We had a center belt steel cleat break, and wreck belt on 1 of our HDR 45 headers. Deere has a new center belt design with overlapping flaps that bolt together. Seems much tougher. Is that the type you got now? I would highly recommend it.

The belt we put together had a strip of metal that matched the pre drilled holes on each end of the belt .. laying them together then the strip binds them from either side… it was the same belt we had before failed I believe…
