My poor old man is spinning in his grave by you not cleaning that tank… hand full of nuts and bolts and stick it on the back of the trail bike for a nice afternoons ride. Then fill with vinegar for a few days. It’ll be like new. Always a good day watching you guys revive another unloved old crate.
Im so happy yall have started making videos more frequently again. Ive watched for years now. i found yall back when i first graduated High School and ive watched ever since, one of the very few channels i get actually excited when the bell notification lights up about a new video.
My first bike was a 1964 Honda Trail & Street 90. Bought it with money from part time after school A&P. Dad hated bikes for some reason. I tried to hide it under a sheet. He came home from work and checked on us (TV shows were Howdy Dootie, Flipper, or Mousecateers. He said " what is this ?" My Mom said, its your #1 son's M'cycle. He said " Oh no,it goes back !" I said I can't , I paid cash. He said I could keep it if I got "A" s in school. Fat chance. Now I have 4 bikes in my garage ! 2 Brits, 1 fully dressed Honda Gold Wing, and a dirt bike. Never got "A's either . Love to ride but cell phone fools nearly killed me 2-3 times. Now my bikes are garage queens ! Full of great memories !
Jake take the gas tank off and fill it with apple cyder vinegar. it takes about a week to clean or you could put in a little and rotate it which will take longer! Regardless it cleans well and takes all the rust away! then spray it out with a pressure washer or even a garden hose! You put in mixed gas so it will keep it from rusting! Have a great day! Marc G.
The first motorcycle I ever rode was my Dads 1976 red Honda TRAIL 90 when I was about 8 years old. The fun I had pretending to be Erik Estrada from CHiPs, cruising on the dirt roads. The the harassment I received when all of the cool kids kids would blow by me on their YZ 80's and stop to mock me for riding a moped in the desert. Great times!
Get a set of torch tip cleaners, they are cheap and there is a size for every jet. Also pull the tank off and clean it or you will have carb troubles forever. Thanks for the entertaining video and 👍’s up to camera girl for the start up and she should get the first ride 😉.
Whey hey another video... grt one ... yeah had a uk version of Honda trail , way back in 80s We called em plaggy s like plaggy 90 due to all the plastic add ons to frame work . Most of the plastics were due to ,I'd say uk weather ... and we're designed to keep your feet and legs dry ...also option of windscreens and also ,obviously the top box ... Ours however was mostly for fun ,riding fields etc ... Nice job with carb , though personally, after doing that work .. I'd have removed the tank and ,done a good job restoring that ... .chuck some sharp nuts into tank and some liquid that would aid rust clean up .... Maybe strap tank to a rotating wheel or such, seen done few times before .... Then to run engine ,maybe make a make shift clear fuel line ...Long enough to hold fuel to run engine . As a test. Overall though good job !!!
That's a pretty amazing air filter arrangement for 1970, shows Honda really thought about the end user of the motorcycle and what kinds of use they were likely to expect from it. Alloy wheel cleaner from an auto parts store is excellent for cleaning gummy carbs like that, just leave all the metal components to soak for a few hours and rinse.
Love the "I just woke up" look or is it "I been up for 24 hours" look? Nevertheless, simply one of the most entertaining couples on YT. It doesn't hurt that one of them is a mechanical genius.
This has inspired me to get into the back of the shed and work on mine . Had this same experience, sat at the in-laws for 25 years and had it running in just a few hours, and now it’s sitting at my place being neglected again, but not for long. Thanks for your inspiration
Ive been following you guys forever you've taught me so much valuable information I'll be forever greatful for I love seeing you guys still posting videos and I hope life is treating you well 😁
Love this! You’re givjng me the encouragement to tackle the carbs on my gummed-up Kawasaki W650. 🙂 It’s been good seeing some more vids lately - I’ve enjoyed so many of your series. Hi from England. 👋🏻
Very interesting. ...step by step it will happen.....in my case i want a new carb to feel certain tiny ports are open..amaizing project....just like my own..
Good night everyone cool videos of you and your wife saving mopeds and bikes and getting them babk to used I have been watching your videos of you and your vehicles keep up the good work up on your videos on your you tube channel
