Ah yes. So instead of finding someone online who wants to trade their Charizard EX for my Starmie EX I cant just do that, I need to find a friend of mine who wants to do that exact exchange, have them wait for their trade token to fill up, convince them to delete 4 of their other ex cards to pay the trading fee and hope they haven't put a flair on the card I want, because otherwise I need to put a flair on my card to trade. I will say that the system is... just awful. The sheer amount of those high rarity cards you need to grind down in order to trade for 1 card you need is just too much. But, I think it's salvageable. 1 and 2 diamond cards might not have trade tokens attached to them in terms of trading, but they should allow you to grind down 1 diamonds for 5 tokens and 2 diamonds for 10. It's a very small amount, you'd need 100 1 diamonds to get a single EX, but that seems reasonable to me, and for those who don't care about flairs but have hundreds of extra cards, it could help them eek out finishing playsets or full sets in general.
The fact i cant trade card i really want to card i am willing to trade really dissapointment. I am gladly trade my Immmersive Celebi and other cards with Celebi Ex(i dont have that card yet) but i cant choose...
you don't even pick the card you want and you have to wait 2 whole days to try again. unless you get a irl buddy to trade from, good luck having a good match for the card you want.
Hey, ChaoticMeatball! I think that would be a good step in the right direction, but I still feel like the amount of tokens required for each card is just too high. I would like for them to halve the token cost to trade for each card and refund the trade tokens that were spent prior to the update, but that's pretty wishful thinking. I think your suggestion would be more probable considering the sheer volume of 1 and 2 ◇ cards most players are sitting on. Love your content, btw. I remember first hearing your name from MBT's patreon name reads and the algorithm started recommending you out of nowhere. I love the nuzlocke videos, and as a fellow YGO enthusiast, find it interesting and fun to hear a predominately Pokemon creator reference YGO during a Pokemon video.
i haven't seen anyone yet mention just how beneficial trading could have been for casual players if it was intuitive and simple. i have so many friends and coworkers that play this game passively but were really excited for me to be able to give them some of my extra full art cards that they don't have. but with the current system of gaining currency i just don't see this as even a possible option for them to use to fill any gaps in their collection at all. incredibly disappointing
Beneficial for casual players. Not for the game. If you just GIVE your friends cards they want, they won't have the option of spending money trying to get them. We can't have that now can we?
@phlpcockrell but these people are never going to spend money. They will continue to pull the free packs the game gives them and predatory game mechanics are going to continue to enforce that belief that the game isn't worth spending money on.
@@Badbufon They added trading just for show-off, to tell everyone that we have other ways of collecting cards too whereas they don't want other ways to be applied since they will lose money from pack openings.
I have spent money, got a lot of full arts to trade, but after trading with a friend last night, I realized how much I have to eat extra copies of cards just to do it. So it's like pick your poison. Either fully F2P and get next to nothing or whale like crazy, and you might be able to trade for some 1 stars at best. Nobody wins.
@GabrielZattNunes that's an extreme reaction, I hope you return someday :/ I think the new packs will change the meta. There are some "clear winners" but hopefully the diversity one can have to support the upcoming "meta" cards be viable and fun. That will decide for me whether I can continue playing or simply login twice a day for the rest of time...
Really wish they put in a wonder trade type of system instead of only using friends. It would have been awesome if you can look at all the people playing and request a specific card you want and see if anyone has that for trade. It’s super random so it really is not good because you could trade forever and never get what you need and waste those cards
Yeah I remember the games having a system of choosing the mon you want seeing what people want in exchange for it, I feel like it would work for this game since the cards you trade need to have equal value.
This system needs 3 things: -1 and 2 diamond cards giving players a small amount of tokens for them -Giving players the chance to buy tokens with dust. It's a consistent way to earn de ability to trade rare cards - Allow flared cards to be traded. Locking away trading flared cards just makes this an awful cosmetic commitment.
@@mateuspatussi8447 they should have an open market not this friend bs. You should be able to put up a card and say what your looking for and anyone can say yea I’ll trade.
