Restoring an Ibanez GRG 370 DX guitar

I always wanted to do some restoration work on my main guitar, this ibanez. As I have always been a fan of van halen, I knew about the revolution that Eddie brought to the instrument world and to technological innovations as well. After his death, I felt obliged to honor him in some way. So, I decided to completely modify my guitar, changing floyd, tuners, pickup, even painting, the same way he did with his Frankstrat in the early days of his career. I could have painted the famous "stripes", screwed the famous "71 'quarter", but I didn't want to make it into a copy, but rather a unique guitar, as he himself wanted it to be. The process took about 10 days and the total video about 10 hours.

Sempre quis realizar um trabalho de restauração na minha principal guitarra, essa ibanez. Como sempre fui fã de van halen, sabia da revolução que Eddie trouxe no mundo do instrumento e nas inovações tecnológicas também. Depois de sua morte, me senti na obrigação de homenagea-lô de alguma forma. Então, decidi modificar completamente minha guitarra, trocando a ponte da guitarra, tarraxas, captador, até mesmo a pintura, da mesma forma que ele fez com sua Frankstrat nos primórdios da sua carreira. Eu poderia ter pintado as famosas "listras", parafusar a famosa moeda de 1971, mas não queria transformar numa cópia, e sim em uma guitarra única, como ele mesmo quisesse que fosse. O processo durou cerca de 10 dias e o vídeo total por volta de 10 horas.

Confesso que fiquei um pouco triste porque a guitarra tinha uma cara bem legal com os adesivos. Passava uma história. Mas depois do resultado gostei também. É uma guitarra linda de qualquer jeito e a pintura ficou doida!

With the same amount of copper tape you put in there, I could've shielded 3 guitars. Shielding in the trem spring cavity? Totally unnecessary. Just the control cavity alone is more than enough(not to mention you're putting a humbucker instead of single coils). Other than that, it's a great one.
