Btw i had the same rubbing issue with this in my Z. I have a full Z1 exhaust. Turns out you have to tighten the bolts on the exhaust while holding it up, this allows the botls to tighten without slack in the tubing. The video is on my channel if you want to check it out. Great looking nismo btw
Also do not remove that W brace. Worse case what you can do is mark where it rubs, remove the brace and with a hammer dent in the area where it touches by a bit to get a bit more clearance.
If you dont want to remove the W brace that rubbing the exhaust, put a few washers on where it bolts up so you can get a little space without making it too low.
I got a '08 350z with Berk Resonated Pipes, stock y pipe, and Z1 single exit. The car is stupid loud! 😂 I've noticed when I installed my test pipes (been on for about a week now), I can noticeably hear the rasp at high RPM's, so I'm guessing if I change the Y pipe to Z1 or ISR (also a good choice, as far as I've done research) it would clear up the rasp? But I don't know.. driving normal it's not too bad, shifting at 3k (pops inbetween shifts) with the windows up is doable.. I can still hear my music. It feels like it has gained more low-end torque too when I installed my test pipes. I also read that the test pipe has to be broken in, I don't know how true that is but I read it somewhere on a 370z forum, and the rasp would eventually go away.
You are risking a lot working under the car with only the lift jack and no jack stands... always use jack stands or least some blocks under the wheels should the jack fail.

Quick question, what bolts did you use for the small extension?
same bolts you’d use for test pipes
@@nismoj I was thinking that but just thought that the bolts would be too big for it. But thanks for the response back.
what size head and thread size is the bolt on the new y-pipe, on the part that connect to the Tomei
not sure on sizes. but it’s just a 14mm bolt. same bolts you would use for test pipes