@@mateuspatussi8447 it doesn't flare cards, you unlock that flare for the card and can equip it. Flares will never be tradeable unfortunately I think exchanging a card AT ALL should give some stardust and trade tokens that way it's not one or the other
Trading only limited to old sets. Ok i understand. Trading only limited to 1* 4d or under, ok, but it already starting to suck. Trading only limited to 1 per day, ok but it's really starting to feel too restrictive. Trading requires to burn 4 to 5 cards and lose the card you are trading essentially exchanging 5 or even 6 to 1 ratio, that is absolutely disgusting. Any condition by itself is pretty annoying already but all of them combined is absolutely disgusting, and they really dropped the ball here. Imagine introducing the most anticipated feature and having every single player disgusted by it.
The devs put out an article the other day asking people not to buy trades or accounts. People were saying that trading should be limited to low rarities because they didn't want people buying trades, yet they had to put out a statement with all of these restrictions in mind regardless. If it was going to be a problem no matter what, and it's already super stingey from the jump, then they may as well have included everything to be tradable. People are going to grind down their entire collections for crown rares? Go ahead. They won't get very far.
The tragic thing is, you haven't even listed everything that's wrong with this system. There's also the fact that you cannot ask for offers. You can only randomly offer a card chosen by you to a specific friend, not knowing if they even need that card, then wait for them to offer a card that you might not even need, provided they even want your card and are fine with paying the fee, if it's a 3 star or higher. In other words, the system lacks the most vital part of a trade: a function for communication
I hope the community backlash can fix this broken feature. I’m relatively new to the game so you’d think trading would give me the freedom to unlock cards I don’t have….nope. This really benefits the whales who don’t even need to trade cause they have everything. Kinda a bummer but at least it’s another avenue for getting gen 5 Pokemon that I want. I don’t care too much for sacrificing other generations of Pokemon as long as I get to keep at least one in my inventory.
@@alexandergomez3574you have no way to know that. All we know is they are giving away 500 tokens in one event. None of the upcoming events other than that have the tokens listed as rewards.
I think it would be better to choose all cards you’d be willing to offer, and then the other person could select the one they want. Currently, it’s impossible to trade effectively without communication out of game.
I don't understand why is there a 24 hour timer if we have to burn our cards to get tokens and mind you very expensive tokens?? Either remove the timer or the token.
@@alexandergomez3574 hand what out? The system will still be forever bad until they decide to fix it. Then again they may just say “we’re focusing on the card collecting aspect not X “
Some personal thoughts: Having to grind down so many cards is crazy, 8 EXs (between both players) just so they can trade a card is outrages. I believe that this is due to them wanting to drop down "card inflation" removing valuable card from circulation so valuable card stay "valuable". Something like this happened with Clash Royale, when it came out legendary cards were so valuable back then because people didn't have any but several years later there are so many that there is nothing special about them any more, so I believe this is their way of fighting this. Also I believe this is the reason you cant grind 1 and 2 diamonds, because they aren't valuable and they don't care for having excess of those in circulation... All of that makes sense to me until they only let you trade up to 4 diamonds and 1 star. I believe that most of f2p just want to be able to have 2 copies of every card to be able to make decks and play maches. I would understand these high prices is you where able to trade 2 and 3 stars and crow rare but having the system as it is they are just stopping people from actually playing the game (participating in matches not only collecting)... Regarding the avoidance of a secondary market and people making multiple accounts, I believe there are better solutions that having a outrageous trading price: - You already limited the rarity of the cards that can be traded so people aren't going to be able to trade truly rare cards just the indispensable for playing matches. - Force to be a certain level for enabling trades and if for some reason someone actually grinds a "secondary" accounts to level 30 (for example), dude that person actually spent a lot of hours playing that account, it's a real accounts so let him trade his cards. - If they are so worried about people abusing the trade system then make it so you can't trade valuable cards that often. 1 diamond 1 trading hour glass, 2 diamond 2 trading hours glass... etc and make it so you can only trade valuable card once a week or 10 days or whatever... - Be able to get the trade tokens by matches o events (maybe it's in their plans for the future) or be able to burn in to trading tokens that shine dust or star dust of whatever it's called, you can tell from that how useful that dust thing has been for me.... I cant believe i actually waisted 20 min of my day thinking about this and writing this message... and if you actually read the whole thing, sorry 😅
I can’t believe how awful this system is. It seems impossible to trade for F2P players. You need to be a whale to grind enough cards to trade, and at that point you can probably open the cards you want anyways
I'm one of those guys. You could spend a lot of time and money and still miss certain cards for a collection. We are all subject to the trading system.
