" Saudi men are pleased with women driving." I would like to state that my dad said that he would not let me drive until he dies, and so is most of the men here in Saudi Arabia

Latifa Alawad your dad represent a single human being in the kingdom. And unless you've got some valid stat; don't generalize. It speaks ignorance rather than truth. I share my opinion with the utmost respect.

Zee Motovlog I didn’t generalize.. I said most.. all of my friends’ dads in school in college in work my cousins from both sides have the same opinion.. I did not say anything without knowing MY society. They wouldn’t let us drive because they are too scared that some other men will harass us sexually :) and that is not a valid reason to me because I can protect myself just fine. My college is a one hour drive away from me and I have to pay 1000riyals that’s almost 300$ a month in order for a driver to take me there :)

We have the right now to Drive- go to stadiums - enlist in the army 'high ranking too' - divorced women have custody of their kids IMMEDIATELY and can divorce her husband 'for ANY REASON'- we had All this in ONE YEAR. Not to mention lifting the ban on cinema's - music concerts AND abolishing the religious police wich was the thing we were most happy about.

How is he bringing progress? Allowing women to drive and opening movie theaters is very 1920's. Why doesn't he respect minorities in the country? Stop committing war crimes in Yemen? Stop spending BILLIONS on himself. So much for anti-Corruption. His agenda applies to others, not him.

I didn't exactly had the best experience in Saudi while working there, but i am so happy for the saudi women. It is a huge change for everyone. Especially now they are pushing for saudization. It is a huge help that they can move around without hiring drivers or wait for their husbands.i frequently witnessed kids as early as 8 yrs old drive their moms to the clinic which is more dangerous.

The irony is Saudi women are far more richer than the women in western countries and far more educated. I have known womem from families who all have Masters' degrees and 75% of them are Doctors too, working with 0% tax and 250000$ per year income.

    • @infullbloom3246

Maybe because the are aware they have to pay the FAIR pay not like in ME when you wait for months if not years to get paid. If Saudi would pay their staff fair wages, they'll wash their own dishes too.

The penalty is supposed to be public idiot, if it still happened today you'd see the footage.
There is a story that once a man walked up towards the prophet and confessed to him that he committed adultery, and asked to be punished so god would forgive his sin. The prophet confused told him to go away you're crazy.
Moral of the story is the punishments are supposed to be deterrents. Even convicting a person with adultery is almost impossible, because a judge would need four witnesses.

The issue of driving is from culture. Depending on the circumstances and environment, women were prohibited from driving due to safety and security etc. Nothing to do with the religion. Now circumstances ha got better so is the right time to lift the ban. In Many Muslim countries it is allowed for women to drive, yet women choose not to drive due. For the Muslim progress is in learning, acting and holding on to the religion of Islam is success. Not pleasing other people or nation.

There are Saudis who can't speak English and some who do speak with an accent. The ones in the video were probably over exposed to American entertainment since adolescence. Plus good American education. It exists in some cities in Saudi.
