly and he can still do splits even though he's like 80
Oops, it should be 'it's Seika Tanden, not Seika Kanden'...

Yup! he is a legend and he is now 10th dan!
Taka Sensei used to be my teacher. Even if Senei Teruyuki may not teach or train there it is his dojo. if that makes sense
@erbia907 he's older than that.