@@spicymemes7458 the thing is it's bad even for whales, you guys probably have some 2 stars, 3 stars and crowns missing from your collection, which you can't trade, I am completely f2p and I have almost every 1 star so I can only imagine that trading is mega useless for whales and super expensive for f2p, literally no one wins, which is good in my opinion, if no one uses it they will be forced to change it to be more profitable, which means adding 2 star and above cards to the tradable list (which is good for everyone, f2p can just save for a 2 star or rarer card they really want and trade it with a 2 star they have and like less) (whales can just complete their collection) everyone wins, tcg pocket still gets money, trades are still not very exploitable, even for whales, since rare cards are still somewhat illusive and would probably cost a lot of tokens, it's just better
@@ExpertAssass1n not even being a free to play game salvages this. MTG and YUGIOH have far better buying singles mechanics. this is the worst i have seen so far, bordeline useless.
I honestly think they should've never mentioned the idea of trading/having it on the community screen. It doesn't work in this type of game in any way it's not possible without hurting their pockets or our pockets (deeming it irrelevant and just a bad feature). It's definitely a bad look. I think the solution would be having trading be locked till level 40 (I'm not even level 40 yet, I'm actually 39)... I feel that if you lock it to a high level like that, then you can make it completely unrestricted. Those players will likely not abuse trading because they've put so much time and potentially money in the game, not to mention they likely have most cards. I'd love to see trading with people being able to overpay trade for a crown card or something. Unique trading where you actually create your own unique deals with other players. So level lock trading and have it be completely unrestricted/maybe also use stardust instead... Hard to think of any other potential solution that doesn't hurt their pockets and also make cards feel like they don't have a rarity.
Or like give players a cards cap, You need 2k GA cards or something before trading cause Even after 2k You either have most or pack few for the full set New players have it the worst Will never be able to complete the sets imo
"Hurting their pockets" Oh no. The app that made over $400 million might not maximise their profits if they can't completely shag their entire userbase
My biggest complaint with how trading is at the moment is if I want to trade for a card I'm looking for I need to use some other messaging app to tell the person I'm gonna trade with what I want them to send me and vice versa
This is so funny cause DeNa, the developer of Pocket, made D.O.T which had the most robust trading system in the game. Basically making a stock exchange on your monsters that everyone loved. How they managed to go from that to this is just to justify their mistake on D.O.T which anyone could make thousands of accounts to abuse the system.
System is awful but some more tips: 1) You can trade even if you only have 1 card 2) If you do 1) then the card summary will say not registered and only show the back of the card, however in the pokedex, it will still be registered as i tried with a 2 diamond Marowak. I don't know how it would interact with missions 3) You can't dismantle if you own 2 or less of that card
@@dgeneratio1 Same question about how it would interaction with missions but seeing that it’s still registered in the dex, I think it would still apply?
Apparently it doesn't affect missions. U can trade a gardevoir back and forth till u get the badge for example. I wouldn't recommend it as that would use a crap load of scam tokens.
I'm completely fine with the way they limit the system. If we could trade a lot, people would open way less packs and it would kill the game. What I don't like is that realistically, you can't rely on the game alone to get the cards you want because you can't communicate with other players in game. I should be able to say that I want and what I'm willing to give for it. For example : I want Arcanine EX, I can trade : Charizard EX/Articuno EX/Gengar EX for it. People on my friend list can see my trade offer, initiate the trade with me and pick what they want out of the list I'm willing to give.
I agree. I think the trade system is meant to get you those last few cards to complete a set or a deck. Like using pack points, this is a costly way to get the exact card that you want. I'd like to see costs come down a little, or alternative ways to gain points. The real pain point is having to coordinate out of game. It's wild they didn't build an interface to better facilitate trading in game.
Aside from the costs, they need to add a slider for tokens because turning in one card at a time is insanely slow. All the extra animations for it can also go.
Crazy to me that you can’t request the card you want from your trade partner. This dynamic of requiring communication outside of the game is a massive miss. Just let me send a trade, in its entirety, and my trade partner can choose if it’s good or not. I’m supposed to reach out to every single friend on the list and see if I can get a metapod??