I've developed a straightforward way to clean old rusty lacquered fuel tanks that works extremely well for me. step 1- drain, flush with water/degreaser/shake with loose drywall screws step-2 fill/soak with denatured alcohol to dissolve varnish. repeat as necessary step 3- fill with evaporust step 4- flush with water, and immediately flush with premix gasoline to prevent flash rust
Those paper element type fuel filters can often cause problems with short path gravity feed fuel systems. They put enough restriction in that the gravity flow doesn't work properly and you can end up with all sorts of running problems.
I'm ready to start riding my 67 90. You have to admit, they built them to run! I only wish I kept my 64 50 it looked like a motorcycle but that sheet metal frame and forks were very different from an actual bike. But it could hit a good a 50mph. In fourth and the no clutch shifting was pretty cool. Glad to see another one revived!
So glad you guys have been around again. Seemed like a long time we had no idea what had happened to Jennies Garage!!! I know I wasn't the only scared/worried/sad one about it.
I learned to ride on a 1983 trail 110 when I was 12 years old. That started my addiction and I have 10 bikes now. My coolest bike is a 1970 trail 70 completely restored
I had fueling issues with my 1962 Lambretta. The tank looked clean inside, but the fuel tap was blocked. My friend changed the tap, but also dropped a strong magnet into the tank to pick up any rust.
So much joy you bring to us. i cant speak thru my tears of laughter and enjoyment. also im going to assume like we all have done before....grabbed our blanket lost grip and punched my damn self in the face. A couple times lol. was hoping to explain your eye brother. But we will save that for next video or it never happened. Fine by me.
Vespa boy advice. Clean tank with thinners. Then pool acid. Can mix pool acid with water and sleep over it. In morning with some clean pool acid until clean. Water then thinners. First step, thinners will remove gunk. 2nd step pool acid will eat rust. 3rd step water will put acid in neutral. 4th step thinners will soak up all water. Brilliant. I know right? Get some good quality red etch primer. I used coastcoate etch primer. Plascon. If you are using other etch primers. See if petrol eats it. 99% of paint and petrol do something. You want to add cup. Put it in sun with some air flow so paint can dry. Take note: pool acid will eat tap. Tape both sides. Once paint gets like syrup. Open up and let the rest run out bottom. Give it few days to dry. If it was flop. Just add thinners and redo. Now before you question my idea. Just now that I started off on LML scooter with my friend but they kept calling us the lick my lolly boys. So I have moved on to vespa and have owned the business. Only vintage scooters though. This is permanent solution and in my own scooter had no problems for over 5 years. Infact. I own 3 scooter with etch primer linings and do it for clients. That white stuff to line tank just so expensive. Once you done. Your tank few litres smaller. With etch primer about 100ml stays behind. No one will know difference.
Oh, while etch primer dry. Turn it all direction. So it coats tank evenly. Other wise it will be thin layer on top. So as well when you have acid. Top of tank will still have rust. Turn Turn turn. ..
That carb was so clean I thought for sure you bought an ultrasonic cleaner. Then I thought naaaah, he always admits he’s to cheap. So I was curious to see how you got it so clean.
The more and more I see you guys clean out carbs, the more I think my bike would benefit. She's a 2005 Honda Vtr250 that's had a hard life. I bought it running, but not running well. Struggles up small hills, hard to start if I leave it any length of time, and has a potential stuck thermostat (overheats on a cold day). The fan switch was replaced so that isn't the issue.
Jennies Garage is my favorite carburetor channel!
You'll be chasing the rust in that tank.... as it re-contaminates the carb... all over again and again. CLEAN THE TANK!
You find so many bargains, and nothing boring or run of the mill.
I love your teamwork and presenting style.
Thank you!
Im so happy yall have started making videos more frequently again. Ive watched for years now. i found yall back when i first graduated High School and ive watched ever since, one of the very few channels i get actually excited when the bell notification lights up about a new video.
Thank you for the kind words.
I watch the nicest people on youtube fixing honda"s .

