Plus, you can get oversized faceplates for outlets and switches. I just completed a bathroom remodel, and the drywall with the smooth finish created the sunken outlet box situation. The spacers and the oversized faceplate worked great.
May I suggest an additional safety test. When you plug your tester into the duplex outlet to verify that the circuit is off, TEST BOTH SOCKETS. While replacing the 40+ year old outlets in my sister's house, I discovered that on one of the kitchen outlets, the top and bottom sockets were on separate circuits. My tester was plugged into one of the sockets and indicated power was cut to that circuit. But when I pulled the outlet from the box, I got zapped. The other socket was still hot. I had to then locate the second breaker and shut it off as well. The outlet was obviously wired this way on purpose when the house was built. It was literally a shocking discovery. Fortunately, I am still alive to talk about it. 🤨
I’ve done a lot of public speaking in my career and I found that eliminating extraneous words and phrases makes my message more interesting and more effective. Try to eliminate the word basically from your presentation. It doesn’t add any value and it becomes a distraction. The same is true for the phrase “pretty much”. You over use both of those. Listen to this video and image you didn’t say basically or pretty much and I’m sure you’ll agree your presentation is better.
OMG, "dry wall, wood, tile, finishing pad, ..." You need to give that list just one time, not every time you refer to the "wall". Thanks, Mr Gamblepudding.... This video could be 1/2 as long.
Outstanding. Thank you for your time, and willingness to share your knowledge.

Where can we buy the little pads and box extenders?
You need to check dead both outlets. In a lot of homes, the bottom outlet is switched and the top receptacle can still have power.
The ears on the outlet snap off with pliers and are ment to be used as spacers.
0:20 *As experienced, I almost never turn off the power. How would you know when you make a misfire mistake?!*

I stopped counting at 20 “basically”s…

Yes and don't preface everything with 'basically' and 'pretty much'.
Ever hear of a tripod to hold the phone steady?
Hold the camera still. I threw up from being on a boat. Lol
I threw up at how many times “pretty much” was said.
So basicly, you basicly use basic materials for these basic repairs. Plus, I'm not happy that you flipped us alll the bird!
*STOP SHAKING THE CAMERA!* ***FAIL***