I’m just beyond disappointed in how this shook out. I really don’t think it would’ve been a problem for the stamina to have been the bottleneck, rather than the tokens. It’s transparently predatory for the main vehicle of trading to be packs. It doesn’t matter if it’s partially to stop RMT or re-rollers, that doesn’t stop just because there’s a barrier. Feels very much like locking products in a cage, only to sell fewer products because they’re a hassle to even purchase. Capitalists will always prefer the option that makes YOUR life harder
I am actually happy with the trade system. Atleast I can fill out all my 1 and 2 diamond cards 😄 Trading in online card games are super powerful. There are very few online card games which actually have any trading. It could be a little less prohibitive tho. Just a tiny bit. I don't care for 1 star cards and higher super expensive, I think they should be. But 3 and 4 diamond cards could be atleast a little less expensive. But we should wait and see how many tokens we are able to earn via events.
Something I do not think he mentioned is that trades can expire trades. Have a two day expiration date, where if your trade partner does not accept your trade or just refuses your trade you will not lose any of your trade resources.
I spent money on the game. I don't mind it because it's generally F2P and I want to support the devs. Even whales wouldn't help here because the incentive to whale was partially to help with trades, but if you have to use those cards for currency to trade, then nobody is left with much of anything. They may as well have included all cards to be tradable if it was going to be this restrictive anyway. I was looking forward to giving some excess to my friends, but this is obnoxious. I hope they revamp this feature.
And something that I also came up with for those that want to use the game for trades and can’t make a discord or anything like that for some reason what you could do is make a binder for cards you’re willing to trade and make a binder for cards that you’re offering so that your friends can look through those binders and that will give them a idea of what you’re looking for to be fair, we shouldn’t have to do things like this. This should have been thought of, but that’s another idea.
So do I have this right. Putting the currency aspect aside. I put a card up to trade but I can't indicate what cards I'm willing to trade for in return? So the other player who wants my card has to guess what I want and we both lose currency even if the trade doesn't go through?
Before trading, I didn't have any Ivysaur and my friend didn't have any Chameleon. We're able to help fill each other out completing the dex. It's gonna suck to go for 3-Diamond and above, but I'll just wait until they give out tokens for them. Hell, they still haven't posted about trading on X as far as I know
Wish they introduced trading like the Old Pokémon Game’s Global Trade System so you can post what you’re looking for and willing to trade. What’s the purpose of adding friends in game if you can’t communicate with them.
I don’t want to fill my friends list with random people from Japan… the game already seems to just make me play in that region, despite being in the Uk. Now my wonder picks are full of Japanese language cards.
Just so it's clear, in order to trade a one-star card, you'd need to burn 4 one-star cards. Four one-star cards are equal to 1600 pack points, which is equal to opening 320 packs. I'd much rather try my luck opening 320 packs to pull that one card and keep my 4 one-star cards; I'd probably pull the card that way.
I really appreciate your efforts! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Trading isnt meant to be able to complete 50 to 25% of your deck. Its meant to be able to find those remaining couple of cards you didnt get but instead got dups of others
to be honest i kinda like that there is a system where excess cards get to be "burned" for something i kinda hate that the cards that you kinda wanna burn for something are the ones you REALLY do not want to burn ... like for example i was kinda hopping we could say ... burn one of my 40 ratatas for resource and i would kinda wished that shinedust was also part of this resources, so that i can use to trade with others (as of now that shine dust will continue to accumulate on my account, cuz i really don't see much reason to the flare effect) i kinda find the price for trading to be in the ludacris range, to the point where i don't think trade is that worth it , especially for free to play players , unless some very specific circumstances ... 1 or 2 diamond trade is fun , but those are rarely card that would have impacts (exception would be trainer cards, which i think are all 2 diamonds and a few other solid 2 diamond mons)
So a recap on all the restrictions: Only older packs can be traded Can only trade with friends 1 card per trade Can only trade the same rarety Requires consuming 2 things to trade Trading 1 EX costs deleting 4 other EX Can only trade cards of 1 star or below Need to sacrifice your entire family to our Pokemon overlords Anything I missed?
They should never let that dev in the kitchen again. It’s like they made a cake, and started dumping condiments on it. Hopefully they can fix this, or at least improve it more.
I'll wait about one or two months. So if they reduce the price for trading or making it better i trade later to complete my collection. Otherwise I will be far away from it.