JENNIES GARAGE IS BACK ON THE ROADDDDDDD, I LOVED THE OG WILL IT RUN VIDS
I don't think I've ever had another channel that makes me as happy as the two of you do haha. You guys are awesome!

Cheap table vinegar does the job on rust
& line the tank with Kreem, that stuff works great!
Youll be fighting that rust in the tank forever. It will even get through the filters. Use red coat on it
The first motorcycle I ever rode was my Dads 1976 red Honda TRAIL 90 when I was about 8 years old. The fun I had pretending to be Erik Estrada from CHiPs, cruising on the dirt roads. Seeing who is sporting the shiner, I think we know who's getting the first ride in... :P
Tip. Wrap a piece of printer paper around the air filter cage, slide on foam filter, pull paper out.
Get a set of torch tip cleaners, they are cheap and there is a size for every jet. Also pull the tank off and clean it or you will have carb troubles forever. Thanks for the entertaining video and 👍’s up to camera girl for the start up and she should get the first ride 😉.
I love your wife's humor, she sounds adorable
Clean the cap too. The vent gets plugged up easily and will cause a vacuum lock situation. Love you guys’ content!
Jennie get the clippers out and give him a number 1 ffs 😂🤣😂
The joy of the first start😁
I had one of these growing up…. Awesome project
Most people either had one or had a friend with one. :) The Honda Cub is the number one most selling vehicle world wide of all time. 👍
The fuel line with 'ridges' is the reserve. Great to see another CT rescued & put back on the road where it belongs!
It’s a beautiful thing watching y’all work on bikes an cut up! I absolutely love the fix it cheap theme always .

Evaporust for the tank, works great and you can re-use it!

I'm so happy you guys are posting regularly again! I missed these videos. Can't wait to see the next one

Love the "I just woke up" look or is it "I been up for 24 hours" look? Nevertheless, simply one of the most entertaining couples on YT. It doesn't hurt that one of them is a mechanical genius.
It's the just woke up look. We filmed early that day. Thank you for the kind words!
Love ending a weekend with a Jennies Garage video.

The tap tap of a good bike cracked me up. 😂 I do the same thing

I learned to ride on a 1983 trail 110 when I was 12 years old. That started my addiction and I have 10 bikes now. My coolest bike is a 1970 trail 70 completely restored
My first bike was a blue 1969 trail 70. I was 10 or 11. I rode it until the frame tore from me trying to jump it like a moto bike.
SWEET FIND! I love my CT110 - I ride that thing all the time, got lots of vids on that trusty steed!
I had fueling issues with my 1962 Lambretta. The tank looked clean inside, but the fuel tap was blocked.
My friend changed the tap, but also dropped a strong magnet into the tank to pick up any rust.
WHOOP WHOOP!!!! Beautiful weekend! Hope all is well.
that was awesome, these bikes are fun. now you have two of them you can go adventure riding.

Million channels on UA-cam, this is my favorite, Jenn and Jake are wild😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another 1 Saved.
thanks you guys are awsome
That carb was so clean I thought for sure you bought an ultrasonic cleaner. Then I thought naaaah, he always admits he’s to cheap. So I was curious to see how you got it so clean.
My last bike to get running after 20 years was 2 years ago a 1978 Yamaha XL850 with three carbs.
Runs like a top!
Can’t wait to see the crf50 again
Hooray for Jorge!
I used to take the tank off and put a handful of fish tank gravel in there and shake it up To knock the loose rust off
They're back!

What great bikes these are. Thanks for the video. Les in UK 🇬🇧
Excellent Sir

Cool little bike
Thanks!
makes me want to work on my old C100!
IT"S ALIVE!!!
No biggie about riding it around the block by your house. I test in my neighborhood all the time.
