    I like this presentation for one simple reason, money?
    Neither of you said, "To get STARTED, you need to spend $20,000"! Nope, a "decent" rifle and "decent" optic!
    To be, doesn't mean a lot, (mean't very respectfully), because I consider this to be a younger person's endeaver? With a bolt avtion rifle if I can group a couple inches at a few hundred yards, with 66+ year old eyes I'm good.
    This presentation a wonderful for younger people who want to get into long range shooting! You guys really held my interest!
    Great job! Thanks to both of you!

      Walter Miner Thanks Walter. You always have very insightful comments. Everyone thinks that it takes a TON of money to get into long range shooting and that is not always the case. I have a friend that is 68 years old he he is just getting into long range as we speak.
      Thanks.

      @@XRING Your friend grtting started at 68? Geez, I'm just a kid, I'll be 67 in 4 months! Lol! Seriously, that's great! I think it's the personal "challenge" that is gradifying! Now, you got me thinking? Even for folks that aren't really knowledgeable about long distance shooting your presentations are more like a tutorial, (If my choice of verbage is correct)? I think, sincerely, if you had the time or it wouldn't interfere with your "day job", you could put together a great "on-line" Course on Long Distance Shooting? You break down everything in a manner that spurs people's curiousity, "Geez, maybe I voould really do this"?
      Great educational material!
      Best to ya' Sir!

Been shooting 1k plus now for over a year and am getting 1/2 moa 5 shot groups with a 200$ TC Compass and a 4-16x50 hawke scope. I compete with an RPR and a Schmidt PM2 but it is pretty amazing what you can do on a budget.

    Let me add one thing....a good attitude because no matter how good you are shooting a pistol or rifle, longe range takes more puzzle pieces on the table and some get real frustrated...think they buy all the gear and still cant group at 800yds. Good.attitude and willingness to take quality instruction from maybe even a younger person.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  6 років тому +3

      RAZORJB Absolutely! Always keep a positive attitude and listen to what others have to say. Two instructors can say the same thing but the simple wording or tone can make a huge difference to someone processing that information.
      There is an old Asian saying, something to the effect of “ A master should forever be an open minded student.”
      That’s it in a nutshell anyway. :-)

      Brando L. Ruger RPR. If you don’t like the long range game it is easy to offload it with minimal loss. I saw them for 1100 last week.
      For 3500.00 try to get into an MPA but it’s a big commitment and then you still have to add optics.

    Awesome video. First off, I would like to thank Serigo for his service to this country. I'm just curious but is weight of the gun a major factor in accuracy out at long range distances? I'm a Browning guy and I am running a X Bolt Hells Canyon Speed in .243 win that ways six 6 1/2 lbs the gun only with a sporter fluted barrel and a Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x 42 with the Ballistic Plex reticle. Which is sub moa at a 100yds. The gun shoots extremely well. I know the scope is not capable of what it takes to reach out there but with a long range scope I wonder if it's heavy enough to handle long range shooting? And I don't want to put you on the spot but have ever used any Burris long range optics? And would it be beneficial to buy a scope with a etched reticle rather than the wire crosshairs? Thanks again for the great videos.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  6 років тому

      Cody Oslin Thanks Cody! I will pass it along to Sergio.
      I have try keep a heavy rifle for more stability and ability to watch the target with less jump and a light weight setup for more “rucking” applications. Weight of the gun plays a small part.
      The .243 is a great cartridge for longer range shooting.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  6 років тому

      I have used the Burris products and their lifetime warranty is great. Had to use it once. Nothing bad to say about Burris at all.

    Love your channel and catching up on many of your videos. Question though - why would a Kestrel be any better than an Applied Ballistics app on your phone ?

    • @XRING
      @XRING  Рік тому

      Because you can get real time data measurements at your location in one package. Not having to use dongles for wind and not having to have a cell phone that might overheat during the competition. That’s would be my reasoning.