I did have low expectations about the trading system and was already antecipating it to be quite restrictive but man oh man... they managed to implement something way more disappointing than I thought it would be, I guess that says something
I thought this was going to work like Pokemon Home: You offer a pokemon for trade, you wait a bit, you get the card you want. Simple, and effective. All they had to do was use something akin to the wonder stamina and BOOM, balanced trading. But nooooooo we have to implement this garbage to maximize profit! It’s totally not against what made the game fun to play in the first place!
The games are different from a free card game. You pay for a game, and rare pokemon like legendaries are limited to 1 copy per game. They don't need to limit the amount of trading you can do, because its already inherently limited. If there was no restrictions to trading, the cards would hold no value as you can make endless accounts to trade to. Just be patient and wait for the free currency they will hand out over time, don't grind any if your cards, you don't need to.
I don't mind that you can't trade higher rarity cards, the cost to trade cards seems pretty high though The worst part though is having to actually contact people on your friends list and tell them what cards you want to trade, what happens if you've just been adding random people from Wonder Trades and battles? Why couldn't they just do something like the old GTS system from the 3DS games where you put your card up for trade with anyone and specify what card you want for it, then whoever likes the trade can do it?
I'm actually so confused, so unless your friends are actual friends or people on discord or something, the trading is like Wonder Trade? In what world can I only offer a card and not say what I want? No I do not want another 4 Diamond Raichu that I already have 10 of. I want a 4 Diamond Blastoise that I have 0 of but I have 0 way of communicating that
Yea makes 0 sense, either need an in-game chat (0% they add that because lawsuits would be inevitable) or just make it so that people can put cards on a trading block and you can choose to make an offer for a card
For someone like me who is only missing two cards that can be traded, the trade system is great. However, I understand new players and free to play players might be disappointed.
Just implement a ranked mode or something where you get trade coin for winning. If they don't yeah it's gonna be pretty much an hard miss for most people. Now for me and a couple of my friends (all f2p) it actually worked fine 'cause we only needed 5ish cards to complete the 226/226 cards of genetic apex (3 holos 2 ex) and personally I only needed one 1 star card to complete all the museums but I can see how people with below average luck would need more. So yeah, more ways to get coin would fix a lot.
Fellow F2p here. Same, but I don't have all the full art 1 stars. I have all ex and under for both genetic apex and mythical island. Isn't it going to feel great going into this new set without having to worry about the previous sets? 😂 Mythical island was kinda worrying because I was still missing some genetic apex cards!😂
You can burn the 2 star cards and up for some trade tokens even though its not tradeable. But can't burn the 2 diamonds and below thats also not tradeable.
Trade token values should be increased heavily. Commons should give you 25 and everything scales up from there. Trading should be insensitive with bonuses.
Yeah a threshold to trade isn’t a bad idea at all but having (as of now) to get rid of your dupes (that you may want to be trading in the first place) just to be able to trade is annoying. Should’ve made it a level cap for each rarity or something so people wouldn’t spam new alt accounts
what is also absurd is I can't exchange my ex for trade tokens if i have only 2 of them. What if I have 2 ex and 2 full art of the same pokemon and i dont need 4? so many useless restriction

you don't even pick the card you want and you have to wait 2 whole days to try again. unless you get a irl buddy to trade from, good luck having a good match for the card you want.
I love the nuzlocke videos, and as a fellow YGO enthusiast, find it interesting and fun to hear a predominately Pokemon creator reference YGO during a Pokemon video.
i haven't seen anyone yet mention just how beneficial trading could have been for casual players if it was intuitive and simple. i have so many friends and coworkers that play this game passively but were really excited for me to be able to give them some of my extra full art cards that they don't have. but with the current system of gaining currency i just don't see this as even a possible option for them to use to fill any gaps in their collection at all. incredibly disappointing
i don't know why they implemented trading if they are actively trying to avoid people trading at all costs lol.
They just didn’t want a closed loop. Absolutely predatory
As a Free to Play, this is horrendous. Absolutely disgusting. I'll probably never trade because of how awful this system is.
@@Haseendard never mind trading, I'm probably never playing this game again because of how awful this is
I'm free to play and could trade 3 EXs or 4 full arts right now. It's fine actually. Not great, just fine.
@@Lulink013 You could be a whale and still not have enough cards to be able to trade...

Truly an achievement as to how terrible they managed to make this 😂

It's actually a very smart system to prevent exploiters. If you could just trade whatever you want, it would literally ruin the game.

