There is a lot of people in the same situation, where you have some friends who don't want to try fighting games because the one that's introducing them will destroy them in a 1v1, so they can only play with randoms for a huge amount of hours before being able to enjoy playing with an experienced friend. This system completely fixes that, as now I can ask my friends to play together while also teaching them stuff at the same time.

Being able to take a step away from the game while your mate is playing, see what the opponent is doing and then coming back into the match might end up being pretty cool. Also I just have one question : is the parry button a macro? I'd prefer if it's this way since that would make the game a 6 button game.

Consider the freestyle mode, you're playing a 50/50 sandwitched with double tag against 2 different human brains with independent thinking. The reading in those situations gotta be a lot harder than the usual brain 1v1.
Id feel its majorly in the solo's favor, knowing when the other person wants assists/bursts ect is very hard to coordinate and something the solo will never have to deal with.
I mean, if the duo has some insane synergy with each other, then they'll 100% have the advantage. The solo player would have to play against 2 different playstyles. But then again, for a duo to have that kind of synergy, it would take a huge amount of effort on both parts.
I remember SonicFox mentioning that playing in a duo enabled different mixups during tags that were tied to holding buttons down in a way that you can't as a Solo player. If that's still the case then Duo's definitely have the potential to have sauce for pressure that Singles don't.

Fighting games r best as a social experience, everyone knows that. I feel like u r making a mountain out of a mole hill, lots of people love talking while fighting. Not having this feature is absolutely nonsensical if your partner is the one in control of burts and assists. How in the world r u supposed to coordinate in a game as fast as this? This is y u never let bro cook lol, edit: ok maybe he can cook on special ocasions, the ping idea isnt too bad. Not at the cost of voice chat tho
Regardless, I feel the implimentation could never be as fast or smooth enough compared to just voice. You're in neutral, making dozens of movements throwing out attacks and specials, now u have to stop for a sec, ping your partner, then hope your partner reacts accordingly and on time. Sounds like a whole extra skill in itself adding to the mental stack when I could just go "assist combo", "burst now", "tag out". Humans know how to talk to each other, especially with practice and u both know each others moves. Like I said its not a big issue as u make it out to be

The game seems too much rooted to the first Marvel vs Capcom or even Marvel super heroes vs Street fighter it looks super safe at the moment and theres nothing too crazy.
You can tell they're still working on it. Illaoi's throws have a much better feeling in the official trailers compared to any of the other characters throws.
Throws delete a little chunk of recoverable health in addition to the damage they do, so definitely more rewarding to do against someone who already has a chunk of red life
I’ve said this before but man, even with devs and pros it seems like many rounds end up using the full time given, if they want thousands of people to tune in and watch this as and esport I think they need to speed up the game loop. maybe introducing chip damage on block could speed things up a bit? I think characters themselves are doing enough damage. Maybe they could introduce the guilty gear strive “Danger” mechanic that punishes people who are playing too defensive and turtling up to encourage more brawling. SF6 has a 99 round timer but most rounds can end 30 to 40 secs in. TEKKEN round times are 60 secs and can end in 20 to 30 secs. I think for this game they should aim for most rounds to end in 60 secs I feel like that time is a nice middle ground for a fighter like this. Thoughts anyone?
Mvc3 vanilla on its beta state was like this, it causes a lot of timeouts because a lot of players don't know what to do yet in the game. I can imagine it would be similar to this where after the game is release, people would die in like 60 secs like you said

Its the universal reversal. A common complaint before was that it was too safe.
So my guess is they're changing it to work like a proper reversal now.
