  • Common mistakes in English are often made with the words "they're", "there" and "their".
    English students often ask, "What is the difference between there and their ?"
    Erreurs courantes en anglais. Voici un cours d'anglais qui explique la différence entre "they're", "there" et "their".
    These words are difficult because they are all pronounced the same but they have different spellings and meanings. They are homophones.
    "they're" is the contracted form of "they are".
    "there" is an adverb of place and also an introducing subject.
    Finally "their" is a possessive adjective used to describe who owns something.
    I explain all of these words in detail in the video with several examples.
    There are some English exercises at the end of the video to test your understanding.

      +sebastian alegria "their" is a possessive adjective. Example. My parents have a car. *Their* car is red.

      Crown Academy of English is possible could you explain me the different use of the words quickly and faster?? cheers

    • @CrownAcademyEnglish
      @CrownAcademyEnglish  8 років тому

      sebastian alegria Hello Sebastian. Please could you start a new comment when you ask me a question? It is easier for me to reply. :)
      "quickly" is an adverb. An adverb describes a verb. Example: "He is running *quickly.*
      "faster" is usually a comparative adjective. An adjective describes a noun. "faster" means "more fast" Example: I have 2 cars: A Ferrari and a Renault. I prefer the Ferrari because it is *faster.*