Really wish they put in a wonder trade type of system instead of only using friends. It would have been awesome if you can look at all the people playing and request a specific card you want and see if anyone has that for trade. It’s super random so it really is not good because you could trade forever and never get what you need and waste those cards
I really wanted a post it system, were ppl can see it online and offer a trade if they need said card for one to accept or decline
Yeah I remember the games having a system of choosing the mon you want seeing what people want in exchange for it, I feel like it would work for this game since the cards you trade need to have equal value.
@@lilpepe9588 Pokemon Home have exactly that in GTS.
The only thing I need to know about the Trading Update is that it's 100% NOT worth bothering with it.
This system needs 3 things:
-1 and 2 diamond cards giving players a small amount of tokens for them
-Giving players the chance to buy tokens with dust. It's a consistent way to earn de ability to trade rare cards
- Allow flared cards to be traded.
Flares will never be tradeable unfortunately I think exchanging a card AT ALL should give some stardust and trade tokens that way it's not one or the other
@@mateuspatussi8447 yeah like literally if 1 and 2 diamond cards gave like 5 and 10 tokens each it would be totally fine
you can trade flared cards
Exactly. Even if like 1d gave 5 tokens and 2d 10 tokens it would be far better
I genuinely couldn't have thought of a worse trading system for a trading card game, that's the best i can say for the devs.
Giving Boston tea party vibes, we just don’t like taxes.
Imagine introducing the most anticipated feature and having every single player disgusted by it.
when all people were exciting about trade i knew it would be bad.... but not as bad. greedy as++oles
W guide man! This trade system is absolute dogwater but thanks for explaining it a bit better for my friends
You do know they're gonna hand out the currency as rewards right? The grinding method is NOT the main method of obtaining the currency.
@@alexandergomez3574yeah but if we need to wait events to get the currency then u know the currency was bad thought

Some personal thoughts:
Having to grind down so many cards is crazy, 8 EXs (between both players) just so they can trade a card is outrages.
Regarding the avoidance of a secondary market and people making multiple accounts, I believe there are better solutions that having a outrageous trading price:
- You already limited the rarity of the cards that can be traded so people aren't going to be able to trade truly rare cards just the indispensable for playing matches.
This really is a terrible system, only really for whales who dont even need to trade
I'm one of those guys. You could spend a lot of time and money and still miss certain cards for a collection. We are all subject to the trading system.
@@spicymemes7458 i could get that if you could trade anything, but if your whaling just use pack points to fill the rest. This is dumb
UA-cam comments aren't enough to to the app stores and give them the low ratings they deserve. That's how you make them react.
I think you should be able display a card o cards you want and what card o cards you will be willing to trade for.

Or like give players a cards cap, You need 2k GA cards or something before trading cause Even after 2k You either have most or pack few for the full set
New players have it the worst Will never be able to complete the sets imo
"Hurting their pockets"
Oh no.
Pretty simple, trade tokens should be acquired through playing the game, daily missions, events.
Exactly
This is so funny cause DeNa, the developer of Pocket, made D.O.T which had the most robust trading system in the game. Basically making a stock exchange on your monsters that everyone loved. How they managed to go from that to this is just to justify their mistake on D.O.T which anyone could make thousands of accounts to abuse the system.
System is awful but some more tips:
1) You can trade even if you only have 1 card
2) If you do 1) then the card summary will say not registered and only show the back of the card, however in the pokedex, it will still be registered as i tried with a 2 diamond Marowak. I don't know how it would interact with missions
3) You can't dismantle if you own 2 or less of that card
@@dgeneratio1 Same question about how it would interaction with missions but seeing that it’s still registered in the dex, I think it would still apply?
@@Satella29 maybe but unless it's 2 diamond or below, don't risk it.
Apparently it doesn't affect missions. U can trade a gardevoir back and forth till u get the badge for example. I wouldn't recommend it as that would use a crap load of scam tokens.
This isn't even trading anymore. This is literally crafting by definition😂
Here is actually everything you need to know:
We getting robbed
Aside from the costs, they need to add a slider for tokens because turning in one card at a time is insanely slow. All the extra animations for it can also go.
These prices are insane. I really think the currency system for this sucks horribly.
That personal review at the and was tremendously diplomatic
I’m just beyond disappointed in how this shook out. I really don’t think it would’ve been a problem for the stamina to have been the bottleneck, rather than the tokens.
It’s transparently predatory for the main vehicle of trading to be packs. It doesn’t matter if it’s partially to stop RMT or re-rollers, that doesn’t stop just because there’s a barrier. Feels very much like locking products in a cage, only to sell fewer products because they’re a hassle to even purchase.

Have a two day expiration date, where if your trade partner does not accept your trade or just refuses your trade you will not lose any of your trade resources.
can think of countless ways to make this game so much better it's already a lot of fun but they can add so many features still
the system is basically work for what you want and everyone hates that lol! Actually insane
Uhm yeah you use discord like any sane person.
You don't lose the currency, the game tells you this. You get back the stuff if the trade deal didn't went through
Before trading, I didn't have any Ivysaur and my friend didn't have any Chameleon. We're able to help fill each other out completing the dex. It's gonna suck to go for 3-Diamond and above, but I'll just wait until they give out tokens for them. Hell, they still haven't posted about trading on X as far as I know

As a Day 1 player, the trade and having to trade off repeated cards doesnt hurt, but I've gotta imagine new players are gonna have a bad time.
I don’t want to fill my friends list with random people from Japan… the game already seems to just make me play in that region, despite being in the Uk. Now my wonder picks are full of Japanese language cards.
Let em know in the reviews. I can only imagine the rating on the app stores to drop down to 2 stars or worse after the update goes live.
Devs are not hiding anymore. They gladly show the world that they're greedy as heck.
The way they've implemented trading is a disaster.
This is a really well made guide. An somehow the system is still confusing and makes me not wanna bother playing anymore.
Just wait until they hand out the current for free. It already been datamined that we'll receive 500 soon.

Trading isnt meant to be able to complete 50 to 25% of your deck. Its meant to be able to find those remaining couple of cards you didnt get but instead got dups of others
Can’t trade promos?
will not be using this feature lol, when does the update drop?
I was today years old when I found out that a 4 diamond was more rare than a star
to be honest i kinda like that there is a system where excess cards get to be "burned" for something
i kinda hate that the cards that you kinda wanna burn for something are the ones you REALLY do not want to burn ... like for example i was kinda hopping we could say ... burn one of my 40 ratatas for resource and i would kinda wished that shinedust was also part of this resources, so that i can use to trade with others (as of now that shine dust will continue to accumulate on my account, cuz i really don't see much reason to the flare effect)
i kinda find the price for trading to be in the ludacris range, to the point where i don't think trade is that worth it , especially for free to play players , unless some very specific circumstances ... 1 or 2 diamond trade is fun , but those are rarely card that would have impacts (exception would be trainer cards, which i think are all 2 diamonds and a few other solid 2 diamond mons)
Do NOT burn cards, that is meant for long term players and whales. Just wait for the free currency that they will hand out as gifts and missions.
So a recap on all the restrictions:
Only older packs can be traded
Can only trade with friends
1 card per trade
Can only trade the same rarety
Requires consuming 2 things to trade
Trading 1 EX costs deleting 4 other EX
Can only trade cards of 1 star or below
Need to sacrifice your entire family to our Pokemon overlords
Anything I missed?
I was scared that there would be a dumb stamina system for trading... And my nightmare came true...
I'm getting flashbacks to the Xbox and Playstation game trading meme.
They should never let that dev in the kitchen again. It’s like they made a cake, and started dumping condiments on it. Hopefully they can fix this, or at least improve it more.
As a F2P, I refuse to burn any of my cards. I'll treat trading as something that never existed on the first place and wait until they fix this.
I dont get it how do i pick the card i need or tell the friend what card i want??? So bizarre
I don't mind that you can't trade higher rarity cards, the cost to trade cards seems pretty high though
The worst part though is having to actually contact people on your friends list and tell them what cards you want to trade, what happens if you've just been adding random people from Wonder Trades and battles?
Should’ve made it a level cap for each rarity or something so people wouldn’t spam new alt accounts
thank you tor reading the comments
Having collected every common card below 1 star, I just want to help my friends with their decks man :(
what is also absurd is I can't exchange my ex for trade tokens if i have only 2 of them. What if I have 2 ex and 2 full art of the same pokemon and i dont need 4? so many useless restriction
